I purchased this having read the reviews and knowing that I would need to modify it. I followed the instructions left by "Android" with title , Works OK, but needs some modifications to stop attachments falling off." I found their instructions a bit confusing, so I added my own photos and comments in the photos. I made all of these modifications before I stared my install. Preparation You need to cut 2 bushing for the short spring part. Use a 1/2 inch black pipe and cut each bushing 1.25 inches long. Nothing is greased, so grease everything as you reassemble. Short Spring Side: Take the bolt out and remove the spring washers and black handle. Place a washer over the bushing (post) that is part of the base, and then place the black handle back into position. Take the bolt and install upside down (short end going into the bushing). Place the 3/4 washer over the bolt and nut so it lays ontop of the black handle. Put the spring on the bolt Put the 1 1/4 inch long bushing that you cut from 1/2 inch black pipe on the bolt, it should slide inside of the spring Put on another 3/4 washer then the original washer, then the original nut on the bolt and tighten Not shown is the second nut that I still need to get, so there should be 2 nuts in a row so you can locked them in place. Long Spring Side The copper block marked A has a bushing (post) that sticks inside of the black counter leaver marked B. The post is about 1/8 inch too long and must be ground down to sit flush (ground the copper post, do not modify the black part). Using 1/2 washers, make a stack 3/4 inch to 1 inch tall to use as a spacer. (I chose to make my spacer 3/4 inches). You have to remove the nut and work the leaver so that enough sticks out to add the spacers and then put the nut back on. I had to use a wench to keep the pen from going all the way down when the leaver was engaged, this gave me enough room to put my washers on and hand tighten the nut on. Once the nut is hand threaded on, you can move the leaver and just use a wrench to tighten the nut Other Finally, the cotter pen that mine came with were trash, I replaced both of them with 1/4 cotter pins. These fit fine, but I doubt you can go bigger. I know the cotter pins that came with mine looked more like twisted wire, and not pins at all. More Notes: There is no mechanism to stop the leaver handle from moving too far one way or the other. When I weld this on my tractor, I think there will be a piece of steel that will act as a stop, to prevent the leaver from moving too far. DO KNOW, when the leaver moves too far, the pin misaligns, and you have to push or pull the pin, right or left to realign and pull the leaver back in; this is why the stop is so important. I will likely have to weld on a stop for the open position and a stop for the closed position. I will also end up welding a bar connecting the two quick attach plates together...it seems that some people have issues with their leader arms not maintaining their distance, which then causes the quick attach plates to not align with their implements. Putting a brace connecting the plates should prevent the loader arms from spreading outward or inward, and prevent misalignment issues some people have had. I hope this information helps. The quick attach plates are bigger and thicker than I thought they would be and are probably over-kill for my compact tractor (Kubota L series). I spent about $40.00 in extra parts; $25 was for the 4 feet of black pipe....even though I only needed 2.5 inches of it, lol... the washers costs the other $15.

This product requires a lot of fabrication to be used. If you don't beef up all areas of the plate it will bend under weights of less than 600 lbs. I recommend spending a bit more and going with a product that can handle the work you require it to. These are cheap for a reason. I am not sure why they even paint them because of the amount of fabrication required it is necessary to grind it all off, at least the back side. On top of that they are to short from top to bottom to fit on mainstream skid steer attachments, meaning there is a space between the bottom of the plate and the bottom of the attachment. This makes it hard for the pins to go into the spaces on the bottom of the attachment correctly. This is very unsafe for people and material. The handles do not lock in place, why do we have to do more fabrication for this simple action to work properly...

For the price its well worth it. I got it to install on a new idea loader. I cut off mounting brackets from an old manure bucket and welded them on quick attach. It's heavy enough for a 60hp tractor range.

I saw a few reviews about how there is nothing to keep the handle from Rotating all the way back over or past the cam, which is true. But this isn't meant to be a completed assembly as the price reflects. But it is a good base to complete a custom quick attachment connection. But make no mistake there is a substantial amount of fabrication work left to complete but this is an excellent start to that project.
