With hair removal vanes that clear long hair and pet hair from the brush bar as you clean. The Dyson V8 Cyclone has advanced, whole-machine filtration that captures fine dust and expels cleaner air.³ Thanks to the cordless format, it also transforms into a handheld vacuum with one click so you can clean up high, down low, and everywhere in between. Comes with a 2-year limited warranty and lifetime Dyson support.¹Compared to the original Dyson V8. Suction power tested to ASTM F558, in Boost mode at the inlet.²Applies in Eco mode in handheld configuration. Actual run time will vary based on power mode, floor type and/or attachments used³Tested to ASTM F1977 in Boost mode at SGS Laboratory USA in 2025. • Nice improvements to previous model Nice improvements to previous model
My very first Dyson was a Cyclone and I’m so pleased to see the improvements that have been made over the years. This is my first one with a button you simply press to turn on with no trigger-style button you have to hold in the entire time you use the vacuum. This is so huge for those with disabilities. Now I can finally buy one of these for my relative with crippling arthritis in her fingers, as I’ve been wanting to get her a quality cordless stick vac for a decade now. The button has three settings, and according to the manual, are ECO (blue light), MEDIUM (green), and BOOST (red). Funny because you’d think ECO would be the green light, so it took me a day or two to remember which was which between the blue and the green light. But the sound of the motor does help you make the determination with all three button presses. You can hear the supercharged boost mode, and you can hear the ECO mode kind of working with you, so it’s easy enough to associate the colors with the levels. I believe they always choose red for the boost mode to remind you that you’ll use up your battery’s charge the fastest in boost mode. This is the simple version of the Dyson stick, so it only comes with the crevice tool and the brilliant vacuum head that knows how to not make a mess of my vacuumed-up very long hair. It all ends up in the bagless part you dump. The only slight problem here is that it also wraps itself around the middle of the dumping part. So I still need to reach in and help it along. I’ve included photos. But we have really high pile carpet and I’m so impressed that something so tiny can suck so much! It also comes with the corded wall charger and wall mount which is helpful because otherwise it has no real home and I end up propping it up wherever I last finished cleaning. There is a light that flashes blue on the side of the handheld part while charging. It does take a full 4 hours to charge, just like it says in the manual, especially if I’ve drained it completely. The clicky parts are a lot easier to take apart and put back together than the original designs for sure. I used to have to ask my husband to pull the things apart on my first unit, but on this Cyclone it’s so much easier. The current price point is $400 which is pretty fabulously competitive, given that Dyson was about the first to bring the stick vac to market. Vastly impressed in the improvements and will continue to be loyal to Dyson. Oh, I forgot to mention this unit is Army Green and gloriously so. ... show more

  • Powerful and Quiet Powerful and Quiet
We’ve had two Dyson stick vacuums for years (an older V6 and a V10 Total Care). While the V6 has been a great little machine, it was definitely showing its age. The V8 Cyclone has been an impressive replacement. I was surprised to see that the V8 Cyclone delivers the same 150 AW of suction as the V10. It’s a huge jump from the V6’s 100 AW, and you can feel the difference immediately. It has three modes (eco, medium, and Boost), which I usually run it on medium. It has no trouble picking up everything my pets and kids leave behind, which is a lot of hair and dirt. On Boost, it practically lifts the carpet. One thing that really stood out is how much quieter it is. On medium, it measured about 75 dB compared to the V10’s 85 dB, and even on high it was quieter. My pets appreciate the reduced noise it makes. Another nice bonus is that many of the parts between the V10 and V8 are interchangeable. The version I got only came with just the motorized head and the crevice tool, so being able to swap with my other accessories is really convenient. Installation was simple. Size wise it is just as long as the V10 and V6 so hanging it up didn't require moving the dock from its previous placement. The charging cable reached the same spot where the V6 was mounted, and the wall dock lined up perfectly with the old screw holes. Emptying the bin is easier than the V6, and while I’m still deciding if I prefer it over the V10’s system, I do like that you don’t have to remove the attachment first. The removable battery is a big improvement. I can clean most of the house on one charge, but knowing I can swap the battery in the future without dealing with screws is a huge plus. Our Dysons tend to last forever, so this will matter down the road when the battery will need to be replaced. Honestly, I would have rated it higher if I could. Registering it gives you a 2‑year warranty, which is solid. While Dyson vacuums cost more, they last a long time, parts are easy to replace, and the performance is consistently excellent. This V8 Cyclone is no exception. ... show more

  • Great Dyson Performance at a More Affordable Price
I ordered this Dyson V8 because I wanted a reliable cordless vacuum, but I did not necessarily need all of the newest features, extra attachments, or premium upgrades found on Dyson’s latest models. One of the things that appealed to me most was that it costs significantly less than the newer versions while still offering the core performance that made me a Dyson fan in the first place. After using it around my home, I have been very happy with how well it cleans. The suction is strong enough to handle everyday dust, dirt, pet hair, and debris on both hard floors and rugs. The Motorbar cleaner head does a nice job picking up hair, and I have noticed far less hair wrapped around the brush roll compared to many vacuums I have owned in the past. I also like how lightweight and maneuverable it feels. It is easy to grab for quick cleanups, and the cordless design makes it simple to move from room to room. The battery life has been more than adequate for my regular cleaning sessions, and I appreciate not having to drag a cord around the house. The illuminated cleaner head is another feature I ended up liking more than I expected. It helps reveal dust and fine debris that can be difficult to see, especially on hard floors. While this model does not have all the bells and whistles of Dyson’s newest releases, I never felt like I was sacrificing cleaning performance. It still delivers the strong suction, ease of use, and overall quality that I expect from the brand. In summary, the Dyson V8 strikes a great balance between price and performance. If you want a quality Dyson cordless vacuum and do not need every new feature available, this model offers excellent cleaning power at a much more approachable price point. ... show more

  • Lightweight, Powerful, and Easy to Grab for Quick Cleaning
I’ve been very happy with the Dyson V8. It has become my go-to vacuum for quick cleanups and everyday use. The cordless design makes it incredibly convenient, and I find myself vacuuming more often because I don’t have to deal with plugging and unplugging a cord. The suction power is impressive for a lightweight vacuum and does a great job picking up dust, dirt, and pet hair from both hard floors and carpets. I also like how easy it is to switch between attachments for different cleaning tasks around the house. The battery life has been sufficient for my needs, especially for routine cleaning sessions. Emptying the dust bin is simple, and the vacuum is easy to maneuver around furniture and into tight spaces. Overall, the Dyson V8 offers a great balance of performance, convenience, and ease of use. It has made everyday cleaning much easier, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable cordless vacuum. ... show more

  • Clean fast
While the 115AW suction power isn't as strong as the flagship model, it doesn't compromise on handling everyday dust, cat hair in sofa crevices, or cookie crumbs deep in carpets. A single vacuum leaves the floor sparkling clean, as if it's just been waxed. Emptying the dustbin becomes a therapeutic moment: a gentle push of the button, and with a "click," the bottom of the dustbin pops open, releasing a clump of dust—your hands remain completely clean. Watching the filter and cyclone assembly empty completely is incredibly relaxing. ... show more
