I saw this LS500 in Best Buy magnolia and impressed with the performance. I bought it during prime day sale and I am overwhelmingly enjoying this Projector. Now that I have owned this projector for a little over two weeks its time for a review. The high marks this product has received are well deserved. Spending this amount of money on a TV is not my normal. I felt as though it was a real crap shoot. I have no regrets at all. This is an incredible piece of equipment that delivers an extremely high quality display. From broadcast TV to movies or sporting events I feel totally immersed and have enjoyed every minute I have spent with it.     • For $4000, I expected a sharp image.

It's impossible to get the focus sharp on all parts of an image. For watching movies, this is fine. However, as a projector advertised at gamers, this is unacceptable. Many games have HUD elements on the corners of the screen, and it's impossible for me to get them all into focus at once. I've got my projector set up properly, with no keystone used whatsoever, on a 120 inch screen. I have tried re-aligning the LCD panels, and playing with the focus for hours. Based on forum posts I've read online, this is apparently "normal" behavior from this projector. Very disappointed, the input lag is excellent and when I focus the image to one part, it looks amazingly sharp. I just wish I could get this sharpness across the entire image. EDIT: Amazon sent me a replacement unit and after fixing panel alignment issues, I am very satisfied with the overall sharpness of the image. I am updating to 4 stars instead of 3. It would be 5 stars if Epson included any form of documentation describing to the customer what the actual image should look like when focused. There should be a sample image on the projector that can be loaded up with a high resolution photo taken of said image on a well calibrated control projector. ... show more

This is the second one i purchase from Amazon, previous one was returned, the streaming device that comes with the projector sucks. The sound can become very soft after a few days! The only fix is to reset everything. I am debating whether or not to return this one too. It is ridiculous!

We purchased this projector for use in our growing church. We love its many features, including that it is ultra short throw. The Ultra-short-throw feature allows one to position the projector just inches in front of the screen and get a full-sized image (in our case, a 120" screen). The only "negative" is that it cannot be mounted on the ceiling. Hence, we returned it and acquired the LS800 instead - because it can be mounted on the ceiling. ... show more

Upgraded home theater with this then realized it has no spdif out It has some hdmi arc which my old amp doesn’t support Well I upgraded to new denon amp that has it While I got it connected- the audio levels out of the epson are so low that you can’t go very loud even fully cranked on amp On the fence about keeping it. Samsung has a competing projector that’s pretty good that has it all ... show more

Super bright and excellent picture. I use it with a 120" screen and I think the brightness and resolution would allow for a much larger screen. You won't be disappointed with this projector.
