My kitchen flooring started to bubble from underneath so I knew I had a leak somewhere. Turns out I had a slow leak from the stem of my original outlet box. The price on Amazon was better then home depot by several dollars. What I like best about this is that its a simple on/off ball valve and there is no sweating pipe involved in replacing it. All I had to do was cut the existing piece off using a copper pipe cutter and fit this one over the copper piping. Literally, that's it. I know what you're thinking...does it really work? Is it going to leak? I installed a push-fit similar to this one but for my hot water heater and it works great! One recommendation, when fitting your hose into the discharge, be sure to wrap your threads with teflon tape (make sure you wrap in the same direction that you do when tightening the nut). This will prevent any leaks from the threads. All in all, simply and highly recommend. ... show more
