  • Possibly the best gaming chair for under$300!
Color: Black
I purchased this chair back in October of 2020, and it has been fantastic! It's my office chair, so I'm sitting in it for long periods of time. I had purchased chairs from Killabee before, but weren't overly happy with them. I'm a somewhat average sized dude (5'9" and 200 lbs) and most of the other Killabee chairs just felt a bit small to me. I saw this one from Killabee's Fantasylab line, and I wanted to give it a shot. PROS The seat is wide and very comfortable. It doesn't feel like it's hugging my butt, and the cushioning is great for all day sitting. The armrests are adjustable, and you can easily dial in the perfect height and position. The leathery material has help very well the past two years, so I would have to say the quality of materials used are excellent. The material used in the seat is a breathable mesh, so you won't overheat as easily. Aside from the neck and lumbar pillows, there's no gaudy branding, so it blends into an office setting with no issues. CONS The seat fans are a great idea on paper. They do in fact keep your downtown wrap-around cool, but if you've been sweating and gathering a funk all day, that smell is getting blown right into your face. God forbid you fart while the fans are on. Another thing to note about the fans, there's not much cushioning where they are in the seat, ,so you can sometimes feel the fan housings if you move the right way. The lumbar pillow is a bit too big to be comfortable or useful, but without it, there's no lumbar support whatsoever. Overall, this chair has definitely stood the test of time, and the few small cons are greatly outweighed by the pros of this chair. I own an AndaSeat Kaiser 3 which I also love, but for half the price, the Fantasylab can't be beat. I would definitely purchase this again. ... show more

  • Cords for fans and cushion vibration are simply horrible...bad!
Color: Black
The basic chair itself is really nice, but anything to do with the seat fans or the back pillow i.e. power connections, simply suck. There is absolutely no thought process to integrate the fan controls or back cushion controls into anything useful. We like the basic chair, but we do not like the seat fan controls or the back cushion controls. Every time one of us gets up we trip over the chair's cords. Even then, the seat fan controls are lacking and so is the power of the seat fans...you barely feel any air from the fans. The air coming from the fans is minimal at best. We'll keep these just so we don't have the issue of returns, but we won't buying them again. ... show more

  • Real, in depth review.
Color: Black
First... A little about me. I am a network admin who currently works from home and a gamer. So often times I am in my chair for 15 hours a day. I am 6'1" and weigh 330 lbs give or take 10 lbs. I will review this chair based on the above for first day (assembly, initial quality, initial comfort, and style) I will update the review in a month or so then update every 6 or so months after. Also at the time I purchased there were only 7 reviews (all fake) so I took a chance and decided to do a in depth review to service others in their purchasing decision. I purchased this chair with my own money, and was in no way in contact with the manufacturer/seller. 100% went out on a lem on this one. Let me be the giniepig. Lol. Day 1 Review: Packaging was very good, bubble wrap on all the hard parts. There was no damage at all during shipping. Assembly was normal for one of these type of chairs... Fairly easy however I take my time so it tool me about an hour. I take the time to lube all the connection points where there are screws, the casters, the gas lift on both sides, arms rests etc. Basically I put white lithium greese on everything. This prevents squeaking. TAKE THE TIME TO DO THIS. Essential step for any chair for larger people. The initial quality is pretty good. Better than expected for a sub $300 chair. I see no obvious flaws other than the leather on the backrest having a slight wave (this will go away with use I'm sure). Initial comfort is top notch. I was concerned with the fans in the seat cushion that I'd be able to feel them, so far I can't feel them which is good. The adjustments are great for comfort although it sits pretty tall even at lowest height... Not too tall. Just could be maybe 2β€œ lower. The fans work well, the seat bottom has a mesh area on both sides and draws air from the bottom of the chair through to your butt. Can definitely feel the air. The fans turn off automatically after 30min. So be sure to keep turning them back on to stay cool. This definitely adds to the comfort. The size is perfect for me... If I were fatter it would be tight around the lower back side area. But it hold me perfect for my size. I was worried it would be too small but it's just right. I didn't try the back pillow and likely won't as I find those don't work for me, it does have a message function in it though see photo for the controls for that and for the fan. Initial comfort overall is top notch. Styling is better than expected too... None of the pictures showed the chair without the headrest and back rest. It's nice that there is no branding on the chair itself so I can have a stealth work zoom call without it saying "fantasy lab" to my coworkers. So for day one... I'd rate this chair out of 5... A 5. If that changes I will update the review. 7 day update: Still enjoying this chair. I have a lot less soreness in my posterior than with a 400 staples executive chair that this replaced. I had that last chair for 3 weeks and it was terrible. This new one allows me 12+ hours with minimal soreness if any. I could not initially feel the fans but I can say now that I can on occasion... They are not so intrusive that it causees discomfort though... Barely noticeable to be honest. I am getting a little creeking out of the tilt base... I may try to get some lithium greese in there (this is the one place I did not lube) also there is a bit of wobble on that connection from the seat to the base/gas shock. Not bad enough to be distracting but noticeable... I find this to be normal for this sort of chair though. Still 5 out of 5. I will update again in some months time. 4 month update So the seat foam has flattened like many other chairs, you can definitely feel the fans quite a bit once it gets to the point of heavily broken in. It's still comfortable compared to other chairs at this point that I have had. I never use the fans now as I moved to a house with better air con also its cold outside so it's not needed regardless. Because the foam flattened in 4 months anf the fans can be felt kinda moving around I removed one star. If it flattens more or become less comfortable I will update again. ... show more
