  • Super Happy So Far - Such an Improvement Over Older Robo Vac!!!
Size: 01-L60 SES
So Far - Excellent. We've had robovacs since around 2011 and this is our first Eufy. I love how quiet it is and how it automatically adjusts the suction power to the surface. It mapped the rooms so nicely and I was able to set where it should NOT go. We have a lot of floor space, including laminate floors, berber carpet, area rugs and vinyl floors. It really performs well and gets right up to the edges, around chair legs and no crumbs missed anywhere. We have 6 in the household from 5 to 83 years old so there can be a lot of crumbs, bits, pet hair and scraps. We had no interest in a mopping function unit so this is exactly what I wanted. I have bare floors scheduled for every day and carpets every other day. The voice is loud enough to hear from other rooms when it's changing functions and I can control it with Alexa, which connected super easily. The app on my phone has every function I want and is easy to navigate. The self empty function isn't so crazy loud as some people say, maybe between the level of a normal vacuum and a shop vac? It did clog up in the empty port the very first go round due to excess pet hair - like a LOT of hair (we have a collie and a great pyraneese) because I wanted to see how it would collect all that - it hasn't had any issue afterwards because it's on a regular schedule and cleaning beautifully. It does a fine job navigating around any sort of items sitting out on the floor and hasn't eaten any socks yet, but we try to leave a clean path for it anyway. BTW - the prior model robo vacs we had were Neato and they were excellent at corners due to the flat front shape. This one is not too bad for a round shaped vac. All in all - I'm very happy and hoping it will last a good while. I may have to get a second unit for our family room (different level - dog hair there too!) ... show more

  • Eufy: Never Again
Size: 01-L60 SES
It is jaw-droppingly astonishing how AWFUL this thing is. I can deal with all the little problems: I have to pick up cords and small objects. It gets caught on random things and shuts down. It needs some creepy data-harvesting app that does nothing you couldn't do with a TV remote. I can live with all of this. Well, I'd like a robovac that doesn't need an app, because WHY do you need an app? It's pointless. But that's the way this world is, so I guess I have to deal with it. But what I can't handle is how BASIC FUNCTIONALITY does not work. It CANNOT KEEP A SCHEDULE! I have a very simple schedule: run every day at 10am. This device is completely and totally incapable of handling such a basic and simple task. Just run once a day, every day. I can worry about everything else. HOW DO YOU MESS UP A CLOCK? It forgets its ONE JOB every single week. I have to go back into the stupid app, re-set the schedule, probably re-set the map because it invented some new horrible map from the bizarro world because it randomly decided my house was actually NOT my house and it needed to re-establish what's up and what's down, and it got all of that wrong, so we have to go through the mapping process again. And that's if I'm lucky. Sometimes it decides to forget the wifi password (WHY DOES IT NEED WIFI????????) so I have to reconnect that too! And THIS IS EVERY WEEK! THIS IS BASIC FUNCTIONALITY! JUST! RUN! THE! PROGRAM! OH! MY! GOD! You had it right the first time! JUST DO THAT!!!!!!!! Alarm clocks have been doing this for 100 years now. Even before electricity, people could set alarms using candles or sand. How does an ELECTRONIC DEVICE with INTERNET ACCESS fail to know it's 10am and time to run? WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING? Normally I think people who type in all caps are crazy. But I am SO SO MAD I CANNOT TYPE NORMALLY. IT'S A CLOCK. LITERALLY JUST LOOK AT THE CLOCK. IT'S NOT DIFFICULT. LOOK. AT. THE. CLOCK. STOP. FORGETTING. MY. SCHEDULE. I don't know why I have bought 4 eufy robovacs. The first one was alright. It was one of their "dumb" vacuums that just bumps into walls. It eventually broke and they stopped selling the parts to fix it, so I bought a "new" (identical but more expensive) model which also eventually broke and they REFUSED to sell me the parts to fix it when it broke. So I bought one of these "smart" ones and it did this thing I'm describing here: forgot, EVERY WEEK, that it is just supposed to run once a day. IT'S NOT HARD. JUST RUN THE PROGRAM! So I wrote a 1 star review and they offered me a refund if I shipped it back in the original packaging. I threw that away so obviously that was not an option. So me in all of my abundant intelligence bought another, thinking it would be better. NOPE. THIS ONE DOES THE SAME THING! That's TWO entirely separate models, which are wholly incapable of ACTUALLY DOING THEIR ONE JOB IN THE WORLD. I should mention that the "dumb" models also had a nasty habit of running randomly at 3am and waking me up in a panic. I guess that should have been my first tip-off that this "tech" company cannot understand the single most basic technology of all of human history: time-keeping. So with 4 eufys under my belt I am extremely, EXTREMELY confident in my decision. Eufy: never again. I will not make this mistake again. I will scream it from the rooftops if I have to. I will tell all my friends. I will write it in the reviews. Never EVER buy eufy. Their vacuums cannot even do their ONE JOB. HOW HARD IS IT???? ... show more

  • Good product, very good value
Size: 01-L60 SES
I've had this robot working for 10 days. I really like it. I have hardwood floors throughout, with some area rugs of various thicknesses. One of the rugs is about 3/4" thick, and it climbs up onto it with no trouble. It sometimes flips up the corner of a small, thin throw, but that hasn't been much of a problem. It's unobtrusive and pretty quiet while doing the vacuuming. When it goes home and empties the robot's bin, it's as loud as a regular vacuum cleaner, but that lasts less than a minute. The app is pretty intuitive and relatively easy to navigate. I had a bit of trouble getting it to pair with my wifi network. The first night, it failed all four times I tried. Each time, it said it was establishing a connection, circled the drain for a 10 minutes or so, with a progress bar that reached 60 on the best attempt, then quit. The first time, on a saturday I was only five feet away from the router, on the other side of a wall. Other times, I was right next to it. Tech help available only weekdays, so I waited until monday, but decided to give it one more try just before calling. Lo and behold! it established a connection within a minute - go figure Once the connection was established, I told it to map the area. It takes an interesting approach. No logic I can figure out, it just seems to randomly run around, but creates a map you can track in the app. Then you can set up no-go zones and edit the map if necessary. Once while I was gone, the robot went into a small bathroom and somehow must have bumped the partially open door closed after it went in, so it was trapped. When I returned and finally found it, it was off, but had not run down its battery. I just pushed the on button and it went its merry way and finished the job. I have prevented recurrences by installing magnetic door stops on all the doors so the robot can't bump the closed. One other time, it jammed itself in a tight spot behind a coffee table. The spot was just the right size to trap the robot. I prevented recurrences by moving the table slightly. I am running it every other day and don't have to even think about it. ... show more
