The media could not be loaded. Excellent! You can even shorten (or expand) the overall length easily. You can also change the spacing of the floats if you want. My pool width is only 14ft but I bought this 20ft string so that I could shorten it and have more floats spaced close together than if I bought the shorter string which comes with fewer floats. The size of each float is slightly narrower and slightly longer than a beer can. Perfect! As I mentioned, I easily shortened this rope, but if you need to, you can also expand the length of this rope to approx 22ft. The hook is simply attached to the rope by having the end of the rope fed back into itself. To change the length of the rope (whether you want to expand it or shorten it), pull out the end of the rope from itself, then insert the end of the rope back into itself at a different point. This product was far better then expected after reading reviews by others. The rope length can easily be shortened if necessary. There is a tool included that makes the job easy. There are also stop cones that fit inside the rope which are used to fix the floats at desired spacing. I believe the problem is that there are no instructions included to help those who are not familiar as to how this system works. ... show more

    • Went Long for More Floats; Shortened to Make It Perfect

Although my pool is 16' across, I bought the 18' set with seven floats; the 16' set only has five floats which I thought to be too widely spaced. I found the two videos on YouTube - one to shorten the rope and the other to move the floats. Both videos were easy to search/find and were very helpful to show me how to adjust the set for my pool. With just 1/2 hour and one adult beverage, I was able to cut and adjust the set to fit perfectly. I am glad I got the longer set as the extra floats over the shorter length really make the rope easy to see for both kids and the folks watching the kids. ... show more

I am very happy with this pool safety rope. The floats themselves are hard plastic and stay afloat pretty well. I had to shorten the rope by about 18" for my pool which was easy and simple to do. I suspect this rope will hold up for a few years (before sun damage or chlorine wear) and needing to be replaced. I feel much better having a way to rope off the deep end of the pool for the little ones - glad I purchased. ... show more

I have an inground pool that measures 20x40. I ordered the 20foot rope and I probably should have ordered the 18foot option as I didn't account for the hooks being inside not outside the pool. I shortened it by tying a small knot in one end. The product itself is exactly as described and will hold up very well. I would recommend this product for the price ... show more

Well made good divider. I have a 18' x 38' pool. So i bought the 18' wide divider. Only problem is this rope is definitely longer than 18 feet. About and extra 3 feet longer. You can adjust it to the length you prefer and it comes with the tool to make it easier but if you like a perfect fit without all the adjustment hassle like i do i would prefer getting a size smaller like a 16' if you have a 18' wide pool. Not a deal breaker but it's just my preference. Still a good purchase and it will serve its purpose. ... show more
