The media could not be loaded. Martin really likes it. He is slightly large at 19 pounds. He had no trouble turning around in it. It seems very sturdy. I had no trouble putting it together at all. It did not smell weird or anything either. Great for taking him to vet for his diet checkup!

Affordable and Good Quality. Very easy to assemble. Before adding the screws to the structure I placed the door in and then secured the two structures. Like don't try to put the door in after you bolt the top and bottom together. Sturdy and really great price! I bought this for new kittens. I put inside a pet bassinet and at night time the kittens go inside because they're at the stage of crawling and exploring. To keep them safe when I'm not home to monitor escaping kittens. Fits 5 super kittens ( bigger than regular kittens) Comfortably for overnight. I put a cloth pee pad down inside. Also helpful and handy to take my senior 12 lb dog to the vet . I read the reviews before I purchase anything. It's everything I read and more!!! I'm really impressed with the ruggedness and durability factor. I didn't notice any smell. This is a great cat carrier. Once I figured out how both of the doors worked, it was easy to do. It is very sturdy. I carried a sixteen pound cat in it easily. He had a lot of room in there, and even liked to lay in it at home. The carrier is not too heavy and great quality.

This carrier does have a convenient top loading feature!! It opens from either side on top or simply remove the top panel and load your little Tiger into the carrier easily and quickly. It’s a great buy!     • Perfect size and good for a cat who was wetting his soft carrier

We have a cat who has always been a nervous traveller, but recently started wetting whenever he is placed in his soft carrier. The soft carrier is hard to wash, so after the most recent incident (a vet visit), it occurred to me that a hard carrier would be much easier to clean. With this in mind I started a pretty comprehensive search and found that while the PetMate carriers seem to get the best reviews for build quality, there were none that were the right size for a 13lb adiult cat. Their smallest is tiny, and the next one up seems too big to carry. I ideally wanted a 2 door carrier, and a one that would work in the car, but could also be carried the few block to our vet. Somehow I came across this Amazon carrier and I have to say it's perfect. I love that the two halves screw together so there is no chance of separation, it is exactly the right size, and the top and front gates seem to work well. To help with the wetting issue I just put a couple of disposable puppy pad in the bottom, but oddly enough our cat seemed less stressed in this carrier on the last vet trip and did not wet. If he had, it would have been a super easy cleanup with the disposable puppy pads and hard case. The only negative to this carrier would be that the handle could be a little more sturdy feeling and bigger/more comfortable. It feels like it could fail even though it was ok going to and from the vet recently. The plastic is solid enough, though with a medium weight cat the top will flex a bit when lifting. Lastly the price is fantastic for everything this carrier offers, and it's actually attractive looking. Overall it's a great product and I am very happy with it. ... show more

I bought this to take my feral neighborhood cat to the vet. It got here overnight and in perfect shape. It was easy to assemble using the instructions provided. It seems pretty sturdy. It has 2 ways of entering, the front and the top.itd not that heavy by itself. It has no padding obviously since it is a hard top carrier. ... show more

I bought two of these pet carriers and I am very pleased. They are just as pictured. I did read the reviews and will comment accordingly. They were very easy to put together. Each only took a few minutes and I did not even need the instructions. I read one review that mentioned common sense, and yes, that is all it takes. I did choose to use the screws, as I have one big cat and the other one is anxious and has broken out of a previous carrier before, which is why I chose a more solid one this time. A break out won’t happen in this one. To insert the screws, just turn the carrier upside down. The nut can be put in place and the screws can easily be tightened. I saw a review complain that a screwdriver is needed. But seriously, who doesn’t have a screwdriver? However, I could tighten the screws enough by hand that I could have left it that way and had it be good enough. I did choose to finish tightening it with a screwdriver though. The top opening works well, you just have to turn the flaps up (which unlocks it) before you pull them forward to open it. Then reverse that, to close it. You could do that one side at a time to make it easier if needed. Overall, I am glad I chose these carriers. I will buy again if I need more in the future and would recommend these to others. I will be adding some sort of padding/bed to it for added pet comfort and so that they don’t slip and slide on the plastic. For dogs, I could put my (not small) chihuahua in it with plenty of room, but I would not choose to smoosh my larger-sized Frenchie in it. ... show more
