Okay, I’ll admit I’m a vacuumaholic. I own five vacuums. Everything from built-in with the insanely long hose, to a light-weight but ear-plug requiring upright to a floor robot. I’ll admit the price was a bit higher than I wanted to pay but seriously, how much have i spent up to this point? Dyson makes excellent vacuums. Exceptional suction but even more remarkable, QUIET! I thought our carpets would require the max-mode using up the battery quickly when, in fact, the regular mode did just as well. And having three cats, vacuuming up everything from cat hair to cat litter is very easy. The machine works well on our think carpets and tile floors without changing vacuum heads. I thought it would replace my corded upright. THE. WORST. VACUUM. EVER. The LOW setting is basically useless for anything other than pet hair on a tile or wood floors. The HIGH setting is borderline useful, but eats up the battery in five (5) minutes, and then it takes 4-6 hours to recharge the battery. AND, the canister is very small and you have to empty it every few minutes. Charging speed: Not just SLOW, beyond SLOW. The charging speed redefines SLOW. And you can't buy a second battery. Build quality: Adequate, but typical of Dyson. Totally form over function. Cordless: Yes. Weight: Heavy, considering how little suction it has. Ease of cleaning: Adequate. Functionality: Useless on LOW, borderline on HIGH. HIGH eats the battery in five (5) minutes. There's no trigger lock, which gets tiresome quickly. Very poorly designed product. ... show more

We absolutely love this vacuum! I was a little worried how it would do with both carpet and hardwood floors but it’s been great! It transitions very well between both floor types and picks up everything! We have a toddler, infant, and cat and we vacuum MULTIPLE times per day. It’s so quick and easy to grab and clean up messes. I was also worried about being able to vacuum everything in one charge, but so far that hasn’t been an issue. I can vacuum everything inch of my house (about 1,800 sq ft) without any issues. I do have to empty it a few times though. With that being said, being able to pull the trash button is amazing! I never have to worry about getting the hair or dirt on my hands! This is the best vacuum I ever bought in terms of suctioning power, ease of use, versatility, and for a cordless one, the weight is very decent. Only issue is the batter that doesn't last as long as I'd expect for such a high quality product. If you use the high-power mode-needed for high use carpets, in just 5-7 minutes the battery is dead and it takes HOURS for a full charge. Otherwise, if you want to clean an entire 2BR/BA apartment you gotta use the regular mode and it'll last if you go at a fast pace. Would be 11 stars if battery lasted longer. ... show more

Lightweight, efficient, long-lasting, easy to operate. Expensive, but worth it. We have two 100 lb-plus dogs. We vacuum almost every day. The Dyson is like a quiet, reliable member of our family. This is our second Dyson. The first one finally surrendered to the daily beating it took for 5 years in our 3,800 square-foot house with carpeting and hardwood. ... show more
