  • Beyond happy I tried this before a Dyson.
For what I use this for, it works perfectly. Better than expected, and I feel like it keeps getting better. I’m so happy I purchased this on a prime sale before getting a $500 Dyson. This little vacuum is very important to me. It has great suction, it picks everything up, and if not on the first run, the second run is sure to. I use this on EVERY floor you can imagine. We have tile, carpet, wood, epoxied concrete, thick rugs, thin rugs, you name it we have it. The attachments make it so easy to vacuum the windowsills blinds ceiling and anything over my head. It’s so easily assembled and easy to disassemble to clean fully or just empty the canister. It’s incredibly light and quiet and has numerous settings. It holds charge for at least 20 minutes on low-high and remains suction throughout. I keep it on the charger, it shuts off once charged. I’m just so happy with this vacuum, it had everything I was looking for in value and power and versatility. I knew Eureka wouldn’t let me down, while growing up my mom raved about this vacuum brand in the 90s, and how her mom loved Eureka. Being an adult, I’m so thankful I have their knowledge of certain things. ... show more

  • We're So Happy We Bought This Vacuum
I've got a regular vacuum and a hand-held, but nothing that went under beds and other furniture very easily. Then I found this gem! It's light weight. It holds it's charge for quite a while (I've not had it run out yet, though I do keep it plugged in when not in use). It is so easy to use under beds and other furniture, and it goes into small areas the regular vacuum can't squeeze into. I love that the swivel head attachment is powered and has a beater bar, lights and wheels. Before buying this vacuum, I had purchased three or four attachment packages, hoping to find something that would work for under furniture and beds. They didn't fit or were difficult to use. The day I started using this vacuum, I tossed all those after-market attachments into the recycle bin. I also use this vacuum for the areas that catch more dust than other areas. The large vacuum can be used in these areas, but I don't have to get it out just for that. I use this vacuum to pick up the occasional dirt on tile floors before steam mopping them. I can use one of the nonpowered attachments to dust our baseboards. ... show more

  • Decent cordless vac Decent cordless vac
First cordless I've owned and so far, this is a decent vac. Suction seems good on hardwood and tile. I have a couple of low pile rugs and it's doing a good job on those, too. Don't think it would be good for a higher pile though. Dirt cup is very small. Fills up quickly and the dog hair and dirt get stuck around the motor and filter area. Other vacs do this too but this particular one doesn't leave much room around the motor to get your hand in to clear it out. My hands are fairly small, too. Wish it held more and was wider around the motor. Much lighter than the traditional vac. Gets under and around things easily. I really like that the power button is actually a button outside of the handle, and not a trigger that only works if you pull on it. Once it's on it stays on until you poke the button again. Big advantage to me. A friend has a high-end Dyson cordless which I don't like as much as I like this Eureka. I'm interested to see how the suction and battery hold up over time. No info yet on how long it stays charged. It's going to get a lot of use. ... show more

  • I Love this Little Sucker!
I broke my back in a car accident a number of years ago. I get along fine and not much stops me. I'm also up there in years....waaaay up there. So, I can't lift heavy items. Vacuum cleaners are heavy. Having to lug mine out and then drag it all over was torture. Obviously I avoided using it. I also avoided looking at my carpets. The TV ads showed all these miracle, light-weight ones that made all the actors in the commercials jump for joy. The prices did not. On Black Friday I saw this featured, and the price made me jump for joy. Plus Eureka is a well-known product. I figured what the heck. Go for it. Maybe I'll be in for a pleasant surprise ... yeah, right. Well I was. Erkie (that's what I call him) arrived. I unpacked and charged him up. I was really surprised at how light the little guy is. Yeah, but was he up the the challenge? I also have two dogs, who's favorite hobby is shedding fur all over the house. I turned Erkie on and told him this was it. Do or die. Well, he did a do and not a die. We did the floors, the carpets, using the cute little tools and the hand-held, I did the couch, the oven (dog hair gets everywhere), under the refrigerator, you name it. It's easy to empty, which I had to do a number of times. Erkie and I had a blast together. However, I outlasted him. He gave me this look that indicated he was getting tired and needed a nap. Poor little guy. He earned his rest. So, I tucked him in and patted his widdle head, as he went to sleep for a while. I love Erkie. He's awesome, easy to use, does his job well (good boy), and doesn't send me to the chiropractor the next day. If you're looking for something that will suck your carpets off the floor, then an Erkie isn't for you. But for those who have needs like mine, he's perfect. ... show more

  • Good for bare floors
I have 4 dogs and 4 cats, and I have to clean very often to keep things in check. My main living area has a large rug, but the rest of my house is bare/hard flooring. I bought this because my old hand vac is no longer keeping a charge, and I wanted something convertible and cordless. Convertible so I could use it on my hard floors as well as a hand vac, and cordless so I wasn’t having to move the plug around as I clean. Got this out yesterday, assembled in a couple minutes and then left it on the charger overnight. Today I used it to vacuum most of the solid floors, it did a great job. It can go all the way under furniture and tight spaces, which is nice. The light is a nice bonus but it’s not very strong. I did run it over my rug and I was not impressed, I’m not sure it picked anything up off the rug, so I’ll use my full-size corded vacuum for that. As long as we don’t have any hiccups after it’s been used several times, I’ll be happy! Update: I have had this just under 2 years, and I haven’t been able to use it in quite some time due to the fact it’s lost all suction. I’ll clean the filter again, but I don’t have my hopes up. ... show more

  • Ordering another one...
Now at 80 yrs...decided to avoid tripping on cords, or lifting heavy vacs...always trusted Eureka name, so I bought this in Jan 2023. Loved it! Easy to use, great suction, lasts long enough to do my jobs...I have low carpet in all rooms but bathroom and kitchen. Vinyl in those. I have a dog who sheds white hair all over, plus we both drag in yard dirt and debris. Have heavy duty Black Rib 4x6 mats at kitchen porch entrance, plus one by kitchen stove & at kitchen sink. They accumulate dog hair and normal dust, etc. This takes just a few licks and they are back to looking great. I sell antique linens, and after washing and ironing, theres always some lint on the floor. I love the machine, stores in a small corner, always at the ready. Easy to recharge. Unfortunately, battery conked out after 1 1/2 yrs. Looked over others, decided to stick with my same one and just re-order. Bev ... show more

  • It is a good portable vacuum cleaner, but the longevity is questionable.
I had used this handheld vacuum cleaner for ~one and half month now. Everything seemed fine and strong, until floor unit stopped working all of a sudden. It could be that I got a bad unit on a luck, but it is still hard to believe that it only took less than two months, before a part of the vacuum stopped working. Update: the customer service is very good. ... show more

  • The Eureka: A Machine That Sucks, as Advertised
VACUUM, n. A portable engine of domestic servitude, designed to extract from carpets and floors the accumulated evidence of human habitation, thereby perpetuating the curious delusion that cleanliness approaches godliness—a theological position unsupported by any credible scripture. Having observed the testimonials of my fellow sufferers in the grand theater of consumer folly, I find myself compelled to add my voice to this chorus of domestic desperation. The Eureka—a name pregnant with irony, suggesting sudden discovery where none exists—has served me adequately in my modest chambers, though it has revealed certain truths about the human condition that manufacturers dare not advertise. The device weighs less than the accumulated disappointments of middle age, which renders it suitable for those of us whose backs have been bent by life’s cruel pedagogy. Unlike the Dyson—that overpriced monument to British engineering hubris—this humble apparatus performs its menial duties without demanding the sacrifice of one’s firstborn or mortgage. The battery endures approximately as long as human patience during political discourse, which is to say, adequately for most purposes but insufficiently for perfectionists. The suction, while not possessing the violent enthusiasm of a typhoon, proves competent against the usual detritus of civilized existence: crumbs, pet hair, and the microscopic remnants of our inevitable decay. I must note, however, that this machine shares with humanity a fundamental flaw: it falls over when not properly supported, much like our moral convictions. The plastic components possess the durability of campaign promises, which renders replacement parts as elusive as honest politicians. The LED illumination serves mainly to reveal the shocking extent of filth we ordinarily ignore—a metaphor, perhaps, for the harsh light of truth in an age of comfortable delusions. In conclusion, while this device will not elevate the user to heights of domestic perfection, it will adequately serve those who understand that all earthly endeavors are temporary and most are futile. For the price of a modest dinner for two at establishments where the waiters possess unwarranted opinions about wine, one acquires a mechanical servant that neither complains nor demands raises. Purchase recommended for those who have abandoned hope of perfection but still maintain sufficient pride to remove visible evidence of their mortality from the floor. ... show more
