Very sturdy once installed. The only bad thing was the tightening of all the bolts and screws. Definitely suggest using different tools and installing on the cross bars with them off the car. Made it so much easier. For what you’re paying, the product is solid.

Was a bitch to screw in all the bolts but worth it. If ur hands get tired I recommend putting it all together and then putting it on vehicle the next day. Has held up so far.

The total install time was maybe a half hour, from opening the box to the final tightening of the bolts. I used thread-lock on some of the assembly bolts, out of an abundance of caution. I left it on the car most of the summer and there was a little rust on the bolts when I took it off this fall. The foam was still in pretty good shape, just covered in bugs. I used it to haul 2 10' kayaks with the center poles up and a 14' tandem with the center pole down. The kayaks were held securely and I had no problems with them on a highway trip of about an hour. I'd highly recommend these. Much cheaper than the big names but sturdy enough. I also used them to help haul lumber for a backyard project, but that's probably not their intended use...

These were perfect for hauling our 2 kayaks. Sleek look when folded down, no issues with lowered gas mileage or whistle. By far my favorite method for transporting. Only modification we had to make was to shorten the bolts so they wouldn't touch the roof. My bars are fairly low and kayaks weigh it down. That combined with back roads was a recipe for disaster, so we trimmed the bolts just in case and no damage.
