Shopped around for awhile before finally settling on this model. This is the 3rd patio heater I’ve owned and it was clear right away that it was a quality product. Starting with the packaging, just wow. Very carefully packed and protected. Had all the parts and even spares of everything. The instructions were very clear and the setup was easy even if you aren’t a great assembler. It was roughly 2 hours from when I started opening the box to fully assembled. Here’s the best part!     • Looks great but not as effective for heating

Directions are pretty good, and it doesn't take too long to put all the many pieces together (an hour roughly). I appreciate that it comes with all the tools you need to complete the job. Larger/taller than I expected, which is great. Pretty easy to hook up but you have to press & hold the button a lot longer than I'm used to with a propane torch because the gas has to go a lot further distance so there is a slight learning curve if you haven't had one of these before. Looks really great. My biggest complaint is that most of the heat comes out the top, so it's not as efficient or effective in providing warmth as I experienced with other patio heaters. It is still powerful and works great, just not the best design. Pretty good quality materials and really heavy - I would recommend getting a wheel kit so it's a lot easier to move. Really cool to just look at and watch the flame. All in all, good quality manufacturing company, good product, just ok heater. ... show more

This is a fun and patio heater. It looks like no other that I've seen - it's a fun conversation piece while hosting a get-together, and it does it's job to keep us warm in cold weather. Out of the box, there is assembly required. My husband and 14 year old son got this bad boy put together in about an hour. It's not difficult to put together, just takes some time. The end result is a beautiful patio heater that we can confidently display on our patio. It's gorgeous, the flames are mesmerizing to look at it and the detail in the design is gorgeous. As far as it being an outdoor heater, it's different than the standard radiant heat from a typical patio heater. You can most certainly feel the heat more around the top part where the flame is, but the heat does dissipate all the way to the ground - we fired it up our patio floor was wet and cold and it dried up the water on the ground. We used this on Christmas day, which was cold, and everyone was hanging out on the patio in comfort. This parts of this patio heater are durably constructed, it's made to last which I have no doubts it will. This is my second product from East Oak (I also have the 29" Smokeless Fire Pit) and their quality is top notch. They are not just beautiful, but they are highly functional and a pleasure to use. This would make a great gift or addition to your outdoor set-ups. I would totally recommend this product, it's a joy to use and looks great while not in use. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is the second East Oak product we have gotten this year, and it is our first propane outdoor heater. Everything East Oak produces is top quality and reliable. This heater is no different. It came in a box about the size of a 65-inch TV and took about an hour to assemble. I was not looking forward to doing the assembly; however, I was surprised at how easy it was. I timed it but was shocked when I saw it was 60 minutes. It didn’t feel that long, and it certainly was not tedious. There are just a lot of parts. I also love that everything you need is included, even the tools. I tried setting it up with just what came with it, and everything worked perfectly. The outer parts, such as the top and the four base pieces, were well protected, and some were individually wrapped for protection from scratches. I love the wavey pattern; it gives it a nice professional look. It includes the option for adding wheels so it can quickly be moved around, or it comes with screws to secure it to the floor. It is also tall; just be aware when deciding which heater to get. The base is also large and easily fits a standard propane tank. The heater is quite heavy, so keep that in mind when planning for its transportation and installation. Please NOTE that it takes 30-60 seconds of holding in the pilot to get the propane all the way through its system before it will light. This process might be longer than what you're used to with a BBQ, but it's necessary for the heater to function properly. You will not hear any sound come through as you would with a BBQ, but that does not mean it isn’t working up to the ignition spark. If you haven’t used it for a while, you will still have to hold in the pilot for a little longer. Instructions are pre-attached to the base opening to help you through its operations. Once you have it going, the heater is amazing. The flame is super cool, and the unit heats up fast. I am so happy with it. It looks as much like a decorative piece as it is functional. ... show more
