We liked this heater so much we bought a 2nd one. It was the hit of our party & really did the job! Everyone was surprised by how great it worked, how far the heat radiated, & the price (on sale for $129 at the time) We did have to contact customer support regarding a dented base for the one, & a broken outer seal & knob for the other one. The instructions were amazing. Just one note. It is very tall, and direction noted 48" above and around clearance. I was putting it on my back porch that is 10 feet with a slated ceiling. I am typically not very good at putting things together, but I did this on my own this evening, and I was very impressed by the instructions. It took me just under 2 hours. My biggest frustration was trying to get the protective covering off of the plates at the top of the unit. Oh my gosh, was it ever a struggle! That’s 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back, and it left my fingers very sore! Otherwise, putting it together was easy because of the excellent instructions! I only turned it on for a couple of minutes because I didn’t want to waste the propane, but I was very pleased with the heat and the distance the heat reached in those couple of minutes!! We’ll be using it tomorrow night for an outdoor gathering, and I feel confident that it will add the heat needed to be able to stay outdoors!! ... show more

This company stands behind its products 100%.. I bought this heater for my Patio. It worked wonderfully for about a week. Then the igniter failed. I called customer service. They were very polite and eager to help. They had me send videos of my process to see the problem and confirm that it was not operator error. After verifying the problem, they offered to ship a new "burner assembly ". They apologized that the 48,000btu unit was out of stock for 2 weeks. I agreed to wait. A few days later, to avoid the delay, they offered to ship a 55,000btu assembly immediately. I got it.. installed it.. waiting for a label to send the old one back. SERVICE DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT. ... show more

I opened the package to find my heater arrived without "sand box" needed to provide ballast against tipping in the wind. I called East Oak customer service and they arranged to have one shipped immediately. I went from very annoyed to very happy. The unit itself is a very good patio heater.
