So I bought this as a mother's gift as a joke, (of course I intend to clean the house for her) but I'm honestly surprised by how much this Dyson product can suck/clean! This is, of course, the families first big investment in a vacuum cleaner since up till now my dad would always buy vacuums from garage sells, which always broke after about 6 months or so. Just to give you an insight of how impressed I am, our family vacuum about every other week, and to see this suck this much dirt! It shows that this vacuum will make your other vacuum inferior. Pro: A) I assume this is the sturdiest vacuum you can get (unless you can find one that's made of diamond) B) Pretty flexible with you try to get those corners. C) Simple to clean and empty out the dirt. D) It does everything it says it does Cons: A) Too heavy for my mother. (She is 60 as of now) B) A really great way to procrastinate from final exams is to start cleaning the whole house. (I mean, cleaner house = higher grades?) C) pretty expensive, so try to get this on sale. D) I think your neighbors might get jealous.

I generally dislike doing chores but I don't mind vacuuming (which is to say I end up doing all of the families vacuuming). I previously had a Dyson ball vacuum for 7 years and it was wonderful but our new Australian Shepherd got ahold of it and chewed through the power cable much to my dismay (it was not plugged in, thankfully, lesson learned). Anyway, I had no complaints about the old vacuum (and rather liked it) so I went back to Dyson again. This vacuum is wonderful. It has good suction, it maneuvers well, it's easy to dump the container and clean (no vacuum cleaner bags is a plus for me). One thing I like about Dyson vacuums is how you can take the pieces apart to fix problems like clogs and easily get them back together. I'm completely happy with my purchase. I will note, this vacuum was a bit heavier than the old Dyson vacuum I owned. This isn't a problem for me but if you have lots of stairs and don't like lugging things up and down them you might keep that in mind.

Finally decided to splurge on a Dyson and, wow, am I glad I did. As a new Dad, I wanted to make sure our home was going to be as clean as possible. I have an older , top-of-the-line Shark upright that I "thought" was doing a good job. I decided to put my Dyson to the test against this older vacuum. I vacuumed our living room with the shark and it gathered up a good bit of dust/dirt/hair/fuzz. I then took the empty Dyson and vacuumed the exact same area. I expected to find a small amount of debris, but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. After finishing my Dyson was nearly half full with even more hair, fuzz and a layer of dust nearly half an inch thick. My wife and I were stunned. On top of all this, it is so easy to use. It maneuvers with ease, gets underneath furniture and cleans up in a snap. Yes, the Dyson is more expensive, but you truly get what you pay for. It's a phenomenal machine with a peace of mind 5-year warranty included. I'm officially a Dyson user for life moving forward!

I love this vacuum, but after using it for 13 months, the hose came apart and the vacuum lost suction. I called Dyson and was told I would have to purchase a new hose. So much for their five year warranty. This is my third Dyson vacuum and I have never had a problem with any of them until now. I'm very disappointed that this hose wasn't covered under the warranty. With what I have paid for these vacuums and Dyson's warranty claims, I expected better. 😠

I could write a novel about this vacuum and how much I love it. Best purchase ever. Before I got this amazing piece of machinery, I had some crappy little $19 stick vac from Wal Mart. It basically pushed around dirt. In the last two years, I've moved into my own apartment and adopted a cat. It was time to invest. I have always dreamed of a Dyson (weird? probably) and couldn't wait to finally get one. I did research on which model I wanted to get. I didn't want to spend more than $300, which limited things, but this one had such great reviews, and what I really cared about was the ability to really pick up dirt and hair, longevity, and multi-surface use. I can't speak to the longevity because I've only had it for a few months, but it has been nothing short of amazing in the other two ways. The day I got my vacuum, I vacuumed with my stick vac and my carpets and tile appeared clean. I used the Dyson as soon as I got it and OH MY LORD. I filled the whole tank with dirt and hair and dust and God knows what else in less than FIVE MINUTES. Please note, I live in a 400 square foot studio apartment - and it still filled it! So gross to realize how much dirt I was living among. But SO GLAD I was cleaning it up! It works seamlessly across my carpet and tile. The tank is SO easy to empty and no mess at all, which is amazing. The vacuum is a little bit heavy- it is easy to maneuver with the ball, but just a little heavy if you don't have a lot of upper body strength. I couldn't be happier and am so glad I made the investment in this!

This vacuum works great. Previous vacuum's I've have been huge disappointments but this one so far works great. The suction is startling. It picks up dirt in the surrounding area not just in it's path. It is a bit heavier than I thought it would be but the way it swivel makes up for weight because it can turn on an angle. I have hardwood floors and rugs and it goes from both smoothly and gets the dirt on both. The no touch trash collector is fabulous. No more having to buy bags and getting trash everywhere when you have to dump the bin or bag. One button and it releases from the vacuum and then another button to release the bottom and the trash falls out. Then you close the bottom drawer and all done. Perfect. You do have to put it together a bit when you get it but other than that it's working just like the commercials says it would. Very happy with my purchase and the sale price. At Target this is $389.00 minus tax a $100 saving getting it from Amazon.
