  • Simple design. Heats well, easy to light, easy to move. Give yourself time for assembly.
Size: 48000 BTU
I am extremely pleased with this. Going to the most important point first: it is easy to light and gets plenty warm. I don't have any way of checking actual BTU output, so I resorted to a temperature gauge under the lamp on a table and another about 20 feet away, well out of reach. The warmed one read 74, the other 58. Like most of these types of lamps the heat doesn't carry a tremendous distance, but you started to feel it about 5 steps or so away. I don't live where it gets Quite Cold, but as long as there isn't a fierce wind blowing I imagine you should warm up to around 70 regardless. And it is slightly shorter than some, so the heat stays a bit closer. It took my husband about 45 minutes to put it all together, although he said that it is very easy to do and that the instructions are simple & clear. Just give yourself space and time. It comes with a variable wrench; you will probably need a second wrench to hold things down while you tighten and a screwdriver or a drill with a Phillips head. It is easy to roll around and quite easy to hook up. You just lift up the slider to move the propane tank in and out. I haven't used up the tank yet, because it isn't that cold, so the most I can say there is that the two-odd hours I've used it for seem to have needed around a third of a tank. But it wasn't completely full, so that's an approximate. A good heat lamp :) ... show more

  • High quality, easy to assemble, & puts out lots of heat
Size: 50000 BTU
This patio heater is of the size & quality that we see at nice restaurants, is very stable & puts out lots of heat. It was easy to assemble because the instruction manual was very detailed & all bolts, nuts, etc. were clearly labeled in separate ziplock packets. Most of those also include a spare in case you lose one, and each is labeled with quantity & whether there’s a spare included in the packet. It has 2 wheels on one side of the base to roll around easily, and includes a sand/water box installed on the bottom for weight. Most similar heaters sell that separately but it’s a must-have for safety. All you need is a full 20lb propane tank to connect and you’re ready to rock! The hose is included and there’s a strap that buckles the tank in for stability. The little tray on the tank cover is handy for drinks or snacks. The heater is constructed of stainless steel that will last for years, but we still ordered a zippered cover to protect it from top to bottom. We anseembled it inside our basement & then rolled it outside on the patio, I realized later that installing the heat shield on top would have been easier if we’d done it outside because we could have stood on the steps to our balcony to easily reach it from the top. It wasn’t hard at all but the steps would have made it that much easier. Love, love, love it!! ... show more

  • Excellent heat output, well designed, assembly takes a bit
Size: 48000 BTU
This patio heater puts out an enormous amount of heat and does so immediately upon being turned on. The heater seems well designed - sturdy and without a lot of fussy bits that are likely to break. It is attractive to look at. The manufacturer recommends anchoring so that wind cannot knock it over but that wasn't really an option for me on my concrete patio. It does seem very stable even without being anchored and the anchoring brackets are a nice feature if it works in your setting. I do store it in the corner when I am not using it. This is easy to do as it rolls easily on the pair of wheels on one side. This came with very clear instructions, includes extra screws and such in case you lose any pieces in the lawn during assembly, and the tolerances are such that everything fits together easily but without unwanted wiggling once you tighten things down. You will need a Philips head screwdriver, an extra wrench (it comes with one), and a ladder. A stepstool is not tall enough unless you are much taller than 5' 4" (I tried and had to get out the ladder). Assembly takes about an hour. The assembly guide states all of this very clearly so you do know how much time to allow and what you will need. They recommend two people for assembly, but I did not need the second person (although it would have been nice). You can do this yourself. ... show more

  • Wonderful addition to our patio
Size: 50000 BTU
The first thing to mention is this thing is big. Bigger than I anticipated once I got it put together. Originally I was going to use it on our covered front deck by our outdoor furniture, but the unit itself is well over 6 feet tall and directions recommended 4 feet of clearance from the top of the unit to anything above it... so following the directions, you'd need a ceiling over 10 feet tall to put this under. This is not a complaint, but something to keep in mind when ordering. The reflector up top is also very wide and wouldn't have fit through our front door if I would have completed the assembly inside the house (where I started it). Fortunately we have an uncovered back deck that this is perfect for. The instructions are really quite good and it goes together fairly quickly. It lights easily and it puts out a LOT of heat. In fact, we're sitting in 50 and 60 degree weather and the low setting is plenty to warm our area to be comfortable outside. It's stainless steel and should hold up well. Very happy with this! ... show more

  • Nice Patio Heater
Size: 50000 BTU
This is our first patio heater and we love it! Putting it together is not difficult but it does take some time. I'm handy with these kinds of things and found the directions to be good but simply due to the number of pieces it does take 30-45 minutes to build. I felt that the sand box base, even when filled (mostly) with sand and water, didn't seem up to the task to keep this heater secure with a good wind blowing. Once you add a full propane tank, it feels a lot more planted. We may not have been able to fully load the base with enough sand to have it properly weighted. The heater itself looks good and works very well. I'm glad we got it early to use through the cooler Spring weather and will look forward to using it again when Fall comes back around. We also found a nice cover for it that fits well to keep it looking great all year round. We're very happy with this heater and the fact that it lets us enjoy our patio longer into the year! ... show more
