I recently purchased the Q1S model rowing machine after seeing a coupon code and some great reviews. I've been looking for a way to get a good full-body workout in without having to purchase a bunch of different weights and other equipment, but I hate going to the gym and would rather exercise at home. Rowing machines are the perfect answer! Great way to build overall strength and cardio with a single machine. For what I paid (well under $200), I'm blown away by this thing. The packaging and build quality were excellent. It took about 15 minutes to assemble. Hardest part is figuring out how to use the little electronic screen/dial... the manual sucks for that. There is an app that connects via Bluetooth and I recommend using that instead. The machine itself is sturdy and feels well-built. There are 15 different resistance levels. The machine does not fold but it's designed to stand up vertically to tuck out of the way, and it's very easy to do so. I can't recommend this enough and I look forwarding to using it each morning.

Have used this every day for 3 weeks so far. I bought this based on review comparisons and the fact that I did not want or need an expensive rower at this point. I wanted a lower impact home workout machine, and have enjoyed using rowers at the gym. So far this fits the bill. I set this machine up in less than 15 minutes, you may want to have a small wrench ready to make things easier though you could get away with all the tools provided and be fine. It’s not heavy but is still sturdy. I set it up on a floor mat and it is rock solid when I work out on it. It has a simple display and is pretty intuitive- if you get the free app from MERACH it will Bluetooth to the machine - I can’t comment on that as I have not used that function yet but I have verified that it connects. So far customer service (questions about the app) has been timely. Using the machine is easy, it’s very smooth and as others have pointed out- pretty quiet. It is quite the workout for me- and I haven’t taken it past level 10 yet. Does not fold up, but will stand up to take less space. If you are looking for a basic unit that works well, this is a nice choice.

The Merach Q1S looks like a great beginner rowing machine. Great reviews on Amazon, reasonably priced, uses less space when parked upright and made from metal. However, there are some fairly significant design flaws that are not so obvious when you look at the pictures: (a) The handle return is right above the foot pads, which prevents the full range of motion that you expect to get from rowing, (b) The leg pads swivel as you use them which makes it harder to reach the higher SPM, (c) the leg pads are not adjustable in height which make them somewhat uncomfortable. I wish these flaws were more obvious to me before I purchased it. Although I am in the return window, the box & packaging it came in makes it very hard to repack and return. Also it is not so obvious from the pictures, but these do not come with a tablet or screen - just a small screen dial to view some basic stats and adjust resistance. You have to put your own phone or tablet to use the guided row-along pre-programmed workouts from the Merach app (which is a quite good and well made app). I think this is fine as the apps generally provide a better UI and experience than the proprietary screen would have. Overall, it is still a decent and well built machine, but the flaws above make it less of a value than what I thought before purchasing it. If you are on a budget and understand these flaws, this is a good value. If you can afford do, I would consider moving up to the Merach R50 instead.

I’ve fallen in love with rowing. Ok! The first element of this rower that surprised me is how quiet it is. Truly, someone could be on the couch beside me watching tv and barely know I was rowing. It’s that quiet. I have the Electric Plug-In model btw. It’s quiet, and smooth when level transitioning. Seat glides well. The quality is excellent. My two things they could improve. The foot straps could be easier to tighten. I just leave as tight as I need them to row and then jam my foot in. Next is that, while the display is bright and functional, I realize now that it’s too low for me to read my stats well while rowing. The numbers are clear, but the little icons showing which stat it is are too small to catch on the few seconds before the screen shows the next stat. If that were placed higher, I’d be happy. To fix that issue on my own, I just need to memorize the order of stats as they show on the display. Working on it! Anyway, I’ve had this a month now and used it for about 20 days straight. I’ve even considered upgrading to another rower (something fancy and overpriced) But they are all loud where Merach is whisper-quiet, and they only accomplish one extra thing—they would sync the rower with the Hydrow app (that I prefer over the Merach app) so that my stats are automatically recorded. Is it that serious for me to see my stats on the big screen and have them record automatically? No. Is it worth spending $1900 on a Concept 2 or Hydrow? Definitely not. Also, I could use my Merach app and the stats would record and (this is cool) the machine’s resistance automatically changes with the workout! Verdict? I’m gonna keep my Merach and enjoy it. It tucks nicely against the wall in my living room, and if company comes then I can put it in the closet. It’s easy to assemble too. Let me think if I’m missing anything…it’s well-priced for the users who don’t have money to burn, and it’ll make you stronger in no time!

I would love to review this item if all is the parts had been included. Instead it's in pieces and in the way and completely unusable. Unless Merach responds quickly I will be flooding every media outlet I write for about the terrible products Merach puts in the market. Just because I've slowed my journalistic output does not mean I have lost a single contact across the US and internationally.

Bought it a while back and it has been great throughout my fitness journey. It stands up easily if it needs to go into a smaller space, its light and maneuverable, and makes for a great cardio workout. Putting it together was super easy, and it is very stable, even on carpet or foam flooring.
