  • powerful, durable and quiet
I found this very useful over the winter for clearing the front step, and deck and patio out back. A bit heavy, but works well. I already had the powerhead that came with edger, and I have also purchased the pole saw. I LOVE EGO, and also own the Z6 e-steer mower, chainsaw, leaf blower, snow blower, weed trimmer, power inverter and a lot of batteries from 2.5Ah to 12.0Ah. I have never had a problem with anything, so long as you follow good charging practices. REGISTER all ego products immediately for warranty extensions that may be available. ... show more

  • So much easier than shoveling (on the back)
The media could not be loaded. I was an early adopter of the Ego line of yard tools and am always on the lookout for new additions to their product line. Living in middle-Tennessee, I was uncertain if a snow thrower was a justifiable purchase. (I have lived in Colorado and owned a full-size/standard gas-powered snow thrower that I didn't need and in Virginia where I didn't have one but needed it.) To my wife's displeasure, I purchased this attachment in November 2023 on the off chance it would get use at some point. The chance to use it came sooner than expected. We had 7-8 inches of snow over a 36 hour period which coincided with my being sick. Because of my health, my wife took on the clearing of the driveway after the snow stopped (letting her be the first to use my new toy/tool). It is a little heavy and is a bit of a workout for the upper body, but my wife was able to operate it just fine. My wife didn't think she could have cleared the driveway with a standard shovel and was so pleased with the Ego's performance that she gave me a belated blessing for the purchase. ... show more

  • Excellent quality, works great, a bit heavy
Very well built, and very powerful for an electric snow shovel. It seems like more of a mini snowblower than a shovel. Thing cranks the snow like nothing. It also fits the milwaukee power head, which is a bonus. (by simply cutting the nylon tab off) The only drawback to this, is the weight. I bought it for my wife, and after testing it out, it's almost more than I want to deal with. It's quite heavy. ... show more

  • Impressive
I finally got to use it today and was much better than I expected. We had a pretty good wet snowfall today and it ate up that snow with ease. We had about 4 to 6 inches and it did however struggle with the higher levels but had no problem with around 4 inches. It is kind of heavy and cumbersome but going in a straight line was very easy to use. In tight spots however it is a lot of back and fourth and lifting the shovel and carrying it back to a position that is best to go in a straight line if possible. Overall better than a shovel but probably not as good as a snow blower but more convenient and easier to store and less expensive. ... show more

  • Broke the second time I used it
The snow thrower does work well and has enough power to move snow without much trouble at all. It is heavy to carry around, but overall less work, easier on the back, and faster than manual shoveling. I was able to clear 6 inches of fresh snow (not wet/heavy) from a standard 4 car driveway in under 15 minutes, that includes getting bundled up, setting it up, putting it away, and taking my coat/boots off. I do really like the product. Unfortunately one of the blades on the auger snapped during the second time I used it. It’s not covered under warranty because it’s a “wear and tear” part, so I had to buy a replacement and install it myself. It’s disappointing that ego doesn’t stand behind their products, so I guess I’ll just baby it moving forward and keep a manual shovel on hand for “heavy duty” snow. ... show more

  • Works well, breaks easy
I already have an Ego 2-state snow blower but purchased this for lighter snowfalls and for my sidewalk because it has a step that the snow blower doesn't work well with. My first impressions were good, as it takes the snow all the way down to the concrete, even better than my snow blower does. However, my excitement turned to disappointment soon after, when the auger hit a small rock on the driveway that must have fallen form a passing dump truck or flung from a car tire. The rock chipped the plastic auger and from that point forward, the shovel has a vibration while running, due to the auger now being off balance. It's still usable but the vibration is annoying. A replacement auger is $50 on Amazon but I was able to find one for $30 shipped, elsewhere online. I will use the shovel as-is until it gets here in a week or two. Another thing that I find annoying, it will hang up on any and all cracks in the pavement. I have a paver stone walkway and it hangs up on stones/bricks that are ever-so-slightly raised. I find it helps to lower the handle some to change the angle of the shovel scraper but then I get a sore back from bending over. I've also noticed that the speed will vary by like 50% but that is probably due to the power head, not the attachment. I will run this on the slower speed from now forward so any hard object being hit by the auger will be less likely to break it. I wish there was a speed adjustment knob like the leaf blower has, as it doesn't require much speed to do the job. One other thing that this doesn't have that their snow blowers do is distance adjustment. I must be careful to not shovel in the direction of passing cars, my parked cars, my house, the neighbors houses. This could do damage to property, if it throws a hard object like rocks or even ice. So, overall, I give it 4 stars for performance and 2 stars for design and function, for an average of 3 stars. ... show more
