First, quality product, keeps the beer nice and cool and has all the correct holes and everything you could possibly need (without the tower, of course). One important note, it will only hold three 5 gal kegs with difficulty if they are Sanke (I am sure it holds 5 gal Corny kegs easily). It will hold 3 Sanke 5-gals if you place them JUST right and tape the door closed. Due to this, I decided to replace the duct tape with tension latches, which I thought I would screw into the outside wall of the fridge. This is a mistake, it will puncture the freon plate and leak oil and be completely ruined (this was a $450 mistake). Instead, you can use epoxy to affix the tension latches and it will work fine and it will seal with the magnet stripping. I also decided to go big with the tower and bought an old Paulaner's ceramic tower. You can mount this with some modification using four 20UNC threaded rods. It was a bit too wobbly for me sitting on the plastic top though, and the plastic drip tray seems cheap, so I bought a 24"x24" cutting board, routed out a void to put in a stainless steel drip tray and rout a thru-hole for the tower and mounted the threaded rods to the cutting board, which I glued onto the fridge top. Now it looks great and the top is solid. The 4/5 star rating is because I think it should state clearly that 3 standard 5gal kegs require tape to keep it closed. ... show more

    • If only it would get colder

There are two problems with this unit: there is no tower fan, so beer in the tubing in the tier gets very warm and foamy; and second, the unit does not get cold enough to keep beer at 36F to 38F to avoid CO2 breakout. Even when the temperature is set to 32F the liquid temp in the unit is above 40F which resuming foam and flat beer. For ten years I had a commercial kegerator that developed a Freon leak that would have cost as much as a new unit to repair. this replaced it at a fraction of the cost- I had a suretemp liquid filled thermometer mounted on the upper side wall and it was no problem to get and hold the temp to 38F. This unit will not go below 40F. If you require the compressor board and use an external temp controller like an inkbird 308 you can get the kegerator to hold 38F with no problem. Also the plastic top is flimsy and the mount points for the tower seem like they will give over time. However at 30% of the cost of a commercial unit I can make it work. ... show more

Makes a great kegerator that is exactly what I wanted. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is partially my fault. The “deep chill” mode does not time out and that resulted in a frozen keg. Another note worthy topic is that this fridge is louder than the edgstar fridges with just the chill plate. We have this in our living room and you can absolutely hear it if there is no music or tv on. Not terribly loud but worth mentioning. ... show more

Fridge is fantastic and very spacious. The customer service was phenomenal. It came with a superficial dent in the back (obviously from the shipper) . It was quickly resolbed and I will look to them again when I am ready to expand.

Love the details of the design that allows for flexibility - predrilled holes, shelf for co2 as well as the mount on the back. This is a great middle ground between a fridge conversion and a turnkey kegerator. No complaints.

This unit replaced a kegco brand kegerator. The edgestar does not pop like a gun going off the way the kegco unit did. Digital temp controller matches internal temp. I am a happy customer.
