This is a great option for extending the life of your outdoors spaces (porch, gazebo, deck, etc.) longer into the season. I'm thoroughly impressed with how well packaged this was. It's a large box and it had a few shipping/handling dings in it, but the interior contents were in perfect condition. It assembled in about 40 minutes for me. Everything I needed to assemble it was in the box and the instructions were some of the best I've received. It heats up well and lights quickly and easily. I think this is a great value for such a nice product. I'm very pleased!

After reading the other reviews, it doesn’t leave much to say but I agree with every positive comment regarding this EAST OAK 50,000 BTU Patio Heater. The heater came very well packed, each piece having a box, cardboard, styrofoam or plastic protecting it; all parts pristine, not a scratch or scuff. The hardware was labeled and attached to cardboard with simple direct instructions for assembly, took right around an hour. Not that I put it together but as I watched my husband, he mentioned a couple times how easy the instructions made the assembly and I know it for a fact because he did not raise his voice or swear at all. Once it was put together and a propane tank added, also a simple hook up, it started first try. There was a bit of a breeze so my husband adjusted it a couple times and then it heated up fairly quickly. This heater will extend my outside time significantly, no more getting out of the pool and running to take a hot shower to warm up! There are also times when a get together has to be moved inside due to guests being chilly, not with this nearby. It heats a pretty wide area, quite a few people will be able to take advantage of the heat. This heater is also very nice looking, not at all cheap or tacky, looks more commercial grade. Moving it is not hard, just lean it over onto the wheels and put it where you want. The only slightly negative thing I can say about this heater is it really is not that heavy even with the base filled with sand, a plus for moving around but a minus with the high winds we have. I see the top reflector shield as a wind catcher and we will definitely have to move it under the patio to keep it from blowing over in the wind when not in use. I have wanted one of these outdoor heaters since discovering them at an outdoor restaurant years ago, this one works great, looks great and is very well made should last a long time. Price is reasonable, I highly recommend this product, buy it no need to freeze any longer! Update already: Did not make it through the first windstorm unscathed. Background, the heater was covered and slid under the patio cover, surrounded by eight foot fence. Weather station says gusts up to 35 miles an hour in the area. The heater did not blow over or lose any parts but the pole bent right where it attaches to the base, now oddly cocked. I am not taking away any stars, still feel it is a quality product, how much wind should it be able to withstand? Consider this a warning for high winds and your patio heater.

We have a deck umbrella by East Oak so I was excited to see this patio heater by them being offered. It arrived well packaged with no damage. It took about an hour to fully assemble. Comes with a base you can fill with sand and/or water. Along with the filled base and the propane cylinder, there's alot of weight and wind shouldn't be an issue. Once I had it all put together, it started on the first try. Puts out A LOT of heat. Our last patio heater had a door to access and change out tanks. I think I like this method better because it gives the unit a cleaner look. Will be nice to sit around this on cooler spring nights. Another winner from this brand! I give it a 4/5 and would recommend to a friend.

Comes well packed in a big cardboard box. Weighs about 38lbs so It's not to heavy to move around. With a full 20lb propane tank in it (there is a strap inside to hold it steady) you need to add 55lbs to it. As the propane burns the weight will decrease but an empty 20lb propane tank still weighs 35lbs. Comes with all hardware needed to assemble it ans also has a set of 2 wheels which means you don't have to pick it up to move it. There is a plastic tank that screws onto the base but it's on the inside so you can't see it. I'm guessing it holds about 1 gallon (8lbs) of water. Pretty sure this is just to make it a little more stable when there is no propane tank in it. Fit and finish on the entire item is very good. I could find nothing to complain about. Took me about 30 minutes to put it together. Not bad. The entire heater (except the burner element,top reflector and top of the base that holds the tank) is made from some sort of powder coated metal but they don't say what it is. The Burner element is 304 stainless steel. Nice and shiny - until you use it for a few hours when a little soot starts to appear. Very easy to clean though. If I measured correctly, the reflector on top is 33" wide. Yes, it gets hot. Total height is about 87". Read the manual. It details how far away from things this needs to be. I think it's 48" away from everything and anything. Safety first, right? Again, read the manual. Overall, I'm happy with this and I'm sure it will get plenty of use. Good deal for a good product. Easy to recommend.
