Good quality 95% plastic so it's very easy to clean and keep clean. We have two dwarf rabbits and this gives them a lot of room to run around and be safe. This was bought to be used inside and gives them a nice home for night time fun and when we are away. The only problems or concerns were with shipping, the item comes in a huge box even with the best packing there is a good chance the box will get damaged. The damage is a result of the size of the box and shipping companies that don't care. Since the item is made of durable plastic and is packaged very well it should be OK, that said there are a few small parts that may fall out of any holes in the box created during shippment. Our first shippment was missing one of the feet instead of shipping just the parts missing we received a second one in whole, this one came with all the parts but again the box had seen better days. ... show more

I hate to leave a bad review but this is not a stable structure for a feisty bunny. The outside box was not damaged but the hutch had several small broken pieces which made it hard to put together and the external structure did not stay steady. The only things salvaged were the bottom tray and the top tray which are currently being used to place their litter boxes . The rest of it was placed on the street for garbage pickup. Not a bad indoor hutch at all. Keep in mind my rating is based on OUR experience and we have a larger rabbit. It's fairly sturdy, but overall, would not withstand a Nevada desert year outdoors with the extreme temp changes (as much as 60 degrees a day) and sun exposure that is very intense, and absolutely would not stand up to feral dogs and coyotes. We love our rabbit enough we decided to put him indoors in our living room though and this hutch has worked out fairly good. There are a couple improvements we would have made. We put ours on a set of those furniture robots/furniture sliders and that makes it raise up high enough that we can slide the bottom tray out on carpet easier and we can get to the hay feeder on the back side of the bottom story easier. It makes cleaning easier too. Our rabbit has also enjoyed that we put a play pen around his hutch so he can come in and out as often as he wants. The picture is off in that the ramp comes down by the lower story front sliding wire door, not by the bottom story right end. It also took us a bit to figure out that the lifting lid latch doesn't work quite as they describe, but it is secure. The plastic slide out trays are somewhat textured and we clean them with a vinegar/water solution. We feed with timothy hay and the included hay feeder on the bottom floor since he is a large rabbit and they defecate where they eat, and the litter tray wouldn't fit upstairs, so the hay falls through. We do use a pellet feeder upstairs and he doesn't defecate up there since he doesn't get too many pellets and spends only a little time eating there. Pros: Sturdy. Airy. Two-story. Well thought out design. Decent build quality. Easy enough to assemble if you are familiar with DIY assembly/IKEA-type furniture. We did a lot of assembly on its side. The crossbars were the most difficult part to work with while building. Look for building videos. They helped. There are some modifications that a person familiar with basic handywork can make so if it isn't a perfect implement, you can work with it to make this ideal. Size works for guinea pigs to mid and large sized rabbits (up to maybe 7 pounds at most). I can see that if I were to get a second rabbit, I could remove the right end bottom story wire mesh grate and add a wood nesting box and we'd be fine. Cons: L-shaped lower wire-mesh makes for a hard time attaching hay feeders as the hay falls through to the ground too easily (watch for the rabbit to run out of timothy hay at least twice a day). Included hay feeder was modified to make this better but still doesn't solve the problem. Included water bottle was rejected by rabbit. Had to get glass bottles. Couldn't fit full size litter bin. Had to cut wood back for ramp to fit my 6-pound rabbit, so having an adjustable ramp would have been a better idea (I cut the cross-bar back and re-attached the eyelets so my rabbit could fit easier). Make the doors a bit larger and add a door to the bottom story below the top story's end door. That end is completely inaccessible otherwise. Last, the rabbit tends to hide under the nesting box on the top story where you can't reach him, so good luck figuring out how to block him from going under there when you want to pull him out (there is no built-in block, so having a drop-down block added in would be nice). The cons would make it sound terrible, but it depends on what you are using it for. If you feed upstairs and you use it for a smaller rabbit, then it would require almost no changes, so it might be perfect out of the box. It really depends on the lens you view it through. Our rabbit wound up being bigger than we thought and even grew a little on us after we adopted him. That may not be your problem. ... show more

I was so excited for this hutch, but after taking 3 hours to put together, roof came cracked, and top tray is missing a corner (broken) even tho they cracked parts don't effect the hutch but that's still a lot of money to spend for it not to be in perfect condition I would send it back but can't since it's all put together. Pros- it's beautiful, and there's a lot of space for 1 or 2 rabbits to live happily in between play times, it is sturdy once it's in the spot you want it. Cons- Very enclosed I bought it for indoor use and I can't see my bunny at all, Tiny door at the bottom hard to fit anything through, bottom tray doesn't pull out easy on carpet, front wire side can fall out easy when moving the cage, only doors at the top of the cage are plastic and small, and you cant really get the bunny from opening the roof cause the cage is so tall (I'm 5'8" and had to stand on my tip toes to reach in). It took me 3 hours to put together I had no help, but nothing is labeled you have only pictures to look at. I'm not using the cage so it's just sitting in my garage since I put it together and can't send it back. ... show more

Perfect size. My rabbit loves her new home. It takes a little time to assemble but it's fairly easy. Only down side to it is not very easy access for you to fix your pet's accessories in the hutch. It should have 2 little doors at the bottom, one in the left like it is but also one at the right side as well for easy access to the bottom part of the hutch. Besides that it's a great quality heavy duty plastic, which is perfect for rabbits. Very happy with it. ... show more
