Place the heavier Ebike inside, position the front ends of the two eBikes facing opposite directions and adjust the pedals if the bike hits the rack. d. • Iron Deer Ebike rack with Ramp
The ebike rack is awesome. Very sturdy and east to put on and take off the back of the car. The customer service at Iron Deer is excellent and very helpful as I had the bike rack for a few months (all winter!) before putting on the car. They honored their warranty for 18 months from date of purchase. The card in the box said you had to register the bike rack within a month. The ramp was not included in the box and they sent me one in a timely manner, within a week. I highly recommend this product and company. ... show more

  • Looks like this might be the ticket....
Hyperax recalled my RV e-bike rack which I had used about three years. Looking for replacement rack that could handle two e-bikes was tough. The lower cost ones looked rickety and had many poor reviews. The $800+ Thule's and Yakima's is out of my price range and still had plenty of poor reviews. I needed a rack and the Iron Deer seemed to have the best design to do a tough job and still be affordable. The box arrived in good condition, and it contained all of the parts. Assembly was basically unpacking the box and reading the instructions. When folded up it is very easy to roll around and pick up with its carrying handle, despite its weight. It shouldn't be a problem for most people to pick up and fit into their trailer hitch. The ramp really helps in loading a heavy ebike onto the rack. It takes a little kentucky windage to get the frame clamps properly positioned for your particular bikes, especially for the outside one, but not a big deal. The rack fold down to open my pickup tailgate kept the bikes solidly in place and the bikes in the rack were easy to lower and raise and my RAM 1500 was able to open all the way down. Mounted two bikes and test drove them on bumpy paved two lane, over a raised RR crossing, and on I-94 up to 80mph. 60-70 miles all told. Hold was solid with minimal jostling. No scratches on the bikes due to rubbing the other bike or the rack or my tailgate. My eMTN bikes have about a 50in. wheelbase. As advertised 50 inches is the max you can get on this rack, so I got lucky there. Although I don't think they recommend using this rack mounted to a camping trailer, I think I will be comfortable using this rack on my trailer because my RV has a real frame mounted receiver. I can't give five stars to a product like this until it lasts two years and I have encounters with customer service, which I have not needed. I suspect (but don't know) Iron Deer is like any other Amazon seller without a phone number and works only via email - hit and miss. Final word so far, 4.5/5 or 9/10. 6/10/2026 Follow Up Took a heavy e-bike to the Black Hills and back, about 2000 miles. Bouncing along on rough forest service roads and avg 80mph (max 104) on the interstate. No problems at all. Upgrading rating to five stars. ... show more

  • Nice carrier,
This is a very nice carrier. However I had to return it because it was too small for my ebikes. The description said up to 50" wheelbase. Mine are 49" and were over the edge. The ramp makes it easy to load.

  • Solid bike rack easy for even seniors to use.
I wasn't sure what to expect but was hopefull this would work well with our Ebikes. I am 100% pleased with this rack! It is solidly constructed and easy to load our bikes on. With the allen screw properly tightened I can't hear any rattling in our Jeep Cherokee. After getting the mounts properly adjusted the bikes seem very solidy held in place. The read bonus with this rack is how it folds compactly for storage and has built in wheels and handles to move it arround when it's off the vehicle. Even 60 something me finds it easy to mount, remove, and store. ... show more

  • Iron Deer is strong like Iron Bull
I bought this e-bike rack to mount my Lectric XP4 to a class B Ram ProMaster RV. I also bought a Kuat Pivot 2 swing away rack which this is attached to. I wasn't sure that the two would be compatible, but as I was watching Iron Deer review videos on YT I saw one and the vehicle also had a Kuat rack. This rack is very easy to assemble, in fact there's no assembly at all. I also love that it has wheels! It's super easy to wheel from place to place. I did see in several videos that it had a lock at the point of contact on the hitch but I did not know it also has a locking mechanism around the center post that prevents the release lever from being deployed to unlatch the bike. I would still run a security cable but these included locks are very nice touches. It was a bit finicky getting the tightness and alignment on that center post, but that was mainly due to it being my first time with a setup like this. I took my whole setup on a 6 hour drive from Chicago to Mammoth Cave, KY and I stopped a lot when I first left because I was worried. But after maybe the 4th time checking on bike at a rest stop I was so happy that my very heavy bike was ROCK SOLID on rack. Oh! I forgot the best part! The little ramp. A ramp was my 1st criteria when I was searching for bike racks. My bike is a heavy girl but I can push it up the ramp even without the bike's "walk" mode being on. I prefer to travel w the battery removed for safety, but the ramp angle means I can still push it up with no problems. Obligatory *I am a small female* description here. The rack also comes with extra straps and an extra long center post thing for a second bike. The tilt feature is also very cool and it is easy to tilt a heavy bike. I don't personally use the tilt feature because I also bought a pivot Kuat hitch. But the price to quality ratio for this rack can't be beat IMHO. ... show more

  • Ease Ouse easy to store
This seems to be a very sturdy rack. The hitch “ lock” is a bit light weight but could be somewhat cumbersome to steal. Carries 2 heavier e bikes with no wobble and it’s easy to secure them. Rack is very easy to get on/off my Jeep Grand Cherokee and folds for easy storage. This rack is just what I was looking for. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Clever but not really practical
Really clever folding mechanism, but the actual hold down system is a little disappointing. To start, there is a lever you need to push down on to get the trailer hitch section to fold down so you can put it in the receiver. I felt like i had to pick up that end of if (rather than leave it on the roller wheels) to get that lever far enough down to get it to actuate. The. You slide it into the receiver hitch and then kneel on the ground with your allen wrench and tighten up the hitch receiver portion. This is pretty tedious to do when putting on and taking off every time. Then you can fold down the bike portion and setup the ramp to load the inside bike first. But as you are getting the bike up the ramp and onto the rack, there is nothing to prevent you from going too far and coming off the rack on the other side. So you then can use the straps to hold down the wheels (hopefully you can do this without it falling off at least untill you get the first strap in place. Then you have to open up the center clamp so it will fit on the u shaped piece and very tediusly crank it down to clamp on the u shapped metal. Then you can trt to use the strap on the center hold down to strap either the top tune or the seatpost tube. On a stepthrough this will be the seat tube. But then strap clamp wont work on the center hold down unless the lock portion is upside down (when connecting to seatpost rather than cross bar) . For the second bike then center piece is tricky ad you have to feed it through the other bike. So you have to load/unload in specific order of the center supports will be in the way ... show more
