No need to pay the hefty price for Thule or Yakima. This roof rack (double kayak) is rugged heavy gauge steel, well built and sturdy. Well designed with high density padding where it’s needed and all the straps you need to secure it to your vehicle. I like that the upright bars can be folded flat. Instructions aren’t great but you can figure it out with the pictures and some common sense. Even came with kayak bow and stern carrying handle straps which I wasn’t expecting. Glad I went with this seller!

Great product! Easy to assemble if you have tools, the provided "tool" kinda sucks. Been on the car for about a month some rust showing on the nut and bolts. I carry 2 13' tandem fishing yaks on our car. Comes with ratchet straps, tie downs and straps for the hood and back door to tie down to. I love that it lays down completely when not in use. Too much of a pain to take off the car, total of 16 bolts to remove. Overall, happy with the product. At a great prrice compared to other name brand mounts. Fits well on my vehicle.

Weirdly this comes with a fair bit of extra hardware— nuts and washers and four shorter-length bolts that never get used, but I can’t call that a bad thing, just a little confusing, since it’s not like these are extra pieces in case one gets lost. Like other reviewers have said it’s very difficult to screw the eight plastic wing nuts onto the bar, since they have a nylon ring inside, so expect your hands to get tired. If you want to regularly take this on and off your roof rack, this isn’t a good product for you, but if you wanna leave it on forever you’ll probably never even need to re-tighten the screws.

This product seems to be very sturdily built, the installation was straightforward and when folded down fits perfectly in my garage. It will be a permanent part of my Rogue all Summer and Fall.

The total install time was maybe a half hour, from opening the box to the final tightening of the bolts. I used thread-lock on some of the assembly bolts, out of an abundance of caution. I left it on the car most of the summer and there was a little rust on the bolts when I took it off this fall. The foam was still in pretty good shape, just covered in bugs. I used it to haul 2 10' kayaks with the center poles up and a 14' tandem with the center pole down. The kayaks were held securely and I had no problems with them on a highway trip of about an hour. I'd highly recommend these. Much cheaper than the big names but sturdy enough. I also used them to help haul lumber for a backyard project, but that's probably not their intended use...

Easy to install just take your time. It was very easy to fit two kayaks on my vehicle. Since they lay flat they do not look weird on top of the car when not in use.

Know going into this that you need to install 8 bolts per mount. The kit comes with a little socket tool, but it's going to suck. I recommend finding yourself a 1/2" deep socket and a drill to socket adapter to make it go much faster. The hard part is once all the bolts are mounted, you need to thread on 8 plastic knobs per mount, and they're between the crossbars and the car. They have the plastic retaining ring in the nut so they are hard to tighten. It may help to lay a towel on the roof of the car to protect it and use pliers or channel locks for leverage, but it'll mark up the knobs. Once it's together it's fine, but it's a bear to install or remove. Did add quite a bit of wind noise to my car.
