I’ve fallen in love with rowing. Ok! The first element of this rower that surprised me is how quiet it is. Truly, someone could be on the couch beside me watching tv and barely know I was rowing. It’s that quiet. I have the Electric Plug-In model btw. It’s quiet, and smooth when level transitioning. Seat glides well. The quality is excellent. My two things they could improve. The foot straps could be easier to tighten. I just leave as tight as I need them to row and then jam my foot in. Next is that, while the display is bright and functional, I realize now that it’s too low for me to read my stats well while rowing. The numbers are clear, but the little icons showing which stat it is are too small to catch on the few seconds before the screen shows the next stat. If that were placed higher, I’d be happy. To fix that issue on my own, I just need to memorize the order of stats as they show on the display. Working on it! Anyway, I’ve had this a month now and used it for about 20 days straight. I’ve even considered upgrading to another rower (something fancy and overpriced) But they are all loud where Merach is whisper-quiet, and they only accomplish one extra thing—they would sync the rower with the Hydrow app (that I prefer over the Merach app) so that my stats are automatically recorded. Is it that serious for me to see my stats on the big screen and have them record automatically? No. Is it worth spending $1900 on a Concept 2 or Hydrow? Definitely not. Also, I could use my Merach app and the stats would record and (this is cool) the machine’s resistance automatically changes with the workout! Verdict? I’m gonna keep my Merach and enjoy it. It tucks nicely against the wall in my living room, and if company comes then I can put it in the closet. It’s easy to assemble too. Let me think if I’m missing anything…it’s well-priced for the users who don’t have money to burn, and it’ll make you stronger in no time!

Have used this every day for 3 weeks so far. I bought this based on review comparisons and the fact that I did not want or need an expensive rower at this point. I wanted a lower impact home workout machine, and have enjoyed using rowers at the gym. So far this fits the bill. I set this machine up in less than 15 minutes, you may want to have a small wrench ready to make things easier though you could get away with all the tools provided and be fine. It’s not heavy but is still sturdy. I set it up on a floor mat and it is rock solid when I work out on it. It has a simple display and is pretty intuitive- if you get the free app from MERACH it will Bluetooth to the machine - I can’t comment on that as I have not used that function yet but I have verified that it connects. So far customer service (questions about the app) has been timely. Using the machine is easy, it’s very smooth and as others have pointed out- pretty quiet. It is quite the workout for me- and I haven’t taken it past level 10 yet. Does not fold up, but will stand up to take less space. If you are looking for a basic unit that works well, this is a nice choice.

The only reason it has four stars is that I wish it had more resistance. It is easy to assemble and even easier to understand how to use! The display is clear and simple to understand. The seat slides so smoothly and feels great for a long workout. It is by far one of the most quiet rowers I have used. Practically silent. It is easy to move and store as well. I expected it to be heavier and so the weight makes it an easy move for almost everyone. The quality of this rower at this price range is top notch. If you are starting out looking for a good tower at a great price, this is it! Oh, and it looks super sleek.

This is an updated review. The machine arrived quickly, was not very hard to put together at all (about 40 mins), was the perfect size for my home office, was quiet and smooth, and in every way perfect. Unfortunately on the first use it displayed an error code on the dial which was unable to be cleared. Amazon customer service was absolutely of no help. Passed me back and forth 10 times with no resolution. I called the manufacturer & there was no answer but I left a message. I also filled out an online form. I received a call back from Kayla pretty quickly (while I was still getting passed around by Amazon). They asked me to confirm a few things, email a photo of the error code on the display, etc. I tried to use the machine despite the broken display and it started making a horrible noise. I took a short video and also emailed this to the manufacturer. They emailed back after hours and on the weekend with their apologies and replaced the rower free of charge! I had the replacement in a few days (even with the New Year holiday) and the new one works perfectly. I would have left a good review on the machine itself because it’s a great rower for what I need. Originally the experience with the defective one that arrived had me frustrated but the customer service was so excellent I cant praise them enough. Manufacturing defects can happen. (I had it happen on a very expensive machine from another company twice!). But how this company handled the problem, was stellar! Give it a shot you wont be disappointed!

I'm not rowing machine connoisseur, but I was looking for a something affordable, effective and quiet, and I got that. Would have been easier to assemble with 2, but I did it myself with some balancing. All in all, I see other products for 3, 5, 10+ times the price and just see a bunch of suckers.

WOW, fantastic packaging, small and easy to handle. Assembly was fast and simple due to easy instructions and VERY high quality bolts and an extremely well designed machine!! Fit and finish of entire machine was all awesome! Absolutely excellent product! Only design suggestion would be to move timer control to a more visible location, but a fantastic rowing machine.
