Great kit and easy to build. I used two 8 ft pressure treated 2x4 and 2 12 ft 2x4 cut in half to build this out. After buying a cover I realized I needed to add a support across the top to keep the cover from sagging. This was an easy fix with 2 more 2x4

Braces are fairly lightweight but seem sturdy enough. The construction process is simple. The screws are JUNK. I would buy the product again but use my own quality screws.

For some reason, the kit has the verticals on the outside of the horizontals, which I think is not a good design. Others I have have the same distance for the horizontals, but the verticals are on the inside. That being said, the awful crosspiece brackets are too long to attach to the verticals. What an asinine move. You can attach, but they stick out past the wood, which you know you are going to walk past it and catch your clothes and rip them. Bottom is not even. Horizontal are above verticals, so if you put on cinder blocks, there is nothing supporting the horizontal, where all the weight will be. This goes back. ... show more

All went together as shown in the instructions. Set up the fire logs on it and it looks great. I hope to get at least 5 -7 years out of this rack. I do recommend tha the directions be a little more specific and show you how to place the screws into the long 2*4 (it required laying the ends on their sides to enable me to drive the screws in). ... show more
