This is my 2nd Dyson in 25 years of steady use. This one did darned good in reliability and vacuuming, and I was totally satisfied with it, but I wanted to purchase a new one.....another Dyson, of course! Back when I purchased my first Dyson, a popular magazine did a thorough test of 8 different brands of vacuum cleaners. They were made to vacuum everything from cat hair to dust bunnies and heavy dirt and mud. The winner of these 8 brands?.....DYSON! That convinced me to buy that brand and I couldn't be more satisfied and happier with it. Oh, an interesting footnote they had at the end of their test which they added at the end of the article said: "And after all the brands were tested, they used the Dyson to clean up the mess the other 7 brands left behind!" Below are the issues I've experienced. I ordered this vacuum based on the deceptive description. It sounds like this is a Animal Ball 3. It is not. It is the 2. The price is hundreds higher than from the manufacturer. I was directly lied to with no real solution. After raising my concerns I was told that the 2 and 3 have the same motors. That is absolutely false information. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 and Ball Animal 3 do not share the same motor or cleaning head. The Ball Animal 3 is a newer, redesigned model featuring higher suction power (290 AW vs. 227 AW), an updated Motorbar cleaner head with de-tangling technology, and different, non interchangeable connectors. Second, the ad seems deceptive. It mentions self propelled. That sounds like the Animal Ball 3 since it is much easier to move than this one. This one is known for being very difficult to move. Being disabled, I cannot maneuver this machine effectively. I would not have ordered one that is known for being so difficult if the model had been listed. I was told they didn't mention the model. That is correct. Know that you may be sent whatever they feel like sending to you, even in the wrong color. Now I know that the model number is deliberately left out. I have to question why this is done. Lastly, the Animal Ball 3 from the manufacturer is priced at $449.99 and the one sent is currently priced at $329.99. I have paid more than either of these. I can't fathom why anyone would pay $170 more for a lesser model. The solution I was given was to return it. Not an apology for lying to me or for the misleading listing. No, I was told I need to disassemble it, repackage it, and then take the extra time to go return it. If you are considering this one, do your research. ... show more

Love this vacuum! At first, I was worried that it would have difficulty staying upright, as the older Dyson rollers I've used have issues locking (and staying!) in upright position. I was very pleased to find that is not an issue for this vacuum! It came with different attachments, which are all useful, and vacuums extremely well. The cord is nice and long, which is a huge plus so I don't have to re-plug it in several times. ... show more

First Corded Dyson and I am impressed with the suctions power. I have a Dyson stick vacuum for years but the battery dies after 15 min. This corded beast is amazing. I recommend. I say 4 star because it is heavy, 25LBS and it still overpriced!! This is worth every bit of around $250 NOT Over $300..

A year later and still it’s the suckiest vacuum I’ve ever had - this thing can make 5 year old carpet look brand new.
