I am not a coffee or tea snob, but I wanted something to easily bring water up to boiling for tea and just below boiling for the occasional French press coffee. Best thing I can say is: it works as I have expected. It heats up quickly. It holds temperatures properly, near as I can tell. There is a bit of a plastic smell for the first few uses. No leaks, looks good. I was all over the place on Amazon, YouTube, Reddit, looking for “the best gooseneck kettle”. I found them! They’re crazy expensive.     • Works well but base is frustrating

This kettle does what it says. You can choose the temperature you want it heated to and it holds the water at that temperature, which is great for making pour over coffee. What is frustrating is that the charging “post” on the base consists of concentric circles instead of being a solid round “post” that the kettle sits on. You have to move the kettle around on the base to get it to fit onto the “post” and then when it does, it is very wobbly/tippy. The other thing that is annoying is that it beeps every time you take the kettle off the base. I like that it beeps when the water gets to the correct temperature and when you turn it off, so that you know that it is off, but beeping every time you take it off the base is excessive and annoying when you are making pour over coffee early in the morning! Otherwise, the kettle does heat and keep the water hot to the set temperature, which is the main thing. ... show more

Kettle performs great. It heats up quickly, yet the outside remains fairly cool. The opening is wide enough to clean easily, and it has a large capacity. It has a shiny black coating on the outside, but it is stainless steel. No unpleasant smell. Te power cord is also longer than most other kettles I've owned.
