I had looked over all the info and didn’t see anything about the position until it arrived and the booklet states it must not be used in a vertical position. I had a veito which I purchased in 2015 and it went out just recently. This one is a fraction of the cost of the veito, and I suppose it works if you want it to be horizontal and with only two heat settings , low and high, and a rather short cord. This is a radiant heater usable indoors and outdoors. A shield protects the element from anything falling on it. There is an off, and two heat levels. Good for patios and spaces which need to be kept warm. A good heater to have for enjoy time outdoors to take the chill out of the air..
