This is a very strong patio heater. This is just like the ones I see used in outdoor restaurants and parking areas. It lights up easily and gets really hot sending a lot of heat to the area around it. There is a fair amount of assembly required but the instructions are very good, and the hardware is labeled making it easy to assemble. It took me about 90 minutes and required just a few additional common tools. This heater, with a propane tank, is heavy, but it has wheels to help you move it to where you need it. It does come with stabilization mounts that I used to secure the entire unit to the ground so that higher winds should not be able to topple this. I did notice some small amount of surface rust inside the main tube, but the rest of the unit was flawless. This heater is tall, standing about 7 feet. It should not be placed under a lower ceiling or canopy. Since it is made for outside usage, it is best used on an open-air porch. We do enjoy sitting outside near our firepit. But for the times when we don’t want to go through the effort of building a fire, the ability to push a button and turn a knob to get outdoor heat will win us over. ... show more

The manual lists 60 minutes for assembly, and it takes every minute of that estimate! Assembly is actually fairly easy, and the hardware is nicely labeled and easy to locate. I didn’t use the included wrenches, I used my own socket set and wrenches. All the pieces are high quality: Painted pieces are very nicely finished, and the stainless steel pieces were in great shape. All the hardware fit without issue (no alignment issues). Packaging was very good, and nothing arrived damaged. Once it was assembled, I fired it up for a quick test, and the 55k BTUs really pumps out a ton of heat! We look forward to using this occasionally in the colder months so we can make more use of our patio. ... show more

This patio heater is very strong. It puts out some major heat. I love the look and ease of operation. Safety wise, if it gets rocked or tipped over it with shut off. It doesn't consume as much gas as you'd expect, mainly because after a few minutes you likely can reduce the strength of the output. The heat really radiates out of the top and spread out in a nice wide circle. The heater stands about 8 feet tall and has a handy little table on the base. I like how easy this was to put together. It comes with a wrench, but I used a 10mm socket wrench with a Phillip head screwdriver in addition to the included wrench. I was able to put everything together within 20 mins by myself. I connected my 20lb propane tank, and I was able to light it in one press of the igniter. My last heater required you to slide up the base to access the valve of the propane tank. This is expected when you have to change the bottle, but is a pain for regular use as it can cause undue damage over time to the base. Our patio heater arrived a couple of days ago and we tackled the assembly right away. It honestly was fairly easy with good instructions. Wrenches were provided and you also need a screwdriver. The instructions have tips on each page that you need to read to avoid the need to redo something and be sure to carefully remove the protective plastic from the top sections before assembly. Overall the assembly took about 1/2 hour. We immediately fired it up (outside only) with just one igniter push. It is definitely a great addition to our patio area with these chilly fall days. Update: It worked great that first time, but I could not get it to light last night. The ignition would not fire. It was raining outside, but the heater was undercover and not wet, but the humidity was 100%; perhaps this is why it would not fire? I will buy one of those long lighters and light it manually in the future, but it is disappointing that the ingnighter only worked once. I am dropping my review to a 3 star. I believe it will still work, and it is attractive, but the ignitor only worked once. This is perfect for us on those cool evenings! I was able to assemble by myself (50+F) completely! The instructions were very clear with lots of pictures. The hardware was pre-sorted in a very handy little display card. The attention to detail on the hardware was exciting. They were on the card in the order you needed them, so they are easily accessible the whole way! (Ok, I admit I watched the assembly video posted on the Amazon Listing, but still, I did it all by myself!) Before anyone gets all bent out of shape, I took pictures of it in my garage; I just fired it up for the picture! This is “outdoor” use only, and I moved it for last night's gathering! We were so comfortable all evening, enjoying cold beverages and cool crisp air, but we didn’t even feel cold because this sweet heater kept us toasty! Much to my surprise this patio heater did not arrive assembled. Therefore since I'm a little challenged in that area, I set an appointment with my handyman to put it together. It also does require a propane tank that is not included.
