  • Larger tanks DO fit
Pattern Name: Heater
This is a gift to my wife, haven't used yet but I can say this. Assembly was simple. Not really sure why people complained about anything. The only time I double checked the directions after reading them the first time was to ensure I was using the correct bolts for the correct place. The stainless steel certainly is not ALL T304, but I do recommend spending a few extra bucks on this one, after reading so many reviews of the cheaper models I wouldn't take that chance. Let's face it, you get what you pay for. Also, you CAN use a larger propane tank than the little one from your grill. Where I'm from, they go by pounds so the 20lb tank (grill) is fine, but the 30lb tank (in picture) fits perfectly and will help weigh it down. ... show more

  • decent value; ignitors failed in first year
Pattern Name: Heater
I bought two units in November 2018. Operationally, the units seem to have primarily one heat setting (max heat) as reduced heat settings end up being easily extinguished by light to medium breezes. In a no breeze situation, perhaps lower settings will stay lit, but I live in Indiana and it is almost always windy. After one year of use: the stamped stainless steel seems of decent quality with no rust. Secondary assembly hardware such as nuts, bolts, wheel hardware and the burner screen are all showing surface rust. I bought covers and kept these covered six months during Spring & Summer and I recommend the same. These heaters have battery operated, push button flame ignitors, and BOTH HAVE FAILED. Upon disassembly, the pushbutton metal contacts are very thin metal that has either corroded or broken off. I am currently in process with getting warranty replacements as these are about $30 each to replace and it seems that it would be a pain to replace every year. The warranty company employed might be a third party warranty company so not sure how well they will honor the warranty. Summary: these are attractive heaters and a decent value for the money, primarily can be used with one heat setting (on or off) which works fine for my purposes, ignitors are of poor quality and will need attention it appears each year. I may just take these apart at the end of the season, tape over the hole, and place them in a ziplock inside. Kind of a pain but less pain then replacing them each year. ... show more

  • A really solid product - will be purchasing a second one
Pattern Name: Heater
Now - first things first, Amazon did try and do a little bait and switch on me and wouldn't honor the lower price. That aside, I've been very impressed with this product. Easy installation, about 30ish minutes. This item was a replacement for my old Fire Sense heater which lasted about 12-13 years, with a couple of upgrades, including the Commercial grade reelected - which is what I attached to this new model Fire Sense One Piece Heavy Duty Reflector Upgrade | 38 Inch Thick Aluminum | For Gas and Propane Patio Heaters | No Assembly Required (totally worth it). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BS9W7FS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also added the wind reflector - also totally worth it. I live on the water so it can get breezy. SWEET HEAT - Heat Focusing Reflector for Round Natural Gas and Propane Patio Heaters https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084Q5S77S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It fires up instantly and generates a lot of heat. It's nice and heavy duty steel. Couple areas where I'd like to see improvement, hence why it only gets 4 out-of 5 stars. 1 - The selector is the standard one - you get with the lower grade heaters. If this a is Pro/Commercial grade heater why isn't the Commercial, heavy-gauge 1-piece reflector included 2 - The wingnuts for the reflector attachment are a joke. I replace those with stainless steel washers and coupling nuts https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RTP85RY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Smartsails 5PCS M8 X 1.25-Pitch 25mm Length 304 Stainless Steel Metric Hex Coupling Nut I'm hoping all the screws and bolts are stainlesss steel and not cheap zinc, otherwise I'll be replacing those. 3 - Biggest issue - there needs to be door access to the fuel tank instead of just having to lift it. I'll be buying a second one in the coming weeks, but I'll need to have the tank cover modified to a door access. All-in-all a good product. 01/19/2021: This is an update of my original review. It's a good product, however, the welds for the pole to the pole base are no fill welds and are very cheaply done. I learned this around 5:30am this morning when a wind storm snapped the pole from it's base. The heater was covered and strapped down. It was a clean break and was easy to tell that welds were of poor quality. This was verified by a professional welder, who is currently repairing, (rewarding) the pole to its base with proper, stronger welds. As this product is advertised as a "Commercial Grade," heater, the welds should be better and stronger. If you're in an area where you have the occasional high winds, it might not be a bad idea to have the welds reinforced by a professional. As of 09/12/2021. As stated above - I ended up purchasing a second for all the reasons mentioned above. My only issue with the manufacturer is that they didn't provide enough hardware to assemble the deck heater. Specifically, nowhere near enough M6 bolts or washers. Fortunately, I had extras to address the issue. Also one of the posts for the reflector was slightly bent, but easily fixed. That said - sloppy QA process from Fire Sense. ... show more

  • Quality material was used and it fired right up
Pattern Name: Heater
Why I purchased from Fire Sense: Many reviews told of damage or missing parts. So, I wanted to purchase my heater from a company that had a website & a customer service. Too many of the web sellers had neither. All parts were included, but the tank housing was dented and the reflector panel was scratched (I assume in shipping). Better packaging is needed. Moderately easy to assemble. Manufacturer states only 1 hour to assemble, but it took me 2.5 hours. Manual helpful, but better photos are needed to make sense of their verbiage. An example is it took me 15 min. to put the wheels on because I couldn’t understand the instructions and the drawing was useless. Photos: Dent in tank housing, wheels on, Under the tank housing, the Burn, the Reflector *I contacted Fire Sense about the tank housing and they are shipping me a new one. Suggestions: 1. Please read the manual 1st and then make sure all the parts are accounted for. 2. Extra tools that make it a little easier; 10mm, 13mm, 14mm sockets and a hammer to correct dents. An awl to help align screw holes. 3. Use a “lock tight” material on some of the screws (only a few need it). 4. Wipe down before turning on for first time. 5. Season the unit by igniting and then burning for 5-10 min. on medium. I would have given it a 5⭐️ if the packaging was better and the instruction manual was more helpful. ... show more
