This is out second patio heater. The first was a bit lower in cost and 45,000 BTU. It was OK but never really got us warm enough on a cooler day. It stopped working after 4 years and when we looked for another one, the other good reviews of the East Oak drew out attention. Assembly was simple. It is now just about March. We have gone through the North Carolina mixed bag winter and are very happy with the purchase. The extra 10,000 BTU made a bigger difference than we expected. It got hotter, spread the heat further, and didn't seem to be as susceptible to being blown out by small gusts of wind. ... show more

I initially gave this heater a poor review and I regret it. The company handled my concerns quickly and efficiently and the heater held up very well to heavy snow and freezing temps. It also lights super efficiently and heats very well. Great value for the cost. Would buy again

It was relatively easy to put together as the instructions are fairly well written. I (having to wear reading glasses) had to use a magnifying glass to double-check the direction of the bolts and nuts in a few spots. It took me about an hour by myself to assemble. Now for the quality: Everything is of very acceptable quality and the assembled heater really looks GREAT! (We have the black). Tank installed now and it works perfectly. I particularly like the access holes in the base that allow you to easily turn the gas tank on and off. They are also the way you lift the base cover to install/change the tank. Very well done East Oak. I will look at your other stuff now (I did get the cover for this heater already). ... show more
