Perfect for sourdough. My daughter uses this one often and loves it. I got it for her as a gift. I use a regular dutch oven but am always burning my fingers when I drop the bread in. This one works great and is very easy to load. It seems to make a better crust too when you remove the lid for the last 15 minutes or so of baking since more of the bread is directly exposed to the oven. It also has ridges on the bottom that holds the bread up a tiny bit so the bottom of the loaf does not ever burn. Very well made, will last for years I'm sure. Now I need one for me.

This is the best specialty bread making ditch oven anyone could ever ask for. The difference is that this makes it super easy to remove the bread from the Dutch oven due to the design. The design also creates excellent circulation which makes for perfect bread.

The enamel coating is a very nice cream color. The 6QT Dutch oven came with a chip in the enamel coating. I’m not sure it’s chip resistant There are two places on the lid which concerns me. I have not used yet so unable to report ease of use and durability.
