I had hoped that it would return the water under somewhat greater pressure, in order to stir the tank better. It works fine, and by tipping the return angle I can get it to roil the surface of the water. My main concern with this type of filtration was aeration of the water. This does help, and installation was quick and easy. If it were designed with more, but smaller return holes there would be more of a jet action, and that would have gotten it 5 stars. At any rate, the aeration is miles better than the single tube return that came with the tank, so it works well and I would purchase it again. ... show more

    • Replacements for API spray fan
Just finished replacing the last spray bar from my API units with these models. The more traditional spray bar of Eheim provides better surface agitation than the fan spray used by API. I also have noticed less water splashing out of the tank when the water levels are low as I do not have a top on my 55 or 180. I used a metal screw-style neck to keep the connections secure. ... show more

I purchased this to go with my Eheim Ecco 2236. It fits perfectly and does exactly what I need it to do. I like that it came with 3 pieces of spray bar attachments, so you can make it longer or shorter depending on tank placement. I did notice it seems to lower my gph fairly significantly. But I am running dual filters and have my tiny tank over-filtered, so I am OK with trading some gph for nice, smooth, even water circulation. ... show more

It was difficult to convince myself to pay nearly $30 for what I knew was no more than a few pieces of plastic BUT now that I've set it up and seen the plastic quality and configuration options I was impressed and very happy I spent the money. Leaked as it didnt fit 5/8 tubing. Otherwise was made good and easy to put together even though it was in a different language.
