This LED fan light replaces our 3 incandescent bulb ceiling fan light from 1996. It still worked, but I'm switchong to more energy efficient LED light fixtures. I didn't expect a 2 pack of these light fixtures, but I can find a place to install the second one. I rated 4 out of 5 stars because of the level of difficulty of the installation. First--Take it out of the box and remove multiple plastic bag layers that are tightly wrapped around the parts. Second--Follow the included installation guide, but don't expect any photos to detail the electrical wiring. The only detail photo of wiring is of the circuit board and a closeup of the L (live or hot/black) wire and the N (neutral or white) wire. There were wrapped wires coming off of the control mechanisms that I left alone because I didn't know what purpose they'd serve. I got a bit confused about how to place the various controller components inside the main light base. Mine are just loosely set in place. I used the 3M tape to stick the wired circuit board to the white rectangular box component. The assembled fan light is challenging to install because there are no temporary wire loops or hooks to hold it near the electrical wires to make the connections. We used my husband on one ladder holding the light while I made the wire nut connections. It took both of us to ensure that all 4 slots on the light base lined up with the screws on the mounting brackets because the light base is 8 inches wide. I don't know how one person could install this alone. Our bedroom ceiling is vaulted, so we had to get creative with a longer screw on the vault side in order to mount the mounting bracket level. It's designed as flush mount and not for sloped ceilings like many other ceiling fans that come with threaded rods and slope adapters. The light works great! We could only power on the fan by using the remote control and pressing the number 1 button. The fan doesn't come on automatically with the light. There is a snall beep sound and a slight pause when you switch on the light. The fan moves air really well--better than our old fan with its longer blades. Our old fan was 42 inches diameter. The light petals on this fan are 33 inches diameter. The narrower fan blades are closer to 9 inches diameter. ... show more
