I’ve been using the ECOVACS DEEBOT T30S AI Robot Vacuum and Mop for a few times now, and I honestly can’t believe I didn’t switch to this sooner. Before this, I had a different brand that constantly struggled with hair. No matter what, it would always get tangled in the brush and stop working halfway through a cleaning session. I was getting so frustrated! But with the DEEBOT T30S, I no longer have to worry about that at all. This robot uses advanced AI to map and clean my house, and it’s honestly like it has a mind of its own. It maneuvers around obstacles and under furniture with such precision. I’ve noticed it does a fantastic job in all corners, areas that my old vacuum just couldn’t reach. Plus, it avoids tangling with cords or getting stuck under low furniture—something that my previous model was notorious for. The vacuuming performance is impressive, but the mop feature is a whole other level. I was skeptical at first, but the mop actually leaves my floors looking sparkling clean, without leaving streaks or soaking the floors. It really adds that extra touch to my cleaning routine. I want to be clear upfront: every statement in this review is documented in writing through a month-long support case with Ecovacs (Case #03083758). THE PRODUCT DEFECT Within weeks of use, my DEEBOT T30S AI exhibited a consistent, daily problem: it deposited dirt and debris near the edges of my area rug every time it returned to its docking station after cleaning. The robot would vacuum the floor, then scatter the collected debris back onto the floor near the rug edge on its return journey. This happened every single day without fail. I documented everything — photographs of the debris pattern, screenshots of the robot's cleaning path — and submitted it all to Ecovacs support. After weeks of back-and-forth and multiple rounds of troubleshooting (increase suction, use Deep Cleaning mode, run 2 cleaning passes — all of which I had already tried), Ecovacs support confirmed the following in writing on February 24, 2026: "This behavior is part of the machine's operating logic." Their official recommended solution: "After you hear the 'Cleaning completed' notification, you may manually carry the robot back to the station." That is the Ecovacs solution to a premium autonomous robot vacuum scattering dirt on your floor. Carry it yourself. THE WARRANTY EXPERIENCE When I requested a warranty replacement with a model that does not have this design flaw, Ecovacs offered a replacement unit using the IDENTICAL mopping hardware as my defective T30S AI. Since Ecovacs had already confirmed in writing that there is no firmware fix for this issue, receiving another unit with the same hardware and same operating logic would simply replicate the same problem from day one. I requested an upgraded model with different mopping technology that would address the confirmed design limitation. After months of email exchanges across multiple support agents, Ecovacs refused. Their warranty process ultimately offered no meaningful resolution to a confirmed, documented product defect. THE BOTTOM LINE What this robot does well: Navigation is solid, obstacle avoidance works, and the app has good features. Initial cleaning performance is genuinely impressive. What it fails at: A fundamental design flaw in its return-to-dock behavior causes it to deposit collected debris near carpet and rug edges on every single cleaning cycle. Ecovacs has confirmed this in writing as "part of the machine's operating logic" with no firmware fix available. If you have area rugs anywhere in your home, this robot will leave a mess near the rug edges after every clean — and Ecovacs's solution is for you to manually intervene after each cycle. That defeats the entire purpose of an autonomous robot vacuum. I have since moved to a different brand. I will not be purchasing Ecovacs products again.

This robot vacuum has been a game-changer for our family with 3 girls and a short hair dog. This is our very first purchase of this kind of smart auto vacuum. I have been using it since I bought it non-stop. This vacuum has exceeded my expectations in every way. It navigates my home efficiently, picking up dirt and debris with ease. The suction power is impressive, and it handles both carpets and hard floors seamlessly. It handles my pet hairs without tangling, which is a big plus. The mopping feature leaves my floors spotless. Its efficient auto-cleaning station has saved our valuable time. One cool feature is that the robot can sense the carpet and will not mop the carpet but just vacuums it. when it senses the no carpet floor, the mopping pad drops after vacuuming, so it's pretty seamless. Another cool feature I really like is how it stretches a leg out to mop along the base of the walls, ensuring every corner gets cleaned. This clever feature makes sure even those hard-to-reach spots along the wall are spotless, something a lot of other robot vacuums struggle with. The only cons is this vacuum can be slightly noisy on the higher suction settings. The regular suction setting works great already. While it has minor drawbacks, its overall efficiency and convenience make it a worthy investment for maintaining a clean home. Its powerful suction and advanced navigation make it a great choice for a variety of cleaning needs. Highly recommended.

(updated find at bottom) I was terrified that as soon as the return date passed my robot would breakdown. But I'll give everything that I've made note of: 1. The mapping feature cut off the front of my house the first 3 times I tried to map. It turned out, it needed to be moved a more central area, so I had to forgo the area I've always designated for my robot base. I have crappy wifi, I'll admit, but I had an old robot that mapped no problem, so that was disappointing. But it maps incredibly fast! 2. The mapping and map viewing took a minute to get used to. I was confused as to why I could no longer see the robot's live progress after a few cleanings, and it turns out it only works in the 2d map, not the 3d. 3. You have to place furniture and stuff on the map manually, down to the exact measurements lol I can't do it. I might try. 4. Smart settings and stuff took a while to get used to as well! I was confused on how to set up custom cleanings for different times during the week. And found out that's what the scenarios are for! You customize everything and save it as a scenario, then you can schedule when you want that cleaning scenario to take place! 5. It's made the power go out in the section of the house that it's in multiple times, idky. And when it does lose power and signal the vacuum will look aimlessly for the base despite it being mapped, and slightly heavy handedly to find it lol 6. It will recognize rugs to an okay degree, I assume it would be far better if I had them anchored. As of now, it will drag the rugs. Though, oddly enough it never gets completely stuck with mine. If it can't gently wiggle its way out of a bind after a few tries, it will heave itself free. At least in my case. But the mopping pads will slip under my runner rugs and get it wet. I really do think they just need to be anchored. 7. The AI cleaning where the vacuum will completely customize it's vacuum levels and water levels with mopping and repeatedly go over spots until their clean can only be done for an all over clean. I haven't found any way to do it with a scenario clean or individual room clean 8. Other things are small -the wheel jutting out for corner cleaning will stay jutted out the entire time unless you switch that setting off. It's designed to clean quicker, it says. -It stops to clean the mop almost every room but I don't mind her being a little bougie like that. -The vacuum didn't come with any replacement parts or cleaning solution, it was about $50 more dollars for both (i got a lot of replacements). Mine didn't come with a cleaning tool, I had to get it with the replacement order. -dirty floor water container will smell bad but only when you open it and pour the dirty water out -it doesn't go under things as much or as thoroughly as my old vacuum -the voice is quiet to me even at maximum volume -still don't know if it will do a true dry mop, but you can set the water down to the lowest and it's perfectly fine -some error messages won't leave the app even after fixing it. You have to manually confirm to the app that you've done it, and then it will turn off. -it tells you when it's time to clean the apparatus itself, and be very clear with pictures on which parts to clean and how -camera is weird to have. cool and works well, but it unsettles me. EDITED TO ADD: If you have a high gloss tile, the robot might have issue mopping. Mine worked fine until maybe 2.5 weeks ago, then it moved strangely and heaved itself across the floor as though it was caught on something, so I asked customer service. SOLUTION: the mopping water setting wasn't compatible, and it made the floor too slippery for itself to maneuver well. So I had to lessen the water level to mop that specific room and now it's working just fine again. Any other additional notes, I will continue to add here! That's all I can think of, but my vacuum mop is great and I love it so far! Purchased on October 7th I think? Kept it for over a month cleaning twice daily before I reviewed! I hope this helps anyone!

After using the Ecovacs Deebot T30S for a week, i’m thoroughly impressed with its performance and how much easier it has made my daily routine. One of the first things I noticed was how efficient the setup process was. The robot quickly mapped out my home using its laser navigation system, and within minutes, it had a detailed layout ready in the app. In terms of cleaning power, the T30S exceeded my expectations. I have both carpets and hardwood floors, and the transition between the two was seamless. The suction is strong enough to pull up embedded dirt from my carpet, yet gentle enough for the hardwood without scratching it. The mopping function is a bonus, especially in the kitchen and hallway where there’s more foot traffic. It’s not a deep scrub, but it definitely helps maintain cleanliness in between manual mopping. What I really love about this model is the self-emptying feature. I used to have to empty my old robot vacuum after every clean, but with the T30S, I only need to check the larger base station dustbin every few weeks. The robot empties itself after each run, so I don’t have to think about it. This has been a game-changer, especially since I have pets that shed a lot. I’ve noticed less hair on the floor, and the air even feels a bit cleaner thanks to the filtration system in the base. The app control is another highlight. I can schedule cleaning sessions, set no-go zones, and even tell it to clean specific rooms, all from my phone. I’ve also integrated it with Alexa, so now I can just tell it to start cleaning while I’m busy with other tasks. I was looking to replace my 2nd Shark robo-vac. Initially I wasn’t interested in the mopping function, but finding vacuum only units today is hard & Shark is one of the few viable. So, after much research I decided on the ECOVACS Deebot T30S AI. Pros: the app is great / lots of set table options, the mopping function actually seems to do a good job, the vacuum is powerful & moderate in volume. Cons: the obstacle detection works on everything EXCEPT dog poo —- we have 2 small dogs & one had a mild case of loose stools while we were out & made a deposit on a living room carpet. The vacuum did a great job of not detecting it & plowed right over it & smearing it on the carpet & floors ☹️. Nice surprise to come home to. After 2 hours of manual carpet & floor cleaning & an hour of disassembly, cleaning, & reassembly of the vacuum, I was able to restart the vacuum cleaning process. I do not trust this vacuum to see pet poo again, so I only run it when I’m home & can monitor its function & my dog’s bowel issues. Very disappointing…

Edit: DO NOT BUY! No one had a more positive review but this thing is junk! Hair wrap and MORE HAIR WRAP! Better buy a bunch of rollers for it if you still waste your money on this. Now the pad will not stay on. Clean it, and cleaned the base for the pad. Nope, so it’s chipping my 1865 beautiful wood floors! Dumber than a rock. It never learns, it’s always lost, and now can’t at all get a hold of support. For the hair wrap which there was no answer, it went pretty well. Not now that I’m outside my return window! Chat won’t answer, emails bounce back. BIGGEST PURCHASE REGET EVER! I will give it two stars since it’s okay on floors for dog tumble weeds. Can’t mop, have to touch it EVERYDAY to change the roller and pick hair out of the little wheel. DO NOT BUY! Original review: I had the Shark Matrix Vac only, auto empty from a Xmas deal and found it didn’t have enough suction for what’s coming in the spring when my woolly husky decides to try and go bald since it couldn’t pull any flat hair off the carpet now and my slipper test, of dragging my foot on the carpet, pulled up tons of hair. I will review the Shark with photos of that. Seemed good for wood floors though. The Shark has 2000Pa while my new best friend has 1100Pa at its highest setting. Big difference. The video has a strange CLUMP sound at the end. It’s not the machine, it a door stop missing its rubber piece. Not the machines fault. 4 stars due to being kinda loud. I can watch videos or the TV with the volume more then a little higher but idc, I’m not the one cleaning. Lol. Oops (real time entry lol) it just grabbed the lazy dogs tail. The dog let it happen. It worked out, within 1-2 seconds he got up and it pulled out. He’ll get up next time now. The sound changed which caught my attention to the issue not a dog cry. After its first mapping I was sending this thing back since the mapping was awful and made it impossible to divide rooms. I sent it out to do it again and saw a HUGE difference and sent it out two more times. It doesn’t take long 900sqft area. The difference was unbelievable at that point. I will remap one more time to see if I can get it almost perfect. It learned the muddy mats pretty fast but at first rolled it up at the corners. I didn’t help it out since I wanted it to figure it out. The Shark AI figured things out over time and I’m glad I held off since now my new best friend is not a problem rolling them up. Emptying: it knows to return to the dock to empty and actually resumes. My Shark I returned never resumed. Vacuuming: Did not skip on that blue cheap area rug in the photo. The Shark did, so imo that means this one really does have more suction. This is not a comparison review, I just never used one before I tried the Shark or even seen one in action so it’s my only comparison. Learned well on the muddy mats. So far so good on medium quality carpet that’s old. This machine is strong then some uprights but I do feel I will need to get the upright vacuum out once a week or 10 days. I could be wrong 😊. We’ll see. Picked up hay that fell off my barn coat, got the couple daily dead Asian beetles rural areas have issues with. Battery: idk, I have it on high settings. 301sqft room, 55min with 33% left of a 100% battery. I was okay with it. Navigation: let it map multi times. 1st maps aren’t good so let it learn. You’ll be happy you did. Dividing the rooms becomes easy if you have a good map. I have a complicated old house with high thresholds (it’s getting over them) with a lot of interior doors and multi floor types so I need it to be accurate when divided which was impossible the 1st two maps. I got very irritated due to being impatient and should have just remapped. I was in its way a few min ago. It was kinda of insistent and I decided why wouldn’t I just step aside and I did. It felt like some one was tapping my slippered foot softly. It was light enough when it did it to the dog who didn’t even get up. You can PATROL your house with it using its camera. If I had little kids around, I’d surely use that feature. It found dirt in the mud room I didn’t know was there. I had to clean the very duty sensors twice. No fault of the machine. The Shark didn’t find that heavy dust. I don’t even know where it found it exactly. I’m not a dirty person. lol but it is a mud room on a farm. Pairing: INSTANTLY Moping: I have not mopped yet due to mud season showing up and that’s not a fair fight with three dogs here. I will update when I do. For some odd reason one wash arm looks like it’s coming out to mop. Maybe it’s used to help it do something like turn, idk. It wasn’t mopping. 4 Star Reason. It’s a little loud but again idc, it’s a vacuum, they’re not quiet. I do not think the wash pads are high enough. I personally do not care since my carpets are old. I can’t imagine they will not get wet as the machine goes from lower solid wood floors onto plush wall to wall carpet. I felt it should have given up tapping me to move. More than 3 is too many for me, it did suck the dogs tail up. No harm to the dog nor did I have to intervene.

But there is a downside to it, it doesn’t really clean up the edges of the wall. This vacuum is surprisingly powerful for its size.
