Bought for critter nation cage used by squirrel. She enjoys laying on the platforms with the cloth covers and they prevent (so far) her from chewing up the expensive to replace plastic trays. The hammock anchors didn't last long, and they do have small metal springs in them. These are great but why the velcro straps for the half levels? Why not make them just like the lower and upper level covers? I cut all the Velcro off, and took the stitching out of one end of the half level covers. That way they just slide on just like the upper/lower level covers. Geesh!

My first ferret was having trouble with using her litter pan all of the time so I tried this to see if it would help her to stop messing in her cage. It did just that. The velcro straps on the smaller covers need to go! It would be perfect if they were slip-ons just like the larger covers. I can't imagine why they were made that way. It makes it very difficult to secure the smaller covers. Other than that, I (and the rats) do love the covers.

The shelf and tray covers are the way to actually make the plastic trays of the Ferret Nation and Critter Nation cages "chew resistant." My chinchilla never tried to chew on the shelves while these were on; however, he did like to try pulling them off of the half shelves. I stopped using them, however, for they reasons. First, they were magnets for the hay and it had to be plucked off by hand. Second, I did not like running feces and urine through my laundry. Third, they were difficlt to secure to the half shelves. If these things do not bother you, they are a must have. They were just not right for me, hence, 4 stars. If they do bother you, and you have an animal that chews, consider a different, all metal cage. ... show more

I love these covers WAY MORE than the blue/purple fleece covers I bought when I got the cage. These covers are easier to get on and off the shelves/ramps, and easier to clean (wood shavings and little poops don't stick to these like they do to fleece) - they can easily be swept clean. The only issue I had is that the ramp covers are too short. They do cover the entire ramp, but they are supposed to extend beyond the one end of the ramps so that the velcro sewn into the end can be closed. I can't close the velcro. Not a big deal - I'll just get creative and see if I can come up with another solution. ... show more
