This backpack has so many perks that I haven't seen some other backpacks have. I got the dual expandable one and I'm so happy I did. I will say I use this as my daily cat carrier too, not just my hiking one, for many reasons that I explain below. Pros/Favorite Features: * The side mesh (not the full tent mess), can expand to be wider so that my cat has more space and ventilation without losing stability while I wear it. A couple I've seen only have a window or small holes, so I like the bottom and side ventilation. * The mesh tent part has been wonderful for long car rides. It provides enough room that even two adult cats could fit in (though one is still better). There is also a zipper in the middle if you want to open the mesh up and do things inside. * There is a harness clip on the inside so that if you wanted to open up the top or any other part of the backpack, your cat can't jump out. There is only one though and I don't recommend fitting two adult cats in the backpack * The side pocket I didn't expect I would get use out of, but it's been surprisingly helpful! If my cat gets anxious during the car ride, I can open it up and pet them without having to take them out and get cat hair everywhere. Plus it gives me access to the bottom of the backpack easier without having to open the top. * The backpack straps are very comfortable and I can clip two straps across my chest like I would a hiking backpack. It makes the backpack stay on more securely. The top handle as well is sturdy and I can lift it with no worry of my cat being too heavy. * The three bottom holes are just large enough that I can fit cat treats through them to praise my cat while they are inside. Which helps when I bring both to the vet and one gets anxious when the other is out. Cons: * The clear hard cover can get scuffed and scratched pretty easily (not by cat claws, but other objects) and that can make looking through or inside a bit annoying. I haven't gotten any serious ones yet, but you might want to put a protective coating on it just in case. * It's not the easiest to clean if, say, your cat pees inside it. Sure the bubble comes off, but I don't believe you can run it through the washer and dryer. It's very much spot clean only and it's not easy to put a pee pad in because of it's odd shape. It does dry fast though by air dry. But if your cat is prone to accidents, you probably want a strap carrier than a backpack. * It's not a con for me since I got two, but this is most comfortable with only one cat. You could probably fit two in with the side expansion, but there is still only one harness clip, and if your cats are big it'll be a tight squeeze. Since we go on hikes with my husband, I just wear one cat in the front and one in the back while he carries the backpack with our supplies. Why this over a typical carrier? For one, I really like carrying a backpack over a side strap like most fabric cat carriers. The even distribution makes my shoulders feel better and it's convenient to slip in and out of. It's also hard with my small frame to keep them level so my cat doesn't slide around when I move or go up and down stairs. The backpack handles are also larger and comfier to grip than plastic and fabric cat carriers I've seen. Not all, but enough that even if I can't put two on my back, carrying one is easy. To me, the only downside to this one in particular compared to a typical carrier is if my cat has an accident. My cats have only had 1 so far and I was still able to clean it even if it was a hassle. Hands down I'd pick this backpack over a carrier any day (except for flying).

We bought this bag for our cat. She seems very comfortable when we carry her outdoor in it. The bag has sufficient space for a relatively large cat such as a ragdolll. The holes on the bag also allow us to put our fingers in to comfort the cat when she gets slightly nervous when a big dog or truck passes by. The on,y reason I’ve given the bag only a 4 star review is that it still has the new product smell after a week.I would recommend to leave the bag in a place that has good ventilation for the smell go away more quickly.

Haven’t used it for walks yet, but have it set fully expanded so my cat can be used to it and not scared when I try to get her in. I’ve had it set for a few weeks and she goes in all the time and lays down to nap for hours, so cat approved so far!

My 17 pound cat is ENORMOUS and he fits *WITH EXTRA ROOM* I absolutely love the tent feature and it's great for when I have to take my cats somewhere. My smaller cat loves to crawl inside this and sleep I just leave the door open and it's like her own little cat bed.

I was very iffy when purchasing this but I needed a backpack to take my puppy with me so I won’t have to leave her alone at home. It was very roomy for her bc she’s on the smaller side, and provides the the space extended if needed. I would put a blanket or something at the bottom so you pet is comfy but other than that it’s a great carrier.
