Easy to assemble, sturdy, and secure. Cats haven't had any issues with it, nice and roomy for the average sized cat. Metal door is easy to pinch to open (I have arthritis and dont have any issues with it). The top also separates from the bottom though, if you need it. Overall very happy with this carrier, especially for the money spent.

This crate had all parts included at arrival. I purchased this two-toned gray crate as a new product and received it as such. I would have immediately returned if it had been used or damaged. I assembled without any problems. The crate made with medium heavy plastic on 1/2 sides down, back and bottom with 4” inserted wire windows into plastic sections which secured the safety of the crate even more. I observed no exposed wire ends around the three inserted wire windows. The front gate seemed heavy duty and sturdy and was installed without problems. I placed the crate back on the floor and easily installed all four corner wires into designated holes at the same time for a safe/secure fit. I appreciated these holes were built up above the level of the top for added security fit. My dog weighs approx 10-11lbs. She is a small mixed dachshund/chihuahua. I would not recommend a larger dog or cat because I observed a strain on the top of gate when I carried her inside. The top of the crate would stretch and cause the gate wires to come out of their designated holes. The door could not be opened until I lifted the crate with her inside again and easily returned the gate wires to their designated holes. I would not recommend forcing the gate for fear of breaking the plastic holes or bending the gate door. I appreciate the door can be opened on either the left or right side. I appreciate the dual plastic locking devices…arthritic fingers. I would not recommend carrying a pet inside this crate for a long length of time. I suggest making the end door wires a bit longer so a bolt can be screwed to each wire end for added stability when the plastic crate pulls away from the gate wires. I bought this crate for safety while on short trips, shopping, distress alleviating exercises and while I vacuum and mop. She is terrified of all common home noises and mortified of being outside either with me or fear of being left outside alone. My little dog was one of a dozen small dogs living their entire lives in a small wire cage OUTSIDE in a horrible hoarding situation. Her dew claws are permanently damaged due to being caught in the floor wires and broken away from her foot bone. After a week of seeing this crate, short entries (all while holding the carrier) she now enters it on her on and rests peacefully. The bottom is sturdy and safe and all wire window inserts pose no threat to her safety and allows her to see me from all sides of the crate as I move around her. I did not need instructions to assemble this crate. 15 mins total. I am 67 years old.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I decided it was time to get a cat carrier that opens from the top as well after struggling to get my cat out of the front entrance of the carrier I had previously when we were at the vet. I went with this carrier since the price was reasonable. It was very easy to assemble in about 5 minutes (and I'm usually terrible at assembling things). I've only used it once taking my cat to the vet but so far it seems sturdy, and the top opening makes getting my cat in and our much easier.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: We need a hard carrier for our cat. This seemed like a good value for money. I like the door on the top, and the carrier seems sturdy. However, it was missing a nut for one of the bolts that hold the top and bottom together. Amazon's form states that they can't send parts, and I don't want to disassemble it to return it. I'll get a nut at the hardware store. Count your parts before you start assembly.

This is a nice, sturdy, attractive carrier that is spacious enough but also cozy enough for our approximately 12 pound cat. Our cat really never travels, so this carrier is mostly just for emergency trips to a vet or the very rare vacation at Grandma's house if we're out of town for more than a few days. It's nice having a clean carrier ready to go if needed. When not needed, the top comes off and it gets stored beneath the bed. This is so much nicer than the collapsible soft carrier that we used to use.

Affordable and Good Quality. Very easy to assemble. Before adding the screws to the structure I placed the door in and then secured the two structures. Like don't try to put the door in after you bolt the top and bottom together. Sturdy and really great price! I bought this for new kittens. I put inside a pet bassinet and at night time the kittens go inside because they're at the stage of crawling and exploring. To keep them safe when I'm not home to monitor escaping kittens. Fits 5 super kittens ( bigger than regular kittens) Comfortably for overnight. I put a cloth pee pad down inside. Also helpful and handy to take my senior 12 lb dog to the vet . I read the reviews before I purchase anything. It's everything I read and more!!! I'm really impressed with the ruggedness and durability factor. I didn't notice any smell. If I did I would've aired it out. But everything is satisfactory. Delivered without any damage issues. I highly recommend this pet carrier.

This is the best, it is built strong, although I wish the carry handle were stronger, but that is a problem for every one of these no matter what brand. This uses bolts and nuts to hold it together so this is very strong and will last a long time. The door is very solid and has good weight to it. The metal bars provide the most ventilation and ability for your car to see out from. This is a good size too, it should easily hold from my smallest to largest cats. My large cats are not those ones you need two arms to hold because they are huge. I would recommend something much bigger for those huge cats. I mean large heavy tabby cats like a Garfield cat would easily fit in this, and have plenty of room to stand and move around with.
