  • Better than expected Better than expected
This is amazing! Way bigger than I expected and could probably house four adult rats comfortably. The only downsides are that the water bottle can only be pink and you need two people to assemble, and my bottom tray was broken, but no big deal. Great customer service in helping get the broken tray replaced. ... show more

  • DONT BOTHER WITH PRODUCTS FROM THIS SELLER
I purchased this cage for three rats. It claims up and down that the cage is great for small animals. Completely wrong. This cage would have let me rats out IN A snap. When the cage got here. I open and the box and started to try and put this cage together. GOOD LUCK. The instructions are horrible. The cage was so cheaply made AND NOT STURDY. The metal was crooked and I couldn’t even get the cage to form properly. When I finally started to get it into place. The corners of the cage are way wider then they claim. Which would have resulted in my rats squeezing out. Which is what they claim not to happen with this so called AMAZING cage. I then noticed pieces were missing. At this point I put it into the box and was just done with it. Then I had return this product. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. I have already paid for shipping I’ve. And now I had to go in and pay OUT OF POCKET a second time to send this item back. Which is horrible. So I paid it and asked them to refund it since the reason I am returning the product is not my fault and they write back and tell me they don’t refund shipping costs. So now o am in the middle of trying to get my money back from the cage and waiting on that. And also have to do a claim with Amazon so who knows if I will get that second shipping cost of $50 back. Seriously don’t bother. This company has cheap products and does not work with you when returning the cheaply made product. RUN ... show more

  • Best price for space cage for rats
Like others said its pretty flimsy but due to its shape and design its pretty easy to reinforce. Assembling it was relatively easy with two people but you do a tool that can squeeze the metal hooks closed on each connecting part to fully assemble it. Can easily house 3-4 rats, probably more with more frequent cleaning. Was even able to keep a adult mouse inside for two weeks before it figured out how to escape, which is surprising considering its not made to contain pets that small and that mouse explored often. If you want to reinforce it don't use metal zip ties as they dont get small/tight enough. Best thing with this cage is the space your getting for the price you pay. Due to the price to space ratio I would honestly not consider getting any other cage for a while. Yes it isn't sturdy but how often would you be moving a cage like this to justify the thick bars on the smaller $200+ cages? I would probably only consider some sort of modular cage over this but even joining two of these together shouldn't be impossible with the right tools and materials. Even with more money for better cages I would probably still get this and try just that due to the allure of the extra space. The flimsiness of it does make wheels quite bouncy, but the base of the whole thing is sturdy enough to fix that if you try to anchor it in various ways to the bottom sides of the cage. ... show more

  • NOT safe for ferrets NOT safe for ferrets
We originally bought this cage because our teenage daughter wanted rats for Christmas. However, after more research, we decided on a ferret instead...but had already ordered this cage. I noticed it said it was for ferrets so thought we could try it. It quickly became clear that this is not a safe cage for ferrets. Ferrets like to climb....and they FALL (like a lot). And the wire shelves can cause ferret paws to get caught. I thought we could just rearrange the shelves to make this a two level cage, but this was not as easy as I thought it would be. You cannot lay the shelves side by side where the doors are and still open the doors. I ended up getting out the pliers and the wire cutters and making it work, for now. I put the tray on top of the wire floor for the first level. I combined three shelves with the small ladder to make the second floor by placing one shelf on each side and connecting them by laying the third shelf across them. I used the small ladder to make the second floor a little roomier and the opening to it smaller (so he wouldn't fall through). I used two of the ladders side by side to make the ramp from the first to the second floor. I then cut out cardboard to lay across the wire shelves and the ramp. I covered the ramp with tube socks. By the time I finished rigging this thing up I was covered in scratches and bruises! But it works for now and our ferret is happy with his home. We will use this until we can get a Ferret Nation cage. ... show more

  • Product review
This is the second cage I’ve purchased. It’s a bit of a pain to put together, takes at least two people. With this last cage it didn’t come with a black tray like the last one did, really could have used it. I also had to use zip ties to hold two doors shut as I was worried my sugar gliders could put it open enough to get out. Not sure what the difference was between the white cage and the black cage for it to have been a little loose. But it will serve its purpose for now. The cage is very steady and moves with ease. ... show more

  • Nice, large, great price. Nice, large, great price.
It was very easy to assemble, don't listen to the bad reviews. It took me about 2 hours, on my own - female, you just have to be smarter than the cage. It comes with pre-assembled top - back to the cage, with 3 additional panels. The directions are of photos, you don't have to be a genius to figure it out. You will need to tighten the wire latches to keep the cage together. I assembled the top - back side to the left & right panel first, only tightening the first 3 latches down on all 4 sides, top. Then I flipped it upside down to assemble the area for the tray, just make sure everything is even. Continue to tighten remaining latches. I will say I am purchasing 6 mini padlocks for the top & bottom of each entry door, the latches works fine but if you have a smart critter, they could escape by pushing their head with enough force, through the top or bottom of of each latched door. Not a big deal to me, 6 mini locks purchasing from Dollar Tree. Definitely worth the price for the cage, I love it !!! 🥰 Just for the record, I have a squirrel that wandered onto my porch before his eyes were even opened, I raised him. He's great 🐿 !!! ... show more

  • 36” 4 floor
Color: Black 36" 4-Level
This is very very cheap and flimsy. It came bent and I had to straighten things out. It’s thinner than anything I’ve ever had experience with. Buyer beware on this one. I gave it 2 stars because after modding it to house a pet rat it will do just fine but if sending it back was an easier option I would have. Spend a little more and get better quality. It’s a riddle to build but wasn’t that bad. Don’t buy this unless you want to mod it to make it better. ... show more

  • Buy a pack of zip ties, grab some pliers and don’t expect a $400 cage! Buy a pack of zip ties, grab some pliers and don’t expect a $400 cage!
This is our 2nd purchase- an upgrade from a smaller cage for our 4 1/2 month old rattie fat boys. We bought the first one back in June for our 2 girls- one female was pregnant ( what a surprise for us!) and had 9 babies so at one point 11 rats lived happily in this cage! We kept 2 boys and just got this new one delivered today. After the Pain in backside the first one was to put together ( instructions suck- not the sellers fault its made in China they just resell the thing) this one literally took me 10 minutes to pop it in place and make sure everything lined up properly- we zip tie a side in a few places for added stability and then pop the other side open to add our larger enrichment items, pop it back in place and zip tie for stability. We also use the tray as the floor of the cage on the bottom and put it on top of the wire mesh inside the cage. It’s really easy to clean with my little dust broom- wipe it down -add new bedding and litter when I clean the cages. On the girls we added clear urine guards on each level and some cage spring closures to fortify the doors on both cages. We also zip tied it to the base for additional support and safety as well as easily rolling it wherever we need it. Its super lightweight and can easily be picked up by the handles on the sides. Yes it is flimsy looking and I was not happy when my husband ordered the first cage after I read the reviews, but a little patience and an extra few bucks on the zip ties and cage closure springs makes all the difference! We had a bar or two pop loose but even that was easily repaired. Obviously not enough negatives to keep me from buying a second cage :) you absolutely cannot get this much cage space for a better price. Anyway, my rats love their homes and we have no complaints! ... show more
