Top Amazon Reviews

  • You may think parts are missing, but it also may just be the instructions language translation.
I ordered this exercise bike, after quite a bit of consideration reading over 10 review sites of top 5, 10, 20 exercise bikes in general and under $1000 and $500. I was able to nab this bike for $260 on a lighting deal which I was already going to buy for just a $30 coupon off off of the already reduced price of $334 from the suggested list or original price of $439. I had a $99 Friction bike before which was very low level and not practical to cycle and have a challenge everyday. So this was certainly a step up. As mention I spent a lot of time looking at all the bikes on the reviewed sites as well as most highly rated bikes on Amazon. After reading, I found that having a magnetic resistance as opposed to friction is almost ALWAYS better and all the nice Pelaton and competitor bikes usually have that type of resistance mechanism. So I knew that's what I wanted. There were other bikes even more expensive but not great with ratings or sales history that had friction and so you have to be careful with those. I ultimately came down to about 5 bikes or so I was considering. I'm 310lbs and already down 70lbs in a year and I hope to be 180lbs again one day and 225lb in the next year. I have lost 100lbs before so I know I can do it lol but enough about me. That being said there were many bikes with 265lb and under weight limit I didn't consider but did like or want. In general the advice for anybody with any weight is to get a bike that is over 10-20lbs of what you actually way to assure it's sturdy enough. So even though I'm on the edge of probably a 300lb rated bike I didn't want to tempt it. However in general the two bikes I came down to were this one and the Yosuda brand (several different models just like this one. The others I also considered were Pooboo and a few others that were on each list more than once. I carefully considered warranty as more than a few don't even offer it or they are very limited. Many just offer 30 day or 12 months parts so I went ahead and got the two-year Asurion warranty. I plan on using this 2x a day 30min or more each session so I will likely need it. As for this bike, I put it together in about 1 hour minutes but I was watching a podcast and I took a 5 min break for my back and got water and Gatorade and so all in all it really only took 30-40 minutes. It was actually very simple to put together. Most of the work I'd say 65% was done before and they did a great job of limiting parts screws and washers. They do provide cheap hex wrenches that did get the job done HOWEVER I almost called Amazon Customer Service because two items in my directions the #78 and #79 Hex Wrenches were missing from the box and it said they were needed in the instructions. The hex wrenches that were provided with different part numbers were there and they being two-sided did work for installation so don't freak out if that's the same case with your box. I believe it was a language translation error as this is probably a Chinese product. Most of the directions made sense but they were not in-depth or the best. I figured out very quickly that the wrench worked despite the directions saying I needed the ones that were missing. The only other issue I had was with one of the pedals. They loosely fit the bolt/washer together so you don't lose them which is nice, however, one pedal had one that was too tight and since I'm in a condo now and do not have tools on hand this was a problem as it was screwed on too tight and the way the pedal works spinning it made trying to remove it very difficult. I considered taking it to Lowes to have them take it off real quick. However, I used a bit of ingenuity and used the other hex wrench to stabilize one bolt while I turned the other. I like how they kept everything together with the screws and bolts but maybe this could have been separated because of this issue. The bike looks higher-end than it may appear upon completion. To me that's ok. I just wanted a magnetic resistance-based bike with a decent flywheel over 25 lbs. This one was 30-40lbs I believe. Some are even 48 lbs. In general the bigger the flywheel the better for a natural feel and ride and resistance. It is VERY quiet. The handlebars do wobble a very small amount regardless of how tight the bolts are. The seat is also not comfortable enough for someone over 280 lbs. Maybe even a 200lb-225lb person will find it uncomfortable. It's not uncomfortable that I can't bear it for 30 minutes to 1 hour but I will want a better seat. The bike seems quality enough for $250-350. There were a few other bikes almost in my price range of $440 to $600 but the aspects were similar and what made them more costly was the Bluetooth and app features. I considered this but I know I will not be needing to pay for a membership after the free trial and a screen that some of them provide that is basically a tablet without Netflix and more geared to fitness. The cost didn't seem worth it as the quality from reviews and aspects wasn't there for me. However the one upper end bike I considered a step above this one and competitors in look, quality and feel closer to Pelaton was the Eschlon exercise bikes specifically the Eschlon EX3 and EX5. These bikes are listed at over $600 and just a bit under $1000 at higher price ranges at 900 but if you wait just right for a lighting deal or check back for heavy discounts you will often find that the algorithms of your searches will help you nab those bikes at a much more affordable price. In my case, I almost pulled the trigger on a $440-490 bike all said in done with discounts and a already discounted price from the list price of $900. All in all, I believe this bike will be great for me right now and for the next few years with the wear and tear. And if it's not then I have the warranty for a replacement. Lastly, the reason I went against a friction-based bike is the maintenance aspect. The magnetic resistance bikes require much less maintenance. Well, that was a lot but hope it helps! ... show more

  • It's a great bike and good for tall riders...
I don't write reviews often but felt like this warranted a review. Came very well packed - I was nervous because of the weight of these but it was well packed and protected. Bike is easy to assemble, very sturdy, extremely quite, almost silent. Might be too heavy for some people to move on their own. I chose this bike because of the heavy flywheel and the drop bars so it would somewhat resemble my road bike. I did not install the tablet tray as I have a TV in front of me for workouts and the tray is a bit in the way of certain hand positions but that's a very minor issue. The computer is definitely on the cheap end, but I am not using it as I plan to ride based on feel and using online workouts so I have no need to track miles and speed. I also installed my own pedals and seat - this is OPTIONAL and I only did so to get it as close to my road bike as possible. The pedals are fine and the seat is (in my opinion) too big. FOR BEGINNERS - YOU DON'T NEED A HUGE CUSHY SEAT ON THIS OR A REAL BIKE. YOU NEED TIME ON THE BIKE TO GET USED TO IT AND THE SORENESS WILL GO AWAY. You can use any standard bike seat on this or just use what it came with. TALL RIDERS: I am 6'4" and ride an XL Giant road bike that is 58.5cm. You can absolutely get this bike setup very close to your road bike even if you are tall. Your only issues might be that you can't rotate the handle bars towards or away from you, but they do move up and down. You also are limited to the crank arm length and position so you might not get your perfect pedal position. The crank is about 1" higher off the ground than my road bike so I adjusted the handlebars and seat accordingly. I am in the highest position for handlebars and seat, but at 6'4", I have no complaints at the size of this bike for 99.9% of riders. For many other people, even if you're 6'5" or a bit taller you'd be fine without such an aggressive road bike style setup for this. I did add some duct tape on the handlebar and seat tubes that insert into the frame to add a bit of stability since they're up so high, but aside from a very little amount of play, they would still be solid and tight even without my added layer of tape. The water bottle cage it comes with is super cheap but probably works. I had an extra that's a bit more sturdy so I added that instead. Only real 'complaint' is the drop and reach of the drop bar sections. They're pretty far out so it's quite an extension compared to my 'standard' drop bars. Most people might not really use the drop bar portion and it's nice to have, just a bit of a reach for me at least. Overall, I rode this for a while this morning and I think it's great. Feels really high quality - the only 'cheap' parts I could see were the computer and bottle cage. I don't like the pedals but they'll work for most people and I think the seat would be a good upgrade for most people, but the stock seat is usable. ... show more
