It was probably a returned item. Lid hinge damaged. The previous owner probably was trying to figure out how to take lid off, based on the manual and damaged it. Can’t blame the person though, hard to figure out as well. Just relative bad design with low quality materials. Not worth the $60 price tag.

The media could not be loaded. Okay I'm not quite sure how to say this so I'm just gonna say it. This is an awesome fryer for a single person with a small space just like me. I ❤️❤️❤️ this fryer. I used it for the first time today. I was able to fry two pieces of filleted whiting fish at a time. After that I fried eight jumbo shrimp at a time. The unit worked perfectly. It recovered perfectly. It held temperature perfectly. . . Simple and easy to operate. I'm glad I purchased it. I almost second guessed it. One more thing to add, it's easy to clean, too!

This arrived earlier today,had to try it out. Having cooked in a restaurant for years I was looking for a fryer that I could use at home and that didn't take up a lot of counter space. Well this little gem fits the bill! It fries just like the big gas deep fryers in restaurants,only much easier to clean. The only down fall to this is the instructions because someone who may ave never used a fryer before could use a bit more information. This is definitely an Amazon winner! Can't wait to do chicken wings.

My first time using a deep fryer. I had an air fryer before and still want one however, this fryer is easy to use for someone like me. Pour the finished oil after letting it set for a day into a ziplock bag and freeze before disposing it.
