  • Great Product (In depth review here)
Unit is great but giving 4 stars for lack of instruction booklet. Instead of a instruction pamphlet, they included a pamphlet letting you know you can download it digitally. It seems to me the cost put toward including this paper with a QR code could have covered the cost of simply putting in an instruction booklet and I suspect they just want my data so they can send me never ending junk mail. Seems shady to me and I didn't appreciate it. Now for the review. As far as the unit, it's what I was hoping. The issue with stair steppers that led me to this product is the stairs move down and you don't engage the glutes as much because there is no resistance... unless you pop up to a standing position and lift your body weight which does better for glute engagement vs just holding your weight and letting the moving stair go down... Not much glute engagement there. Also they are large and a lot of homes don't have enough ceiling clearance. The issue with other steppers like this one is they don't allow you to put your full body weight one one foot because you have to keep half your body weight on the other pedal or your other foot will just slam down. You can't use your full body weight to engage leg muscles in each leg. And it is like doing a half rep on an exercise to me with each step. Not efficient. This stepper machine with its magnetic resistance allows me to put all my weight on one foot to fully engage my leg muscles. I can even lift my other foot completely up off the other pedal and be supported by the other single pedal (I am 210 lbs) I had to do some digging to find a video that showed that this product can do that and the manufacturer should brag about this and put a video showing users lifting their other foot while stepping. Also with the handle bar on this I can lean back and really engage my glutes or stand straight up to hit quads harder or lean over the handle bars to hit my calves more. I'm 6' 2" and I am happy with the stride length of this machine. If you flex your glutes at the bottom of the motion you will really feel it. The added resistance with each step is a bonus and you can adjust the resistance with the touch of a button from the display screen. Nice to not have to hop off and turn a knob to go up or down on resistance. Folds up and stores away easy, seems solid and well built, and I think it is better than a motorized stair machine with a smaller price tag and smaller foot print. It would be nice if the display could also be plugged in but if I could only choose one or the other, battery powered is better to allow for easier mobility. Batteries will last a long time probably with the LCD screen. Though my machine will be mostly in one spot. Not sure if there is other cheaper models that could be on this same level as this product but I went with this one and I am happy. ... show more
