I've found the Palint 12 ft. Stainless Steel Metal Garden Hose with Brass Fittings to be of exceptional quality and have a very expensive look to it. It appears to be a very durable hose that should withstand a lot of the wear and tear garden hoses are subjected to here on the farm. The stainless steel construction is very durable and the first thing I liked is that this hose doesn't kink like the cheap plastic hoses. With 12 feet of length to work with, it would be difficult to get the Palint hose to become bound up or kinked in everyday use. I should also mention that the stainless steel construction could potentially deter any of our livestock and pets such as dogs from chewing on the hose. I've had this issue often with plastic hoses and an anxious pup or two. I chose the shorter length Palint hose to simply be able to use this garden hose directly from our frost free hydrant next to the driveway. I can easily use the Palint hose to connect our power washer and proceed to wash the mud and dirt from our vehicles. I won't be wrestling with longer hose runs that tend to get tangled around things. I've spent countless money on plastic hoses from the cheapest to the most expensive "commercial grade" hoses, and at best I get around two to three years tops out of any of them for a variety of reasons, usually relative to the materials used in the construction. So it will be interesting to see how the Palint hose compares in longevity to the other hoses. Our rough ground terrain and hard water, as well as higher elevation and the intense Colorado sunlight all take a real toll on anything outside having to do with water. The Palint hose arrives with two extra hose washers, and the fittings on both ends (brass), are designed in such a way that they are easy to connect and disconnect without unnecessary hand strain. I ordered the Palint hose for review during a time when were still having sub freezing temperatures, and the hose didn't seem to keep any extra water inside to freeze up when I connected it and put it into operation several mornings. I'm thinking to that if the Palint hose did become plugged with ice, the hose should warmup quicker in the sun that would a plastic garden hose. As with any hose in the winter, especially in regards to frost free hydrants, I don't keep any type of hoses connected during freezing weather. Overall I find the Palint garden hose to be of very excellent quality and definitely worth the price when comparing plastic hoses to stainless steel hoses. As this is the very first stainless steel hose that I have owned and used, because the Palint hose is rather lightweight in overall weight compared to other hoses, I will likely be trying a few longer length stainless steel garden hoses, perhaps from the manufacturer. If you want a garden hose that looks very upscale and is very functional, you may want to look no further than this hose style. I would and will highly recommend it to others. We've been through a whole lot of hoses in the last number of decades. The vinyl hoses are heavy and kink. They also harden in a few years, if the animals don't bite through them first. The expandable hose worked well in the garden, since it would automatically retract with the water shut off, but would break if tugged on too much. The polyester covered hose has done the best, as it's held up quite well so far, but it too would kink at times. So I'm off to try something new: a stainless steel spiral wrapped hose. I don't yet know about long term durability, since it hasn't even gone through even one season, but it looks promising. The hose has sturdy brass connectors on either end and the inner lining is armored with a stainless steel shell. I don't think you'd get a kink out of this if you tried. The stainless steel shell should keep it's fine appearance and not degrade in the sun. It is light weight--much lighter and maneuverable that that old vinyl hose. So far I am impressed. I've been using it lately to replace an old vinyl hose that was difficult to work with (heavy and stiff in the cold weather) for washing all the muck off my gear after trail work parties. It's been a pleasure to use. Now, I haven't given it a serious long term workout, so I don't know what may happen if it gets stepped on while on a hard surface. Will it bend or crush the metal shell? It's not likely that I'll try that on purpose, but I do wonder if that may be it's weak point. ... show more

    • Seems Tough and Durable
I have started using a number of the newer variety of steel wrapped hoses. I wanted a shorter one to use on our RV as an outside water source for washing feet, the dog, etc. This has been perfect for that and the 12’ length was perfect for our intended purpose. This is NOT a drinking water safe hose (that is not mentioned in the ad). So, even though we are using it with our camper, it is NOT providing water to the camper…just an extra outside hose for outside things. So far, we are very pleased with this. So easy to store! Thanks. MY PERSONAL COMMENTS: I am an approved Amazon Vine Member.     • Great replacement hose
I am putting an addition onto my house including an additional external faucet so needed a new hose. Have never tried stainless steel versions before so thought I would give this one a whirl. I’m not sure what I expected but this definitely was not it. Compared to my usual rubber hose, this one is much smaller and so far doesn’t seem to kink. I assumed steel would be heavy but this one is only a fraction of the weight of my rubber hoses and very easy to move around. So far no kinking and it is so much smaller than the rubber one that it will be very easy to coil and store. It has brass fittings for attachments at each end. The only drawback I have found so far is that the brass fittings are a little thin and were not too easy to attach – had to use a wrench to get it tight, and even then it leaks a little. I think I can fix the leaking easily with a little plumber’s tape but haven’t tried it yet – still amazed at how light and easy this one is to use. Haven’t had it long enough yet to know how durable it will be but so far it has been great and wish I had switched from rubber hoses years ago – I’m assuming I will have this one for many, many years. ... show more
