Powered by any EGO POWER+ 56V ARC Lithium™ battery, this cordless chainsaw delivers up to 220 cuts on a 4x4 when used with the included 4.0Ah ARC Lithium™ battery. The chainsaw features a tool-free chain tensioning system that allows fast, easy bar and chain adjustments through independent dials. These low-profile dials also allow the electric chainsaw to cut flush to the ground. Its 16-inch bar and chain with 20m/s chain speed delivers clean, efficient cuts while its automatic oiling system keeps the saw lubricated throughout the cutting process. I bought this because my wife cannot start our gas-powered saw, and finds the noise distracting and nerve wracking. She loves this new saw, has been using it a lot. It is somewhat lighter than our gas saw, and the simplicity of use and quiet, I think, make it a safer saw for her to use. It runs quite a while on a single charge. I find myself picking it up more and more. I have been a Stihl guy for a long time - used to do tree work - but this little gadget sure does work well. I was very surprised at how well - quickly - it cuts. Unless you propose to be bucking up redwoods, it is plenty of saw for nearly any purpose around the house. You could buck up a reasonable-size tree without any trouble. I have not had it long enough to comment on longevity, but it does seem well made. ... show more

Style: 18" Chain Saw Kit w/4.0Ah Battery
I can't begin to tell you how much easier this is to use than my 18" gas chainsaw and how much faster it makes the job. This has plenty of power and cuts through a big 14" tree quickly and easily! The real difference however, showed up when I was clearing a large tree with a lot of branches that had fallen across my driveway. I was cutting branches into smaller sizes to haul away, so there was a lot of putting down the saw, then picking it up to cut, then down again to haul the branch away. The time saved was amazing, because you picked up the saw, pulled the trigger, cut, set the saw down. With the gas one, you'd have to pick it up, start it, rev it, then cut, then turn it off and set it down. The gas saw runs (loudly) the whole time from starting to stopping and it's much heavier. The electric saw only runs for the short few seconds you make a cut. That may not sound like much, but I felt it significantly reduced the time it took me to do the job. Also - no gas/oil mixture to worry about - just bar oil. I like that I can use any of my Ego batteries in this saw. For quick jobs, I can use the light ones that came with my trimmer, but for heavier jobs I've got more and bigger batteries that came with other Ego tools. The only real question now is durability. Style: 16" Chain Saw Kit w/4.0Ah Battery
This is my first larger battery based tool. After 2 full day sessions I am impressed. My chain did jump a few times but the tool-free adjustments makes this quick and easy. I expect this will get better as I get more experience with it. As of now, the battery takes about an hour to recharge from 1 section. After reviewing EGo vs a couple of other systems, I decided to join their ecosystem. It is wonderful to be able to start and stop with a push of a button. I hope that with cleaning the unit after each use and good battery charging practices it will give me years of dependable use. Be sure to register your components on receipt so that your warranty will be activated and hopefully assist with any issues down the road. ... show more

This is my third EGO product and I am very impressed with the brand. I already had the blower (love it!) and the weed trimmer which is also awesome. Thought I would give the chainsaw a try and believe me, it’s worth the money. I have a very wooded property and have gone through three chainsaws over the years so I thought I would give this a try.     • Quiet and powerful electric chainsaw
I already had a corded 16" electric chain saw, but bought the EGO about a month ago to use in places that are too far to reach even with 100 feet of extension cord. I was pleased with the performance of the EGO. It had all the power I needed to cut back trees, some 5-6 inches in diameter, as well as honeysuckle brush along a densely lined fence line. The saw, even without the battery, was a little heavier than I was expecting, but is well balanced and was easy to hold and not tiring to use. Although I did not use the saw continuously, I was able to work an entire afternoon without running out of battery. I did take the precaution of putting the battery on the charger once while I was gathering and stacking downed wood and brush. The saw came with a charger unit and a 2Ah battery. Initial charge time was about 30 minutes. Based on the performance of the chainsaw I plan to buy several additional EGO yard tools and one more battery, probably a 2.5Ah. Pros are that the saw cut everything I needed it to. I didn't have to keep track of an extension cord like I do with my corded saw. Unlike saws with a gasoline engine, it starts without a hassle and runs comparatively quietly. Also no need to special mix fuel or breath the fumes. Push the button, hold the trigger and it runs. Cons are that compared to my corded saw, the EGO rather quickly used bar and chain oil. Also, a few times the chain came off the bar while I was cutting at a odd angle and a branch put side pressure on the bar. This happened after the saw had been running a while. It was quick and easy to put the chain back on the bar and tighten it up. I now check the chain tension more frequently while running the saw hard to keep it correctly tensioned because chains will loosen up as they get warm. All-in-all I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend the EGO 14" chainsaw. ... show more
