I bought this to grind up baled straw for periodic additional fill for some deep container grown potatoes, You know, to add soil to a very restricted space as the plants grow. Well, The long and short of it is, for the money, this thing works awesome !

Okay. I specifically bought this to slay the leaves that fall from the 100 year old magnolia behind the house. So far it has been awesome. Grinds the leaves up well. Don’t recommend dropping the flower cones in. Wears the string out unnecessarily. String isn’t hard to replace. Just cut out old for an easier pull. New string is easy to put in. Only complaint is that the metal poles that go between the wheel base and shredder were both drilled for the same side. As if they shipped to left legs. Didn’t really matter to me as I need to take apart to store after every use and shredder works just fine with only cotter pins and wheels permanently secured. I love it. So much fun to grind up those magnolia leaves.

Works great. Easy to assemble. I cleaned up a year of leaves in no time. 3 bags of leaves became 1 which I liked because the recycle people charge 7$ a bag to recycle

You would accomplish more much more quickly, by simply raking your leaves into a line and running your mower over it You almost have to do it with this machine by a handful at a time, and also need to sort out any larger branches that may be in the leaves.

I have never even considered one of these. I wanted to start mulching my yard waste instead of burning it,so I searched and found this to be a liked consumer product. I must say I LOVE IT!! Nice wide opening at the top for entry. Very fast cutting and heavy duty.Pine needles went through fine. I have over an acre with many trees and tons of grass and leaves to mulch. This went through all of it like it was nothing. Perfect!! (Get a bag too,its worth it) CON: if any its LOUD. Sounds like a "grinder",but no louder than your regular zero turn. I highly recommend this for people with lots of leaves. Give back to nature,its the natural cycle intended. Don't burn them.
