  • Just buy a Eufy Robovac...UPDATED
Style: 30C
** Update 5/1/21 ** I wrote the below review over a year ago and downgraded it in January due to failures of the brush fan motors, and the complete inability to buy new ones. Anker has since put replacement parts for sale online here: https://us.eufylife.com/collections/accessory, and you can now replace all the key modules that might fail over time (short of an accident, this will likely just be the motor assemblies). The motors use plastic gears, and the gears will inevitably fail after a year or so of daily use, which is kind of frustrating given the high quality of everything else about this machine. However, I can forgive that now that replacement parts are readily available and easy to swap out. The drive wheels (with motors) are easy to swap. The other motors and gears are easy--but require complete complicated disassembly that may be tricky for most consumers. ANKER--you have disrupted the robot vacuum market from iRobot's monopolistic overpricing with smaller, cheaper, and beloved little Eufy machines, I have restored my 5 star rating now that replacement parts are offered, and because of the fantastic customer service offering replacement parts if appropriate. But--please, please redesign the gearboxes so they do not fail prematurely, this is the only blemish on an otherwise fantastic product! ** Original Review ** I LOVE my Eufy Robovacs. I have 3 of them, purchased maybe 9 months ago. Two of them are this 30 model, basically identical to my other 35C model but without Wifi. I never use the Wifi, but the important kicker is if you don't get one of those models you can only run these manually (which is what we do upstairs so we can control the timing), or by setting up a scheduled time to run every day. So, these guys run EVERY day in my basement and first floor, and the house is impeccably clean now. It's really addictive to live in a clean house, but be warned that this is addictive--I can never go back to manually vacuuming when I think "it's time to clean", which turns out to mean the floor was dirty most of the time. These things really really work well, trust me the negative reviews you may see are just the competition spamming Eufy for having a better product, bad luck, or a hater. Here is what I've learned: - It's finally time to buy a robot vacuum cleaner. The price is finally low enough (be sure to use their coupons!), and they work. - Eufy improved on what iRobot pioneered. Never mind all the technical bells and whistles of the Roomba product line, they are all too big to work as well as the Eufy. These things go under most furniture and clean everywhere, no more dust bunnies under the bedroom furniture and china hutch. - Eufy is in 2nd generation and the sensors are not as advanced (e.g., no mapping yet). Don't worry about it, their software is so smart that uses pre-wired cleaning patterns in combination with the simple sensors and with randomness and 100+ minutes per day of run time it gets >95% of the floor perfectly clean each day. Yes, I look forward to the smarter generations coming, but these work really well, and the short size, suction, run time, and price are far more important than a competitor's claims about sensors. - You can buy replacement parts pretty cheap on Amazon (3rd party ones seem to work fine). - Life with Eufy means the house is always clean, all you need to do is dump out the dust bin about weekly (easy to check if it's full), and keep the roller brush free of hair and carpet fibers by cleaning that--for me that's every 2-3 weeks. Perhaps monthly seems fine to clean the actual filter. Everything is super easy and well designed. - You do need to "Eufy proof" your house so it can clean, it will get stuck on the end of a cord, string, etc. - It goes up and down over things surprisingly well, and almost never (like 5 times out of 270 days) gets stuck on the long strings on the end of my huge oriental carpet. - It will occasionally get stuck in some crazy situation--it beeps for help, and goes to sleep if you don't save it. There is a particular rocking chair whose base is a Eufy trap (like 1 time in 10). - Eufy customer support is really fast and great. I had a drive wheel go bad on one of them, and they identified the problem and sent me a new wheel under the 1 year warranty. Replacement took 5 minutes with a screwdriver, now it works fine again. It appears that you can buy all the parts cost effectively if this happens out of warranty. I hope this helps someone, these are great products and I'm happy to be in the new age of clean living! ... show more

  • I will never buy another vacuum ever!
Style: X8 Pro SES
This little powerhouse does a better job than any of the mainstream vacuums I have ever had, bar none. And the best thing about it is that I do not have to use my time or energy to vacuum. I got it because I have physical issues that have been making vacuuming become a mostly painful experience. I have a fully carpeted home with areas of tiled flooring, and several area rugs, and it handles them all with no problem. I also am allergic to dust, so never even having to breathe or empty a canister or bag is a plus. It is durable, picks up the dog hair, gets in the corners and along the baseboards, and I haven’t had to empty the large capacity waste box yet, using it 2 days a week. I went to Consumer Reports for a recommendation, and I got a winner. Reasonably priced for the amazing value. I highly recommend this Eufy Robotic vacuum. ... show more

  • Not good with heavy dog shedding
Style: 30C
Let me start out by saying that I am a huge Eufy fan. We have purchased five RoboVacs over the last five years, six if you count the one I gave my sister-in-law. We live on rural acreage with six people and two hairy as heck indoor/outdoor dogs in the house. The Eufys, I’m sure, are not designed for the kind of mess that gets tracked indoors here, but they handle it like champions! I’m so satisfied with Eufy, I don’t even look at other brands when I need another one. All are still up & running just fine, with our first battery replacement in our very first RoboVac 11 having happened this month. That said, I do have an issue with the most recent Eufy we purchased this month - the RoboVac 30. In the accompanying photos, you will see our 11 S on the left and the 30 on the right. Although the 30 seems to be a great model overall, it doesn’t handle heavy dog hair well. The opening into the 30’s debris tray is smaller than the other RoboVac models we have. You can see in the photos, the hair deposited in the debris tray was severely limited by the small opening. The hair clogged into the shape of the opening and the tray was only partially filled at the end of the battery charge. Further details: We run these two RoboVacs almost daily in the main living area (entry / living room / kitchen / dining areas all connected). The flooring terrain is wood and vinyl only (no carpets). Both RoboVacs pictured were running simultaneously throughout these areas. The hair is out of control right now because our one large dog (Anatolian, a livestock guardian) is blowing her winter coat (#justkillmenow). Normal amounts of dog hair might not be an issue for the 30? However, our 11 and 11 S models handle the normal AND ridiculous amounts of hair just fine. Unlike the 11 and 11 S, the 30 is choking under the added pressure of the extra hair. The debris you see in the photos was ALL collected in one run (both RoboVacs are fairly new and still have full battery cycles). Prior to the vacuum run pictured, both RoboVacs were set down to run with completely clean, empty trays, completely clean roller brushes, and clean filters. You can see why two machines are needed almost daily. Every time the RoboVacs finish a run, I clean the roller & spinning brushes and wash the tray and filters with soap and water. Every second or third time I also wash the roller & spinning brushes with soap & water. Additionally, we have one RoboVac 30G model. I used to run the 11 S and the 30 G models simultaneously in the main living areas. The 30 G is less effective (maybe 15-20 %?) at collecting hair, sand, etc... than the 11 S, in my experience. I bought the 30 to replace the 30 G. Unfortunately, the 30 was wayyyyyyy worse than the 30 G. If I had to do it over again, I would buy only the 11 S model. If I could return the 30 and 30 G models for 11 S models, I’d do it in a heartbeat. As it is, I’ll go back to running the 11 S and 30 G models together - - at least while the one dog is blowing her coat. When she’s no longer shedding, I’ll probably give the 30 another shot in the main living area. My hunch is that - absent the clogging amounts of hair on the floor - the 30 is superior to the 30 G. Based on my experience with the 30 G, I’m going to avoid models that only have one spinning brush and set vacuuming patterns. I can’t imagine many people put their RoboVacs to the workload that we do out here in the country. I would also imagine any of these models would be terrific for a normal household. Even though I’ve been complaining, I rave about all the RoboVacs we have. I love them and would be losing my mind without them. They are - all of them - fabulous little machines for the price. But... if you live with an insane amount of animal hair, the 11 S is a better choice. ... show more
