Dyson is one of the best for a reason. If you are looking for cordless, then don't go cheap to save $100. Being a typical male I hate vacuuming, but I love this thing. It's so satisfying to not have to run over the same spot 4-5 times.

This is the second Dyson V8 Absolute I have purchased. This one is for my partner’s new home, which has light maple hardwood floors that show every speck of dirt. The V8 is not Dyson’s top model but it is adequate for quick cleaning the hardwood floors in a 2000 sq ft home. The 20 (high suction)to 40 minute ( low suction) battery life is a weakness but who wants to be vacuuming for more than 20 minutes? On high suction mode it does a reasonably decent job cleaning carpets as well. One big advantage is that the V8 can usually be purchased on Amazon at a price that is far below the prices of Dyson’s more advanced cordless stick vacuums. The V8 Absolute, which has a HEPA filter, is very cost-effective. Lastly, my first V8 is 6 years old and has functioned flawlessly. I only had to replace the battery after about 4 years of service, which was cheap on the Amazon website. ... show more

Have used three times. Beader bar for hardwood floors does not work. Contacted Seller who did not assist at all. Referred me to Dyson. Worst seller experience ever. The vacuum is also very heavy on one’s wrist. The squeeze on off switch makes it difficult for vacuuming. Really disappointing experience. Would encourage potential buyers to consider other options. Dyson is a farce. Been Waiting since February 2024 for a replacement head. Sent wrong item twice and last replacement never showed up in delivery. DO NOT RECOMMEND DYSON NOT THIS SELLER NOR DYSON’s Cust service which not a single person speaks English ... show more

I got this as an addition to my larger home vacuum. For what this is the suction power is great. The attachment for the wood floors works well as does the rug attachment. You could probably use this as your full time vacuum but a good home vacuum would pull more dirt out of carpets.

Really nice vacuum( my second one) but seems not as sturdily built as the first one I purchased 5/6 years ago. I have no hardwood or stairs so I can’t speak to that.

This product worked fine for the first few uses. Then it would vacuum for several seconds, and then stop. No amount of charging helped. Totally dissatisfied with this machine. A piece of junk

    • Second Dyson and second disappointment.
The media could not be loaded. This is my second Dyson. My first one died after two years and I was disappointed in the quality then and I should’ve learned my lesson. But being that it’s been almost a decade I figured perhaps they improved. For over $300 I would expect that this cordless could pick up this piece of dirt. I regret spending that much on a Dyson when I could’ve spent a bit less to get the same or better quality. I’m done with Dyson. ... show more
