In Florida we can enjoy our outdoor space year round, but we do still get cold at times and need a way to keep our gazebo seating area warm. This heater is great and puts out a lot of heat. It comes packed in a nice sturdy box and is ready to hang up and use. The hanging cable is adjustable with a screwdriver so that you can adjust the hanging height. The remote control takes two AAA batteries and works, but you do need to hold it directly under the heater to work. It doesn't seem to like aiming at an angle. When you turn it on, it comes up at 50% power, then after about 4 seconds, it ramps up to full heat. There are two heating levels that you can set by the remote. When you turn on the heater it comes up to the level it was on when you turned it off. I took one star off because you have to have the remote control to turn it on and off or adjust the heating level. If you lose the remote or if it breaks, there's no way to turn it on manually, so it's done. But I can't wait for a cold night so we can sit outside and enjoy the weather. ... show more

I had gotten this thinking it would be good for our porch, but ours is too small for this much heat. This was great for the garage though! There's a two car garage with work space in the back that has been converted into an arcade, and this is a great way to help heat it so we don't have to close up shop during winter. Yay. Wish it had a better way to hang, I appreciate the hardware being secure, but I'm just a worrywart about the cords. ... show more

    • A near perfect way to add warmth to a patio area
I have a different model hanging up above a patio table, that heater creates a zone of visual as well as radiant warmth. This heater is going in the center of a wide semicircle of outdoor appliances: grill, smoker, pizza oven, griddle.. Like with all radiant heaters used in a large environment, those parts in the direct path of the radiance can become quite warm while the “dark side “ remains cold, not unlike sitting around a campfire (though, of course, here the heat comes from above). The grill and pizza oven have the same effect, with the side face the cookers being toasty, while during the fall the back side stays chilled. This heater will put an end to that, with the second heater warming the back side, while the cookers radiate heat on one’s front. Move to the table and one is in a new zone of radiation warmth. Both heaters are noiseless, easy to hang, use a simple hanging cord for control (this model has two heat intensities controlled through the cord), and can operate off the same circuit. Both are moderately priced, though this model is approaching the upper end of moderate. There’s a lot to like about these heaters, indeed I like the one over the patio table so much that I jumped on the chance to get a second one for the cooking area. These are definitely extending our outdoor cooking and dining by at least a month, maybe two, and possibly three. I’ll try to give an update after a few cold (by CA standards) months last year I got a thermal blanket for my smoker—never used it. Maybe this year I will ... show more

    • Radiant ceiling heater--meant to be used as a pendant in a tent or gazebo
I happen to really like this seller and their products. I have been using their radiant portable patio heater for a few months and when I saw this item, I realized it could be a useful addition to the patio as it gets colder. The heater is simple, a round fixture which is hung with the included stainless cord from a convenient place above the area you wish to heat. A 110 volt connection is needed but the heater is controllable with a small included remote which gives you the opportunity to have it automatically turn off after a period of time as well as adjust the degree of heat. This is infrared heat--it isn't going to warm the air too much but it feels great on the skin and can take the chill out of standing outdoors. The quality of the heater is good-- waterproof and designed to stay outdoors, but because it is electric (and not propane) you can safely use it indoors in an unheated space if you are careful not to put it near combustible materials. ... show more

This pendant style patio heater is exactly what I was looking for! I didn't want propane or a standing one, so a hanging heater was perfect for my patio. It has a nice modern look to it which would fit in well with any decor. It has a standard 3 prong 110 plug and a remote. It also includes hanging wire and a mounting hook and you can hang it high or low based on your set up. The heater works great! The packaging came very damaged. I was concerned it was messed up. The heater was not damaged. Very easy to install! Great heat output. I am using this on my porch. Just what we needed to stay cozy! I am loving it!

    • Heats up in seconds
I used the preinstalled wire to mount from the top of my deck canopy. Then I plugged in the wire and flipped the switch. I felt the heat immediately! It also has a remote so I don't have to reach up anymore to adjust or turn off.
