It stopped working after 4 years and when we looked for another one, the other good reviews of the East Oak drew out attention. Assembly was simple. It is now just about March. We have gone through the North Carolina mixed bag winter and are very happy with the purchase. The extra 10,000 BTU made a bigger difference than we expected. I acquired this device due to my residence in Florida, where its frequent use is unlikely. However, it provides a valuable utility when hosting outdoor gatherings in cold weather. The assembly process was straightforward and devoid of any complications. Recently, I had the opportunity to utilize the device more extensively. Notably, it generates a substantial amount of heat. One user reported that one side of the device emitted more heat than the other. I attributed this observation to the positioning of the heater on the lawn, which caused the device to tilt unevenly. Consequently, the fire may have shifted to one side, resulting in a temperature difference. In summary, I positioned chairs around the device and, at the highest setting, it effectively provides a gentle warmth that can be directed towards those nearby. Standing directly next to the device on the highest setting intensifies the sensation of heat. ... show more

It was relatively easy to put together as the instructions are fairly well written. I (having to wear reading glasses) had to use a magnifying glass to double-check the direction of the bolts and nuts in a few spots. It took me about an hour by myself to assemble. Now for the quality: Everything is of very acceptable quality and the assembled heater really looks GREAT! (We have the black). Tank installed now and it works perfectly. I particularly like the access holes in the base that allow you to easily turn the gas tank on and off. They are also the way you lift the base cover to install/change the tank. Very well done East Oak. I will look at your other stuff now (I did get the cover for this heater already). ... show more

Heat is great with a deflector. Definitely use a sand base and strap if located on a patio. Customer service is awesome. Mine got some wind damage and they promptly sent repair hardware. For the heat and with adequate wind protection this is a great buy!

I have read almost every review requesting customer help. However, I read that right after I made the purchase. What I will say is that I have absolutely no complaints. As a female near 60, I took it upon myself to attempt it myself. I actually completed it in 1 1/2 hr alone. I waited 2 days because of other responsibilities when I started it. It was absolutely perfect. There were no issues and the heat source is massive. I absolutely love my purchase. One other thing… the instructions are self explanatory. Just follow !!! ... show more
