Right out of the box (once fully charged) this vacuum did a great job on our hard wood floors and carpets, even on the lowest power setting. We have a wood stove so have “tree crumbs” all over the floor. The Dyson got all but the biggest pieces up easily.

    • defective parts: emptying the cannister or changing the attachment is VERY difficult
The machine we received is defective. The button that must be pressed in order to separate the and empty the cannister or switch the attachments doesn't fit properly and it is VERY difficult to attach and detatch. It doesn't depress completely and gets stuck.

Maybe I just got the lemon, but I do not feel like it was worth the price. On average I have used it 24 to 30 times since I bought it about two years ago. It stopped holding a change after a few months. I don’t have pets or anything, I use it mainly to vacuum my stairs and the foyer area rugs. When it stopped holding a charge I went online and followed the instructions on how to keep it working well. I did the whole cleaning bit, but it still doesn’t hold a charge. When it is powered it works well, but what value does it have without power. For that I give it three stars. ... show more
