    • It's 'da bomb!
I bought on a whim (and on sale) just because. Our main vacuum is many years old and although it still works pretty well, it's big, heavy and....you know. A PITA This thing is amazing! It's light, powerful and blow me away how long it runs. On hard floors obviously it'll run a lot longer, and on carpet, has to work harder thus runtime is shorter. A combo as I went through the house the first time, was just over 1 hour runtime, both hard floor and carpet!! That first run was pretty great, but as I watched the canister, I couldn't believe what all it was collecting and how much, on floors that had been vacuumed recently. The other amazing thing, and likely why it collected a lot more "stuff" is how nimble it is. You can vacuum a floor under a table and not move chairs, just twist and manipulate the head and it slides anywhere and everywhere. Under beds and furniture, same thing. There's almost nowhere you can't maneuver the head. So ya, it's a little more expensive but it replaces 2 other vacuums and does so easily. It does everything they do and a lot more. Like other battery operated "things" I've switched to, I expect replacing batteries over time, but treat them right and they'll last longer! ... show more

    • Good and convenient vacuum
It took me 15 mins to vacuum my 2000 sq ft home. I love this thing! Out of the box, the product was dusty, everything from the motor to the motor head was covered in dust. Dyson says it should take about 2 hours to charge once you get it, for me it was about 4 hours to fully charge the battery. The motor-head does get hair wrapped around it, I have hair down to my chest and had to cut the hairs off the motor bar but I did expect that and it didn’t impair vacuuming itself. This vacuum is also on the heavier side of the Dyson cordless in general so if you do not workout your arms or have a disability associated with carrying things and hands, you will probably feel it. I workout regularly so it’s fine for me but I know someone with less energy would struggle. The attachments are good, I do wish the detail attachment worked with the “rod” that extends to the floor, I can’t reach my ceilings with the short detail attachment. It’s not loud, which as someone with sensory issues, this is amazing for me. It vacuums well, I have a Kirby so it’s nothing close to that quality but it works for when you don’t want to bring out the hunk of metal. I researched for a couple of weeks for a cordless. Reviews are nothing until you see a comparison video and my choice was made. Making that choice on Cyber Monday was even better. I own a corded Shark and vacuumed while this charged up fully (recommended before use). I then used the Dyson and holy crud what was left behind shocked me. I think it grabbed dirt from under the house. My Shark doesn’t even leave vacuum lines anymore, but oh boy the Dyson did. Now I’m wondering if will be better than my moms twice as much Kirby. The big Pro for me is the suction. I’m just stunned what it picked up. It’s also short, so perfect for the 5’2” me. I do have long hair to mid butt and not one hair was around the roller. So tired of sitting on the floor with a box cutter cleaning off the Shark roller and still can’t get it all. *Probably why doesn’t work well anymore. The larger canister, let me tell ya, holds a lot. I love that I can attach the attachments right to the power head which makes doing stairs so much easier. Can’t wait to clean my car without an extension cord. No issues not being able to run a straight line and that surprised me considering the brush head swivels easily. Very easy to control and glides easy across the carpet on all settings. There is brush head height adjustment if you have longer carpet threads. Transitioning to tile floor was a breeze. Cleaning area rugs on medium worked great, never ate them once. The Cons: The power head is heavier than it looks and will take some time to get use to. That with holding the power button at all times to run makes it seem heavier. I found myself switching hands to relieve the weight and trigger finger. Dyson really should add a lock feature. If you have weak hands or carpal tunnel, this may be an issue. Make sure you screw the charging dock to a stud as the weight of the vacuum makes it pull forward and you don’t want it ripping out of the wall. Would I recommend? Most definitely. Why the 4 stars, the weight and no power lock is a downfall for me. Not a deal breaker, but may not be for everyone. Happy vacuuming all :) ... show more

The larger canister, head size and battery life and run time are a big improvement. Not to mention it has plenty of suction for our carpet. It adjusts easily between carpet and hardwood flooring. The additional attachments that are included are great. We have stairs and the one we use for stairs does what it should. I really appreciate the fact that you can replace the battery when needed. Having access to cleaning the main head and beater bar is great. We chose to provide a stand instead of screwing it into a wall. This way if we redecorate we have the option to place the vacuum where we need to. Since it does have a larger canister and larger head cleaner it is a bit heavier. So keep this in mind. For us it is a moot point and the benefits are worth the extra weight. I highly recommend. ... show more
