Features

  • Multiple Uses: They are designed to be used to transport water sports equipment such as kayaks, canoes, surfboards, ski & snow boards, windsurfing boards and various small sailboats.
  • Exterior Design: Adjustable foam pads and rubber bottom base are made of high-quality materials that are non-slip, water-resistant and sun-resistant. Smaller diameter nozzles and pre-drilled holes in the tube are for better tube alignment and splicing, making the rack more stable and sturdy.
  • Excellent Craftsmanship: The racks are made of 1.5mm thick steel tube, and the 4 straps (8" length) can accommodate a 36" wide and 75lbs kayak. The surfaces of the racks are finished with a high quality smooth black paint that is resistant to all weather conditions and has a longer lifespan.
  • Applicable Size: The J-Bar racks fit most factory or market roof rails such as oval, square, and flat except round crossbars (old crossbars are within 2.5" wide and 1" thick). Crossbars are thicker than 1" or wider than 2.5" will not be mounted properly.
  • Convenient Operation: **Instructions are not included** This J-Bar Rack can hold 2 kayaks and includes 4 racks, 4 straps and universal mounting accessories. Just attach the kayak to the side of the rack, taking up minimal space on the cross bar.

  • Worked
They worked good for my kayaks. I had one XL Adult kayak and Small Adult kayak on them. The stability is great. Made them feel secure. The fit is good since they fit on my removable roof racks. The noise is none. There was no missing parts.

  • Not heavy duty, sturdy enough for a light kayak. Terrible assembly. See my notes. Good price.
Hours to put together because of the diameter of the rubber holes (pic2) and trying to make sure the square beneath the head of the bolt fit into the kayak pipe beneath the rubber. It was terrible, so, I figured out some good tips to help you save time. I have had many kayak racks and have never spent more than 20-30 minutes putting together a set of 4, this set was a challenge. TIPS--> 1. Take a small piece of paper towel with dish detergent and water on it and rub it into the rubber holes (pic3). 2. Insert ALL BOLTS through the rubber to get the correct alignment through the rubber and the metal plates. 3. Put your thumb on the head of the screw and press in while turning the nut with the wrench, hopefully the bolt-head will go all the way down the hole easily and fit into the square of the metal pipe. 4. If the head does not go all the way down then tap the bolt to push it gently back out of the rubber hole, realign it and try screwing it back in. Only 1 bolt did not fit well and I had to reset it 5 times. Lubricating the hole with soap definitely makes the screw head go down more easily. Good Luck. The metal is not as thick/sturdy as my old kayak racks. Tie-down straps were supplied but I suggest trying them out on something around the house to make sure they grab well and do not loosen, protect your kayaks. Hope I helped. ... show more

  • Cheap and works!
So, first off the directions are horrible and grainy, but I figured it out by grouping everything and thinking it through (I’ll attach photo so you can decide the difficulty yourself). The screws fit the holes, I didn’t need to do anything to adjust them- it just took a a while to tighten properly because you have to get the screws pushed ALL the way in the tighter or else the screw just twists with the bolt. I would suggest doing this but using a rubber mallet to hit the top of the screw down, because it’s a big pain in the butt when you actually have it mounted (which is what I did). You’ll probably want a wrench to do this, as no tools are provided (two different sized bolts). That’s said, we had our first outing with these J bars AND used the included straps (we have crank ones but they seemed a little excessive for what we needed). Absolutely no issues with the kayaks, although we did only travel about 10 miles. They are easy to use, just make sure ALL the screws are tight. Overall, I’m am happy with this purchase! They will do great and are affordable. I might want to save up for ones that collapse, but given Covid and how I almost never drive, I don’t mind leaving these guys on there. ... show more

  • Great value for the money and quality
I bought the double set for two kayaks. These could easily be be double the cost, excellent value. The fit and finish is fine and the build quality seems great. I mounted them and bought two 12 ft kayaks and drove home from an hour away on freeway and highway. Performed great with kayaks on and makes no noise with no kayaks mounted. There was one hardware item missing in my order. Seller sent a replacement harware KIT, not just the one part. Very pleased and would recommend. Other reviewer left one star because it does not include instructions on how to mount kayaks. His flew off of his rack. Apparently he never heard of Youtube. ... show more

  • Good Product, but not easy to assemble...get a real wrench!
Overall I am very pleased with the quality of this product for the price. It is really a good, high quality and sturdy carrier. Having said that, assembly of these J Bars takes time, patience and much better tools than what they provide with the package. The little wrench that comes with it is useless. You will not be able to get the bolts tight without a socket or real wrench. The holes line up but not perfectly, so you have to drill, hammer and twist some of the carriage bolts to get them to seat properly through the rubber boot that connects everything together. If you have some basic tools, patience and some common sense, this will work well for you. If not, find someone who does! Once I got all the J Bars assembled and tightened it was very easy to attach them to the crossbars and they have performed very well. I gave two stars for the assembly process, but otherwise gave five stars for everything else. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Just got some new kayaks and had to adapt my trailer so it could haul 4 kayaks instead of 2. Was fairly easy to attach to the square bars on my trailer.
