  • Works fine for me
Color: black
Looks nice, lights easily, and very portable. Easy enough to assemble just took a little patience.

  • Hardware missing and instructions all wrong
Color: black
The first thing I noticed was all the hardware was in a bag instead of on a card. Then the instructions said to put bolts where screw should be. Also the nuts to hold the top were missing. Lastly the propane bottle cover keeps falling off. I expected more heat output.

  • Nice portable, tabletop heater. Kind of wish it produced more heat.
Color: black
This is a pretty nice heater to have on your patio or deck. It's very maneuverable and easy to place wherever you may need it. The instructions were easy to read and assembly was wasn't bad at all. Getting the hang of lighting the pilot light and then igniting the rest of the unit was a little tricky. After doing it a few times, it wasn't so bad. My wife says it's a bit complicated, but maybe I just have a little more experience with propane tanks and such. However, I don't know if my expectations where unrealistic, or I just used it when it was very very cold outside, but I wasn't super impressed with the heat output. If I wasn't standing pretty much right next to it, I wasn't staying warm. Perhaps this is more suited for fairly chilly days or evenings. I would probably give this 3.5 stars if I could. It does seem to be quality made and is quite sturdy, so 4 stars is acceptable. ... show more

  • Easy to use, portable and light. Read my instructions first.
Color: black
This came in a marked cardboard box. This company has excellent customer service. I called because this was missing some screws when I got it and they shipped them right out and also sent an installation video. This thing has a little bracket you can see in the 2nd pic and that bracket also mounts to the base but the written instructions are a little lacking. Definitely put the base together first. In the written instructions, do step 2 first, then do step 1. The small propane tanks screw into the bottom part and its easier if you just tilt the propane can out of the door as the regulator swings. Otherwise, it's really difficult to screw in the propane tank if you put it all the way in the hole as there isn't really room for your hand in there. The door is magnetic so no screws for it. It has a built in ignition. It takes a bit to get it started, but once it's warmed up, it starts right up. It puts out a fair amount of heat although, I'm not sure how long one of the little tanks will last as I have not run it that long. It is very light and easy to pick up and move. ... show more

  • Gets you warm, just from assembling it.
Color: black
Let me start by saying this is really a quite good little unit. It is well designed and constructed of sturdy materials. But I can't say the same about the person who wrote the assenbly instructions--obviously someone in their 20s who has a few decades before he or she discovers that half the population can't see tiny labels and assembly illustrations. Add to that the balancing act involved to perform some of the steps of the assembly process and you have, at least for this owner, rather diminished the pleasure of purchase. There is still one step in mounting the door that escapes me, either that or there is a part missing. I'm really rather surprised at my reaction to the assembly process. I have a very well stocked tool chest, and many decades of assembling and disassembly things, so am no stranger to such projects, but this one I found tedious and unnecessary. I have three other East Oak heaters, all infrared, and assembly was a breeze--indeed, essentially none was needed. My experience with East Oak is that their products are one to two notches high than their competitors. That would be the case here if assembly were not required. As for function, it works even better than I expected. I purchased this as a back up to three large infrared heaters. I wan't something that would make cooking and heating outside more bearable, should power be lost. I think I have that with this addition. Maybe towards the end of Winter, I'll provide an update to more fully cover reliability and effective use. ... show more

  • Great Heater for your porch or backyard
Color: white
Great medium size outdoor heater. This heater is perfect for small areas outside the house. It radiates enough heat to make you feel comfortable. (Keep in mind the size, it can not be compared to a big or industrial heater). It is well made and looks and feel durable. Instructions are clear and it took me approximately 15 minutes to assemble it. It works with a one pound propane tank. It takes a little bit to prime the lines, but that’s completely normal and it is covered in the instructions. On high setting, a one pound propane tank lasted approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Windy conditions may require the heater to be set to high in order to get enough heat radiated. You need to be near the heater to be able to receive the heat coming out of it. (It works better if place on a table, heater was set on floor for picture purposes) Overall, good medium size heater for your needs and a fair purchase based on the price listed. ... show more

  • Good Heater
Color: black
This is a good heater. Easy enough to assemble. A little disappointed in the heat output. I thought it might put out a bit more heat. Don't get me wrong the heater works well when you're sitting close to it. I personally expected more heat. My wife was pleased with the heater. It was around 50 degrees out when I was using it. This is the first of this type of heater that I have used so maybe my expectations were too high. I may like it better after using it more. ... show more

  • Good in chilly weather but not cold
Color: white
This heater is good for taking the chill off a patio. The heating DIAMETER is only 4 feet and it’s not very effective below 40° F. It is radiant heat, not direct heat, so that means that it heats the objects within range, not the air. After about an hour of use, the propane tank frosts up and the pressure drops, thus lowering the flame. We tested it out when the temperature was between 40 and 45 degrees. You have to sit fairly close, almost underneath it to feel much warmth. I think this would work well for air temps in the 50s and 60s, or on a cool summer night, but it does not have the power to provide heat in the cold. It would do well sitting on a patio table with people sitting around; when it starts to get a little chilly, this heater will take the chill off and enable you to stay outside for a little longer. ... show more
