I’ve used this for almost a month and haven’t had to mop by hand ever since😎 I haven’t used the vacuum either, just my handheld vacuum to reach awkward corners the robot can’t reach. This is perfect for my all-wood flooring that gets dusty super quickly and easily shows dust, hair, and water spots. The best robot vacuum I have owned so far.

The ECOVACS DEEBOT X12 OmniCyclone has completely changed the way I clean my home. After using several robot vacuums over the years, this is the first one that truly feels like a hands-off cleaning solution rather than a gadget that still requires constant maintenance. What immediately impressed me was the incredible 22,000Pa BLAST suction power. Whether it’s pet hair, dust, dirt, or debris buried deep in carpets, the X12 picks it up with ease. The ZeroTangle technology actually works, which means I no longer spend time cutting hair off brushes every week. For homes with pets, this feature alone is worth its weight in gold. The standout feature is the FocusJet Pre-Spray system. Instead of simply dragging a damp mop over dried spills, the X12 identifies stubborn messes and pre-treats them before scrubbing them away. Coffee drips, dried paw prints, kitchen splatters, and other tough stains that previous robot mops struggled with are removed far more effectively. Cleans well but takes a long time

Definitely a time saver. Does a great job vacuuming. Mopping is less effective, helps, but no substitute for a real mop. My only real complaint is that the bin on the robot is so small that it seems to spend much of its time going back and forth to empty it. Makes the vacuum take much longer, particularly when it gets to the farther ends from the central dock. I have many dogs, so there is a fair amount of fur to vacuum.

X12 = best purchase of 2026 for me

It gave me back about 8 hours a month, and the floors are cleaner Our house: 3 large dogs, a cat, and a wife with long hair. Zero tangles on the roller. Maintenance every 2-3 days is dumping the dust bin, dumping the dirty water, and topping off the clean tank (distilled only, since we are on well water). It takes 3-5 minutes. The cleaning solution in the base should last about a month with my routine. Once a month I deep clean the base and robot, which takes 20-30 minutes. The self-cleaning mop roller is consistently clean when I check it at that monthly cleaning. The time math: before this, I vacuumed for 20-25 minutes every other day and mopped for 45-60 minutes once a week. That was roughly 8 to 10.5 hours a month. Now I spend under 2 hours a month total, including the deep clean. That is about 8 hours saved every month, or about 96 hours a year. That is over 2 full work weeks back in my pocket. How I judge a purchase: I am a maintenance technician with nearly two decades of professional experience, and I can fix or clean just about anything myself. To balance home, work, and free time, I pay myself a theoretical $25/hr (half what a pro would charge, since I am only half as good as one). Then I compare my labor plus parts against buying a replacement, hiring a service, or buying a tool. If a $50 machine needs an hour and $20 in parts to fix, that is 90% of the replacement cost, so I buy new. If a $500 machine needs two hours and a $10 part, I fix it. Running this vacuum through that math: 8 hours saved a month at $25/hr is $200 a month, or about $2,400 a year in value. I paid $898.99, so it pays for itself in about 4.5 months. Even using my most conservative time estimate, it is under 6 months. After that, it is pure time back. Battery, performance, and AI: - Battery: a non-issue. When the robot bin fills, it heads to the base to dump and rapidly tops off the battery with PowerBoost Charging, so it finishes the job every time. - Performance: great across the board. It handles the fur, mud, and dirt from 3 big dogs, a cat, and long hair without missing a beat. - AI features: also great. The auto mapping is smart and I can modify the map afterward, it has never gotten stuck, and I can use my voice to send it to the front door when the dogs track in water or mud. Other things I like: - No more fur tumbleweeds or buildup between cleanings, and no more manual mopping. - I run it at night and it has never woken anyone up. The dirty water is an unpleasant necessity, but it is extremely satisfying to see how much dirt and debris it pulls off the floor. With this many pets, it is worth every penny.

Two DOA units and still without a solution.

I purchased this back on August 12 and it arrived on the 15th. When I was assembling the unit, I noticed right away the part of the plug that goes in the outlet didn’t fit properly. It was very loose and would sag downward away from the outlet. I finished unboxing everything and turned everything on and the robot works fine, but the base station makes some noises when it’s powered on and then nothing. The app doesn’t detect the base station nor does the robot as it can’t dock. So I reach out to Amazon to see about an exchange and they say it’s refund only due to low inventory. But they still have it up for everyone and their mom to buy. So I go thru Ecovacs and it’s a long and tedious process because you’re playing tech support email tag over time zones. Initially, they tell me to go thru Amazon and I reply back stating tried that and they told me refund only but I want another unit (since it went off sale). So they have me take photos and videos of each item and the serials and the issue and then they email me back and say well we’re out of power cords so we can’t just switch that out - we’ll send you a whole new unit and you can ship us the defective one back. Received the replacement unit today and 100% same problems - power cable doesn’t fit properly in the outlet and base station only powers on for a second and then dies. Now I’m a reasonable person so I too was like - what are the chances? So I take my old school vacuum and record a whole new video for support showing me unplugging and re-plugging the base station in, turning it on, the little noise it makes and then nothing. And then I plug my old school upright vacuum into the same outlet and show how the cable doesn’t sag out of the outlet and the vacuum roars on when I press the power button so it can’t be the outlet. All things considered it looks Ecovacs is having some quality control problems that they need to look into and address. And I feel like the fact that they don’t have any power cables to ship as replacements is also interesting and telling. Beyond the inconvenience of having two defective units back-to-back, which means weeks of now being able to have the floors cleaned, there’s also time you have to set aside to be at home for UPS to be able to pick up the defective item (for the Amazon unit/return) and then also a separate trip and more time going to FedEx to drop off the RMA that was also defective. For all of this they offered me a discount on accessories which cost them literally nothing to make. At the end of the day my trust in Ecovacs and their credibility to me as a consumer is now fractured because this is a clear issue that needs to be addressed. Maybe they should switch the wall outlet over to a 3-prong design to accommodate the slippage issue and provide more support/stability in the outlet which reduces the risk of a fire versus if its constantly dipping down and out on its own. What was also interesting is even if you held the cable in the outlet and tried to power on the base station it still wouldn’t so it makes you wonder if its also a power supply unit/under-voltage issue. For the record, I had a previous X9 Omni from Ecovacs and a Dreame that plugged into this very same outlet with no issues.

Worth it, but… regular frustrations

Love this, but it has had multiple issues. The first one began leaking early on and the second one has dust bin emptying issues. When it works, it does do a fantastic job! Also cannot for the life of me replace the side brush. It does not come off easily as the instructions show. It’s going to break if I try any more

Makes cleaning the floors so much easier

I was so tired of having to vacuum every day (and sometimes twice a day) to pick up all the cat litter and dust on our wood and tile floors. We decided to try a Robot Vacuum to reduce the need for us to vacuum all the time. This robot vacuum has fit the bill for what we were looking for. It was really easy to set up and we were amazed at how it was able to map our house so well. I can either have the robot vacuum clean the whole house or just a room or two which makes things even better. It will self-return to the station when it needs to self-empty its bin and then quickly returns to complete the job. This particular vacuum was thinner so it will go under most of our furniture. So far we are really pleased with this product and would recommend it to others, especially if you have pets. Ps. I think my cat thinks I bought him another toy!

Initial Problems resolved by Great Customer Service and the Successor is Excellent

This is a follow up reflecting a total change in heart. The initial issues were resolved by a return. The customer service was exceptional. After returning this robot, I replaced it with the successor, Ecovacs X12S pro omni. This was a shock. Not only does it perform exceptionally well but it is better in every performance task. It mops better, vacuums better, and its navigation and object avoidance are excellent. The robot has incredibly advanced and technically attractive characteristics and on paper is the most advanced flagship product on the market today. Hopefully, the replacement through the upgraded ECOVACS X12S will confirm the huge technical advances contained in the robot!
