This is a well built and beautiful item. The new curved LED screen is awesome and it really does look like a fireplace. It provides either a gentle glow of coals at night (for a night light) or slightly more if you add the flames - which is what we do. When I wake up in the night, it's so comforting and hypnotic to watch the flames. The heater has two levels. It is quiet and heats our approximately 250 sf bedroom (smallish) in 10 minutes. it'll also heat the hall if we open the door. Once warmed up, the lower level keeps the room at a comfortable temperature indefinitely. It is fairly narrow and so doesn't take up much space. The glass on the front gives an even more realistic look. I read reviews of other models and noted that it's best to have a control panel in addition to the remote. It's so easy to figure out and use. Took Husband about 5-6 minutes to put the legs on (thanks guys for the advice about a Phillip's Head Screwdriver, I was ready to go). I can lift it myself if need be. As someone else suggesting, all you need is a fireplace app and it creates a meditative, warm and inviting space. Heats well, looks beautiful, seems very sturdy-made from heavy metal, fun colors for mood changes, crappy weak remote but is still totally worth having to change it from bed or the couch. I unintentionally bought the first one in "used-good" refurbished condition and it arrived badly dented and missing the remote. I returned it for a replacement that is almost perfect (only a slightly crooked hanging door - no bother) and we adore it! I'm SO glad Amazon made good because we love it and paid so much less getting it used, even though inadvertently. It all worked out well in the end! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I am VERY happy with this purchase. Study/solid and a bit heavy but easy to carry and move and it was simple to attach the legs with a Phillips head screwdriver Quality packing materials with no messy cleanup. Appearance is traditional with enough design detail to look good but not too ornate/tacky. Remote is user friendly and offers several good options for log and flame appearance and you can use it for ambiance with the heater on or off. I like that the heat output comes out of the front top vs bottom which seems safer and more effective. I placed it inside the fireplace of my historic home and it fit perfectly and looks great. Eco-friendly, economical and safer option than gas logs would have been. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. There's a lot to love about this electric fireplace. It's a light enough weight that you can easily move it around but has a quality look and feel instead of the usual cheap plastic. The legs are metal and easy to attach with the included screws--you just need your own Phillips head screwdriver. You can change the flame speed and color (the highest speed is the most realistic) and when desired it puts out a nice amount of heat from the top of the fireplace, where it's less apt to damage the LED flame electronics. I also really like the fact that the fireplace will briefly light up a red number at the back of the fireplace to show you the flame brightness, speed or color setting. It hits that sweet spot of being useful but unobtrusive. I also like the option of manual buttons, which allow more direct control of the log color separate from overall brightness, flame color and speed. Its greatest weakness is the remote. It's finicky. Really finicky. I often have to wave the remote around in an attempt to get the fireplace to sense my button presses, and it can take five or six attempts to get the fireplace to respond. The only other down side I've noted is easily remedied. The fireplace has no sound. Fortunately, there are apps that you can install on your cell phone that will seamlessly add that extra dimension to your fireplace. In the video I recorded showing some of the speed and color options, you'll note crackling sounds part way through the recording. THIS ISN'T FROM THE FIREPLACE. It's an example of what the fireplace is like when you add cell phone audio from the OnSwitch app in fireplace scene mode, which not only gives a realistic crackling sound but also controls Hue lighting. I find using that app for sound with my favorite color settings and the flames on the highest speed makes me feel as if I have a real fire without the heat (unless so desired) or mess. Some have asked about using this on a covered screen porch. I've done that, but only with a really heavy-duty, short, outdoor power cord when the humidity isn't crazy high. The manual says indoor only, and I suspect that high humidity could damage the electronics and shorten its life expectancy. Given how much I like the fireplace, I decided to move it back indoors. The instructions say to keep it 2 feet from a rear wall, but in the video, I have it in front of my existing fireplace with the doors open, where it has 2 feet of clearance from the back of the firebox. I can't yet speak to the fireplace's longevity, but I'm extremely happy with it so far and would probably buy it again if it lasts the year. ... show more

Looks fine. Like the picture but does not heat up a room that's around 300 sf. This claims to be able to heat 1000 sf. Probably nice for a very small room.
